I can see why the ref gave it. He was going for the ball I reckon but that follow through was too brutal.

Not sure it was intentional but it was reckless and dangerous so can see why he’s been sent off. Stupid from Pogba especially when we’re 3-1 up and have City next up.

Wasn’t intentional but it was a red card, there’s nothing he could’ve done about it

I don't think it was intentional but you have to expect a red for that these days. Pogba has damaged our chances to win this game and the derby and needs to be smarter.

Clear as day red card, even if it didn't seem intentional.

Meh. If I had the chance to stand on Bellerin I'd probably take it too.

Ref has been great all game.
Nothing wrong with the red card, apart from it being frustrating for our side.
Do hope it won't cost us here (or in the games he misses out from).

Wasn't a red. A strong yellow. Highly questionable decision, with massive implications that favour Man City, again.

Same week their 1-1 draw went to 97 minutes somehow.

Derby is basically a write off.

Next up we should try to lay down under a player that jumps for a header. When he lands with his feet on you it's a straight red obviously.

If studs go near skin, it’s always a red. But that’s not a red.

Don’t even think it falls under reckless myself. Bellerin leaves his leg there, Pogba is clearly after the ball

He was unlucky that his studs rode up in the challenge making it worse than it otherwise would have been.

Arsenal has one on Young earlier that was just as reckless but the studs stayed down so it was a yellow.

Thing about it for me is that I don't think he amended his stride. Essentially he's been sent off for not anticipating or halting his stride.

Draw against City if we're lucky. They must be dancing.

Was a red. Very disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic match.

It looks bad, but what could Pogba have done to prevent the incident? His foot wasn't high, he didn't jump, if Bellerin doesn't stretch like he does there is no contact.

Can see why it's given, I disagree with the decision though

Not sure why some in the match day thread think that wasn't a red card. Its a clear red card and we'd all be fuming if that happened to one of our players and the player got away it.

If the player cannot control his movement and causes damage, I aint even sure intent needs to be taken into account.

10 times out of 10 I would give red. But don't think its intentional though, just clumsy and reckless.

How is it an "idiotic thing to do" when essentially what happens is that Pogba is running and a player inserts himself in his path so that unless Pogba makes a split-second reaction to leap over him, he's automatically going to step on his leg just from the act of continuing his run? I mean, Pogba essentially doesn't do anything himself. The Arsenal player goes in for a tackle and puts his leg where Pogba's foot will be on his next step.

He had too much momentum and just couldn't stop himself following through.

    It's a red card though.

He's been sent off for stretching to toe the ball on. Don't think it's a red. Looked bad but that's not intentional.

We've already talked about this when Mane was sent off. Literally just a repeat discussion.

It's a red. Every day of the week. I don't think he meant it but it doesn't matter.

I known I am in the minority but I don't think it was a red. Slow-mo makes it lokks worse and some what intentional. In normal speed, it is a attempt to play the ball with normal force.

Mariner waited for that. He's given every 50-50 against us and loved a red card, him and Dean.

    Yellow should have been enough.
