Chelsea and city would if after 3 seasons that is where they were....especially with ZZ kicking his heals. If he was still at Real and there were no obvious choices perhaps I could be persuaded to hold fire..... but hell the obvious choice hasn't been so obvious in the history of the obvious choice awards!

Zidane isn't such an obvious choice though?

3 / 12 points is an absolute disaster when you consider that none of the top 4 (our supposed rivals) are losing that many points.
When you are drawing against Southampton and CP, you can't expect to get top 4.

How on Earth can anyone still think he is the man to turn Manchester United around and also to play good football? Jose and good attractive football are not in the same page. Winning yes. But he is not winning and will not win and play bad football and lose is nothing that I can accept.

    @GhastlyHun

    Goal Difference table updated.

Also something I noticed this morning:

    2016 - 19 games under Jose, 36 points. 1.9 points per game.
    2017 - 40 games under Jose, 77 points. 1.9 points per game.
    2018 - 32 games under Jose, 60 points. 1.9 points per game.

I'd like to know from the people who still believe in Jose when or what would turn this around? To me there's no signs whatsoever that anything will change for the better.

Maureen should go, but anyone thinking that this will lead to any significant improvements at United while the Glazers and their lapdog are still at the club is fooling himself.

I agree, Chelsea and City would have got rid of Jose by now if they found themselves in the same situation.

We are run differently though and it’s literally all about the money at the end of the day.

I want Jose out but I am trying to remain patient in the hope that people behind the scenes are actually planning what we should do. That includes a complete restructure of key staff, from our manager, to a DoF, scouting network, coaches etc.

I don’t know whether or not that is actually happening, or if we are simply waiting until it’s mathematically impossible to get top 4 as widely reported, but in the meantime I live in hope, and perhaps naivety.

The guy wins 3 successive CL's and he's young, charismatic, held in huge esteem by everyone over the age of 15 across the world and known from coast to coast...am i going too far yet? Lets be honest if Pogba and Martial play crap for Zidane.....there will even be Liverpool fans thinking, thats 100% not the God that is Zidane. For player 'expose' alone, these players need that light shining on them.

Thank god, a post that doesn't throw in "you're a mourinho fanboy blargh" in it, or something to that effect.

Yeah, I'm curious how Pogba will do under a different manager too. Thing is, I don't rate him as world class so it would be more a test to see as to whether I'm right or wrong about him.

Just think he had it very easy in Serie A and the Premier League today is a different beast, requiring more work rate and better quality to what he was accustomed to when his side walked the league.

Martial won't play badly for Zidane as he has played well under both LVG and Jose (when given a chance).
Pogba on the other hand - he may lose focus after a year or 2 under the same manager. Not sure about him. I simply don't appreciate players who down tools.

Another thought. When the opposition fans start signing about wanting Mourinho to stay, as Arsenal did last night, then it’s time to go.

Suspect a lot of fans are putting a brave face on it, I don't think many tears will be shed when Mourinho goes.

Give him his 30 pieces of silver and get rid.

I don't enjoy being the joke of the footballing world, and when you've got bloody Arsenal fans taking the piss it is infuriating.

I think most sensible people realize the manager isnt the only thing fundamentally wrong at the club. You cant have Ed making footballing decisions either. DOF is needed, new manager is needed. All those players who are out of contract in the summer I would let go, and I would let Tuanzebe, Forsu Mensha, Greenwood, Perreria these type of players take the squad places instead of Darmian, Fellaini, Mata etc

I don't think there is a single person who thinks that. We are all well aware this club is a mess top to bottom but I don't think Ed or Glazers pick these stupid formations so at least we can hope for improvement there.

Thanks for the nice work once again :)

It's quite astonishing how stable those trends are. Only Chelsea's line is doing something markedly different over last 5 data points compared to the ~15 before.

Well you still have basically the same squad that got 1.9 points per game in the last 2.5 years (2.1 points in the 17-18 season), but this season you only get 1.5 points per game. I think there is indeed room for some immediate improvement.

I think Woodward agrees with you. he hates the guy, so is prepared to loose a season and risk the reputation of Man Utd just to humiliate Jose and avoid him his ransom. I reckon Jose got under his skin and now its personal......

This logic is flawed because Jose had us overperforming all of last season.
1.5 points per game is about what you should expect of the current squad. This is what LVG and Jose in his first season were averaging.
Yes Jose did spend to strenghten the squad but so did others clubs and aside of Spurs they've all been better than us on the transfer market

It’s horrendous. If that was a maths test in school, 25% would be classed as failure!

How could anyone put even a slight positive spin on this is beyond belief!

I don't think that is all that irrelevant. Mourinho should go and we should hire multiple people to fill his position. Any immediate improvement will be superficial if we once again hire a person to do way more than he is qualified to do.

City's best player was apparently scouted specifically for Pep Guardiola to inherit (De Bruyne). Mane and Salah were not scouted by Klopp, he wanted a few bundesliga players but Liverpool's scouts recommended these two players.

Many of our signings have had a strong connection to Mourinho. Zlatan and Matic are former players. Lindelof and Dalot were scouted by Mourinho's portugese connections. Pogba has been on Mourinho's list since his Chelsea days. Our manager has way too much power to lead the club's future.

Every season after SAF has had a higher average points per game than 1.5. Even Moyes (1.68 ppg). 'Overperforming'. 1.5 points per game is well below the capabilities of this set of players.

Also shows pretty well that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all had small periods of around 10 games where each struggled. But they all recovered. United on the other hand are on a 20 game streak with no improvement and are on the verge of being last on the list of GD. Liverpool aren't too far away from doubling our GD, while City has almost tripled it.

Expectations have and are being lowered to such an extent that the next line from Jose will probably be 40 points should see us safe.....

    Believe.

    4/10/2010
DEFLATED Roy Hodgson accepted responsibility for a “really, really bleak” start to the season and admitted Liverpool are now facing a relegation battle.

The Anfield outfit dropped into the bottom three after a weekend round of games for the first time in more than 46 years following a shock 2-1 home defeat to promoted Blackpool yesterday.

A 53rd-minute Sotirios Kyrgiakos header wasn't enough after a Charlie Adam penalty and Luke Varney's well-taken strike earned the Seasiders their first win over Liverpool since 1967.

Defeat means Liverpool have taken just six points from seven games, their worst start to a top-flight season since 1953-54 when they were relegated.

Yeah, he was bad, won only 13 EPL titles, should have been sacked after the treble.
