I know... and he's going around all day looking for it. I even sneaked to the toy shop but they have none left

Looks like a 5 team race if spurs and arsenal can win their next games

This is clearly not a foregone conclusion for us. Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea will give us a tough battle for a top 4 finish. We better buckle up and get our act together or it could get ugly.

Important match against Arsenal next Wednesday.

Youse are going to have to fight for it now. Even Everton are above you in the form table and with a better goal difference too.

Looking at the teams we’re competing against to get top 4 and the way we’re playing. We don’t have a fu***** chance.

United only three points ahead of us in fourth and right in the scrap now.

Looks hard to call going into 2018. Five teams going for three spots.

4 IMO. Don't think Arsenal has a shot at all.

I think we’ll break away from the pack after we beat Arsenal and a other results for Liverpool and United go in our favor

It is crazy. After the 19th game we were 8 points clear of fifth. Tomorrow that could be down to 4.

Wenger does seem to be good at dragging Arsenal to around 75 points, which may or may not be enough this season.

They need it this year because if they don’t and lose Sánchez/Özil then I can see them going into a decline.

5th - 7th has been our level for the past 5 years. I wrongly expected it will be different this year but we have reverted to our true level. The scary part is that the teams above us already have clear transfer targets to stay ahead while we have no direction as a club.

December. Mutha fecking December. You're all being cock sure of second in December.:wenger:

If Spurs and Arsenal win their games in hand as expected that leaves Utd only 4 points from last season's finishing position. :nervous:

Arguably they've been on a decline for years. For them to go into a decline would be to drop out of the top 6 which I don't see them doing even if they lose Sanchez and Ozil. Wenger has enough know how and will spend some money (probably not enough to compete for a top 3 spot) to remain a top 6 club.

They're competing for top 4 now this season anyway.

I would be shocked out if 2 out of Spurs, United or Liverpool missed out on top 4 at the cost of Arsenal. They are just not as good.

I think our early run flattered us to be honest. But yeah the recent run is not a good reflection either. We're playing miserable football.

Absolutely no way Arsenal finishes in the top 4, Sanchez is leaving in January so they won’t have any late goals to pull them out of dire moments.

    -City
    -Chelsea
-Liverpool (may drop with the return of the CL)
    -United
    -Spurs
    -Burnley
    -Arsenal

Forum supporters are known for quickly changing agenda... A few bad results for any of the top 6 and panic "they're done, no top 4, no future" appear all over the place. Utd have a bad run, but all of the top 6 will have them at some point.
Arsenal looks the weakest of the pack at the moment, if they cash on any of Sanchez/Ozil in Jan they're definitely done. 1st place is done, 6th is probably Arsenal. Out of the rest any club can find themselves outside of top 4 as of now. And I think this judgement will be fair untill April at least.

Spurs will be tough, well, everything will be tough, but we're still favourites in every other game.

Too early to rule out Arsenal's, or anyone's "top four" chances. Their standard of performance isn't going to dramatically change without Sanchez (they might actually function as a team) and they usually do the minimum to push for fourth place.

Exactly. It's too early to tell anything. Any one of us could finish second or sixth.

That’s a very tough run for a team that’s just started struggling to break teams down. Don’t envy that run at all. The next four are all sides capable of being relatively resolute; suspect the last two will be comfortable.

We lost to Huddersfield earlier on in the season. I'm not looking forward to any of them at the moment.

If Spurs beat Wham, they will be only 4 pts behind United. And they host United in January.

I'd still rather be in our position than Liverpool, Spurs or Arsenal's

Granted we need to turn our form around and fast though because we've given the lesser likes a chance they didn't have a week ago

I don't see us winning at Everton on our current form and their form. Rooney is probably going to score a couple goals and kick us down to 4th.

Spurs for some reason seem to get stagefright when they play us so we may surprisingly avoid a loss there.

I know this sounds absolutely crazy but I'd rather we finish 3rd than come 2nd to City. It makes the table look even more painful and I don't want us to have a reputation of a 2nd best team. There is absolutely no difference between 2nd and 3rd. You get automatic CL qualification. 4th means qualifiers and nobody wants those especially in a World Cup year which makes it tougher.

Be a miracle if our slender leads over Spurs/Liverpool are intact after that lot. We'll have to outperform them in the run in.

Don't think Chelsea are good either and they'll lose a lot more points so second is anyone's guess. We are pretty shite in reality and have been well and truly sucked into a top four battle. It's quite sad considering we should have been aiming for 7 points minimum from our last three games but contrived to somehow get three.
