I've been reminding people of Arsenal's away form all season in this thread but I've got a feeling they're going to win tomorrow, which'll be really shit for us

Come on Arsenal, win tomorrow. Don't feck up all of our good work today.

They could both still be in it by the time the PL ends though, which would play heavily on their minds going in to final round(s) of fixtures - Emery/Sarri might rest players ahead of a final.

The final is on 29/5, the PL season ends on 12/5.

Plot twist may be Arsenal only drawing at home to Palace. That might be a dangerous game for them as it comes just three days after Napoli away and Palace are miles better on the road than at Selhurts.

If Arsenal as expected win their two home games I think they can get away with just 5 points on the road as their GD is so much better than Chelsea and Man. United it's an extra point at this stage. Most winnable away for them remains Burnley although will see if Watford mentally ease off in the league as so many cup final teams do.

Wow really, was there that much of a gap when we reached it? No run in affect for them so :(

No chance they don’t win their two home games. Also 5 points from their away games really might not be enough if we win 4 of our last 5 and lose the other one. I’d say they need 7 points from 12 in their away games to be sure of top 4. If they lose a total of 6 points over their remaining 6 games we’re in a good position.

If Watford beat Arsenal tomorrow then top 4 is in completely in our hands. Massive game.

I'd love to see us and Spurs get top 4, and Arsenal and Chelsea meet in the EL final. Spicy.

More likely though we lose to Chelsea and get spanked by City.

What happens if Chelsea or Arsenal win the Europa ?

Does 5th place come into effect regarding the Champions League if either of the above two finish in the top four ?

Then we have the top 4 + winner of EL in CL next year. Only way it affects us is if the winner of CL and winner of EL both don't finish in the top 4, in which case 4th place drops out into EL.

The only silver lining if we get knocked out against Barcelona is that we know where our eggs are there - the top 4 or nothing basket. I know the chances of us winning the CL is slim irregardless but still.

Assuming Arsenal beat Watford tomorrow, which is hardly a forgone conclusion - this time next week we could see Tottenham lose to City at the Etihad, which would get us on equal points as Spurs assuming we beat Everton.

That City game is huge. If City beat us, then chances are they should trickle their way to the title. A draw fecks both of us.

No but they could both make the final thinking that they could win it (they will avoid each other in the semi finals right?)

Watford strike me as the type of team to completely ease off now before the cup final.

I've been talking about how poor arsenal are away but I also think they'll get something tomorrow.

I’m feeling rather good about our chances actually.

Arsenal will drop a fair few points between now and the end of the season.

Troy Deeney is going to be up for a game against Arsenal to show who's a real man.

They will be playing each midweek if they reach the final from now until the end of season. How many more games do you want them to have?!

It's all well and good thinking/expecting Chelsea and Arsenal to drop some more points and for what it's worth, I think this will be the outcome. At least 4-5 dropped points each. The problem however, is that I think we will drop a similar amount of points based on current performance levels, so we'll do incredibly well to sneak 4th from here.

Our form is simply not good enough to get top four, it’s up for grabs but we look woeful. Maybe by some miracle we might scrape it but it’ll be lucky and ugly.

I think we'll drop points against Everton, City and Chelsea which will close the door. Our performance levels in the last two months have been shocking and I don't see this set of players flicking a switch.

In PL, our form is as good as any competing for top 4 positions.

    In the last 6 games,
    Spurs - 3 losses, 1 draw and 2 wins
    Chelsea - 2 losses, 1 draw and 3 wins
    ManUtd - 2 losses, 4 wins
    Arsenal - 1 loss, 1 draw and 4 wins.

You can talk like that if you want, but our performances are dirt and our fixtures are hard, it'll be impressive playing like we are if we can make top 4.

People will say this because they watch us every week and not our opposition. We look poor but are roughly matching or bettering our direct opponents in this mini-league. I just get the feeling that we will have to play better than we are in the final five games to reach this target.

Chelsea and Arsenal are absolutely woeful away from home and have some of the tougher away games left, are they going to suddenly flip that? Probably not, but if we aren't clinical we won't have enough to finish above the pair of them, probably just one of them.

    Remaining Fixtures:-

Man United: Currently on 64 points
    April 21. Everton (A)
    April 24. Man City (H)
    April 28. Chelsea (H)
    May 05. Huddersfeild (A)
    May 12. Cardiff City (H)
    (My prediction is 73 points)

Tottenham Hotspur: Currently on 67 points
    April 20. Man City (A)
    April 23. Brighton (H)
    April 27. West Ham (H)
    May 06. Bournmouth (A)
    May 12. Everton (H)
    (My prediction is 79 points)

    Chelsea: Currently on 66 points
    April 22. Burnley (H)
    April 28. Man United (A)
    May 04. Watford (H)
    May 12. Leicester (A)
    (My prediction is 73 points)

    Arsenal: Currently on 63 points
    April 15. Watford (A)
    April 21. Crystal Palace (H)
    April 24. Wolves (A)
    April 29. Leicester (A)
    May 04. Birghton (H)
    May 12. Burnley (A)
    (My prediction is 72 points)

If United could win at Everton which looks really difficult on current forms of the two clubs, then they can feel a bit easy otherwise we are doomed from Top 4.

Arsenal need to win this game I think.

Even if they win their two homes and Burnley and draw this 73 points isn't going to be enough so they'd likely require a win from Wolves or Leicester away. Both hit and miss teams but would cause Arsenal lots of issues if they play their usual game.

Just seen Sokratis is out of next two with 10 yellows so you also have Mugstafi at CB for next two to bring down the quality level even more.

I’d take a loss at home right now v the Berties and no Top 4 and City to win the league rather than us finish fourth and Liverpool win the league.

I couldn’t give a rats ass about fourth, third, sixth or 10th. First or nothing.

Nobody cares about finishing fourth, but being in the CL is attractive. Been shit this year at home, but we can quickly become competitive in it.

Arsenal looked poor tonight, but got the win. We need to make sure we're within a point or 2 behind and in at least 5th going into the last 2 games of the season. Only then will I think we can make it.

Massive 3 points tonight ! We're in a good position considering there's still United-Chelsea to be played.
    April 21. Crystal Palace (H) W
    April 24. Wolves (A) D
    April 29. Leicester (A) W
    May 04. Birghton (H) W
    May 12. Burnley (A) W
The Wolves game will be pivotal, i think we'll draw and win the rest. We also need to finish the job in Naples. Hopefully Chelsea fecks it up in the semis and we avoid playing them to have a chance at a trophy.
Third and the EL would be a brilliant season considering the state of the squad ! Even "only" finishing third would be good for Emery's first season.

    Arsenal were lucky barstewards tonight!

Foster plays like a GOAT 'keeper against us, blunders against Arsenal and Watford get a player sent off.

Despite all our efforts, I just don't think we're going to quite do it - thanks to Jose.

Will be really hard now though. Need to win the rest of our games probably. Of course Arsenal have not impressed away from home, but they don't have the hardest games left.
Wolves have done well against the top sides, but I think they might not be as good now as they was earlier in the season.

Still think the games look quite easy for Arsenal, but yes for some reason they are really bad away from home. I don't think they should keep that up though.

Think we have room for a draw against City, have to win the rest though. Arsenal will end between 74 and 77 points IMO.

Second best to 10 man Watford has given you the confidence that Arsenal are going to go unbeaten between now and the end of the season? Wish Man Utd supporters on this forum were as 'optimistic' as you
