Went to see this at the weekend, very impressed. Both the lead actress and supporting actor are nominated and favorites to win their Oscar category and rightly so to be honest. Anyone else see it? If so what did you think?

8/10 for me. I enjoy movies that are different and original. Dark story line but good comical icebreakers throughout.

Do you think the guy they went to kill at the end was the real rapist? I know it was said he wasnt in the country but why would be brag about the crime if he didn't do it? Plus he got spooked when he realized the ex-Cop was beside their boot the whole time, listening.

I thought it was a very good movie.
I didn't think they were on the way to kill that other guy because they thought he was the killer. I thought they were just about to embark on a murder spree themselves starting with that guy. He was quite homicidal and she would have followed him as he was saying the right things.

I thought it was good but didnt blow me away. The off beat comedy kind of distracted me.

Loved it. Exactly my kind of film 8.5 / 10

Really like the style of joining the story after a previous major event has already happened then travelling along with the characters for a while before leaving them with some things left to the viewer to consider what happened next.

I found it extremely boring and don't get the hype at all.

No, he wasn't the killer, even McDormand and Rockwell's characters accepted that. They just concluded that he was guilty of some other rape based on his bragging in the bar. Whether he actually was a rapist or not remains unclear.

Of all the criticisms you could level against this film I'm surprised to see boring pop up in here. Everyone in the cinema at the showing I was at seemed to be having an absolute blast with it, and given that I was the youngest in the cinema by about 40 years I'd doubt they would be the ideal demographic.

There's definitely some ropey moments (angelic dear a significant bum note), and the plot is a little implausible in places, but I don't think the film takes it self too seriously - despite what an Oscar nom may say and it is in, in my opinion, a really enjoyable movie.

Absolutely fantastic movie. Such a breath of fresh air compared to Marvel super hero movie# 21414124122515

Don't get me wrong I like Marvel, but this film had me in tears for several reasons. (not really ofc I'm too manly for tears, but still)

    9.5/10 for me

Thought it was rather overrated. Are the totally implausible bits (of which there are many) supposed to be funny also or is that excepted to just be overlooked? I also found the odd joke funny but I failed to get the deeper point/message of that film.

I thought it was pretty good but could never quite fully get a handle on it because some parts of it are so dark and/or serious and then suddenly there are bits of humour. You want all of those in a film but they never fully worked together for me, it was also hurt by the performances of McDormand and Rockwell being very good if melodramatic and then others (Abbie Cornish in particular) being quite poor. I thought it was good (maybe 7/10) but the rave reviews for this film have surprised me.

I haven't seen it but from the trailers I've seen and the reviews I've read I don't think I'd give it more than 7/10.

I think some people go in expecting too much of these kinds of films as soon as people start saying good things about them.

I know it's hard to avoid trailers etc, but some of my favourite films were ones I genuinely knew nothing about when I saw them. Donnie Darko and fight club being two good examples.

    I thought it was impressive.

Lots of the characters were complex.

I liked it too, though the fact that it has been so divisive makes it a more interesting film than it would have been otherwise.

What's Marvel got to do with anything here? Theres loads of films out that aren't Marvel.....this isn't some anomaly release.

Yeah it’s a great film. All McDonagh’s work is fantastic.

It might be me, but it seems to me every other movie is about a superhero these days. I'll rephrase, compared to the standard Hollywood blockbuster, this was a nice change of pace for the regular movie theater I frequent :)

Yeah was going to say this. The character depth and relationships make it a great film.

Really loved it, Martin McDonagh on top form. Also the criticism of the film is laughable bad and lazy.

One of the best films I've seen in a while, I don't watch a lot of them, mind.
The humour in it was great I thought. As was the actors.
