I mentioned it in the Making a Murderer thread, but the comment was crowded out.

Anyway, it's very much in the same vein. I found it very good at the time.

    Here's the trailer:

The trailer doesn't give much away (and probably doesn't sell it), but definitely give it a watch. I think all the episodes are on YouTube.

It's really good. So many bizarre twists and turns. I guess this applies to all these documantaries but I definitely recommend going into it knowing nothing about the case.

Yeah, an absolute thriller in the truest sense of the word. The lawyers had the same 'likeability' as those in MaM, too, adding to the pathos of the whole thing.

This thread hasn't got much traction, though. Missing out, people!

After loving The Jinx, MaM and West of Memphis this is next on my list, after I finish Narcos.

Might have to watch the new episodes. Enjoyed the original series, along with Making a Murderer, The Jinx and a few others. Want to watch Cropsey next but struggled for a stream last time.

The new episodes aren’t good, sadly. They’re kinda boring, incredibly biased to Peterson’s defence (he even dated one of the film’s editors in the interim so... yeah) and most criminally of all they leave out the best theory - The Owl Theory!

    Skip it.
The editor married Peterson when he was in jail so you don't know what to believe because of it.

The Owl Theory seems about as legally & intellectually sound as the Chewbacca Defence.

Watched all of this knowing nothing of the case over the last week or so, the first 10 episodes were amazing! Last 3 were a bit pointless.

I can't say I believe Peterson wholly, but the prosecutors really did feck up the process and definitely had a prejudicial bias due to his sexuality - it's a wonder that they still got a unanimous jury decision despite this.

The only thing I can think was that Ratliff's (then deceased) husband had an affair with Peterson, and Ratliff found out about this and threatened to expose him.

There doesn't seem to be any other motive for murder.

The lawyer did briefly mention towards the end the possibility of a raptor doing it.

You have to feel it would have gained even more traction if they’d called it Raptor Theory.

Just finished watching the series. The problem I have with documentaries like this is that while they're very interesting and informative, they're incredibly one sided.

If you had a camera crew following the prosecution too it'd seem less biased.

Watching these episodes tonight. Watched Cropsey earlier, anybody else seen it? I was left more intrigued by Willowbrook. Honestly the clips from there are haunting, you'd think they were from a horror movie.

I'm left wanting to know more about that place than Andre Rand.

I expected more given how highly recommended it came. Still worth a watch if it’s your sort of thing, at least the first few episodes anyway.

If you’re making a 13 part documentary, about an unsolved case, which essentially runs out of story by ep 5, you put it in. However stupid it is. The stupider the better, in fact.

These kind of docs live or by by “holy shit, I didn’t not see that coming!?” down the line revelations...and who could possible see coming “hey guys, maybe, like, an owl did it?”

Yeah maybe I'm only halfway through it and they have enough twists and turns at the moment without suddenly coming up maybe it was an owl who killed her.

Isn't the theory that it attacked her outside, as there was blood at the door? Then she headed up the stairs and passed out or something like that.

It’s to Making a Murderer what Moyes United is to late 00’s United.

You mean it had a grudge and attacked her outside ?

I'd be really worried if I even considered an owl killed her even fir a second

People get attacked by animals all the time. This could be that one in a million time that an attack by an owl led to somebody's death? I don't necessarily believe that, but you can't rule it out, especially when a feather was found on her at the scene and the wounds match those caused by talons according to experts.

Just finished this yesterday it was brilliant.

I'm 50/50 on if he did it or not but I just cant get past the two people in his life died in almost the same way being found on the stairs. There's something weird about his kids they seem extremely fake or something they're really off putting, to say their Mum was murdered by their father and also to have the case in Germany tied to him id find it extremely hard to stand by his side.

But the SBI/Cops fecking with the evidence isn't right and the case should have been thrown out the minute that was made clear. The special agent in charge of the blood splatter....i mean wtf i could tell after listening to him for 10 seconds that he was a dodgy fecker.

I'm only one episode in and not reading the thread as I don't want to see spoilers. But it was definitely the husband. If he wasn't a rich white man, I don't think they'd even have bothered with the trial. Straight to prison.

First episode was 90% his team and you're like "Ah that's a little far fetched".

10% with the D.A. and police and you're like, "Yep, it was him"

Also, wasn't the Werner guy also in investigator in the JonBenet Ramsey case?
