Well we have the poorest goal difference amongst 4 teams fighting for top 4 we need help from others for top 4 while winning our match against Chelsea at home which is crucial.

Also finishing 4 th may not be enough if both epl teams win European competitons.

Only way we miss out on CL if we're 4th is if spurs win the CL and finish 5th and 6th place wins Europa league.

We need Herrera back if we are to finish 4th.

If we have nothing to play for when City come to town, we'll roll over and hand City 3 points in their "toughest" remaining fixture.

Then that isn't in your hands. It's in Arsenal's hands if they win all their remaining games. Also they just won away.
You should be trying to win against City if you want to make top 4.

Don't lose to City and win the other ones the rest will take care of itself.

I don't know what's more annoying the unjustified blind faith from the Arsenal and Chelsea supporters or the miserable fecking Man Utd ones

We're 2 points of 4th and all I see here is doom and gloom.

Same here. I think Liverpool will win it (said it in February) unfortunately...luck, late goals, quality & passion etc. Pep's priority is the ECL. The only chance is if Tottenham kick City out of the ECL IMO. I think they'll have to do all their best to win the EPL then.
We don't get Top 4 this season (hope I'm wrong).

Well i was optimistic against you, optimistic against Spurs and almost got the win and even though i was a bit worried of going to Watford i was still optimistic. It's working out alright for now so i'll keep being optimistic while you make a mission out of being the perfectly balanced opinioned fan and hope for other teams to drop points, thank you very much. Come on Arsenal ! ;)

That's a big task. We play so poor at home and we have got Chelsea and city at home.

And if ever we get through tomorrow then another headache to bother about:lol:. We have to literally play pogba at no 10 and 2 holding midfielders in Mctominay and Herrera or Matic behind him in the league.

We need pogba on that form after Jose was sacked if we are to get champions league next season. Hope we get help from Sanchez as well.

OK, I'm seeing alot of "we will roll over to city" to stop Liverpool winning the league.

Do you think DDG or Pogba or any player at united want to roll over against city just to stop Liverpool winning the league?

And guarantee their slot in Europa league??
Never mind Ole and everyone on the board of united.

Fact is, fans opinion on the city game means sweet FA. Your players are going to play City, and your players are going to try their best to win. So that they can play in the CL next season.

Leicester burnley wolves away. Arsenal winning all of those looks very difficult.

Man City, Liverpool and Spurs will make the top 3. To be honest Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd played so bad recently so the 4th place is still up for grabs.

Tottenham play against city and without Harry kane for rest of the season i think. Its not so easy for them as well.

If we don't beat Chelsea we don't deserve the top 4. beaten away to City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves by aggregate scores of 17-2. There's no reason not to beat Everton either. They're extremely open and careless at defending.

Spurs are clearly better without kane in the team. You can quote me on that too and the following.

Kane is doing a sturridge, unfortunately.

Spurs have great attacking talent in son moura and alli. Them 3 will fire spurs to 3rd.

What spurs invest in the summer though, will be critical for their future.

I literally did not. "chance of a trophy" means i was talking about the Europa League if the notion of "in the semis" didn't give enough clues. There is no more points to drop in the knockout stage ;) United-Chelsea means somebody will drop points, it's just a fact unless both teams can win ?

Absolutely, Leicester and Wolves will be hell for us and we won't get tonight's luck every week but i feel we can do it.Torreira + Xhaka are back after a spell out (injury or suspension), Aubameyang have a very good shot at the golden boot, Ramsey wants to finish his Arsenal career on a high and has been giving very solid performances lately. If the group stays fit for the final stretch then why not.
    I'm 'optimistic' :wenger:

Arsenal are still going to drop minimum 3 and probably 5 points away from home. I think if we win all our remaining games aside from City we have a good chance.

They were really lucky tonight, not only with the goal but probably most of all with Deeney’s red card. Watford were at least drawing this with full team.

Thing is though that we need to draw with City and win the rest to get 77. Agree Arsenal will likely drop 4/5 points til the end, but that still leaves them on 76/77 points. We need 13/15 remaining to get to 77 and not miss out on goal differential which we will otherwise. It'll be incredibly tough. Ole has done a terrific job getting us close but whether it's because of the 26 points after 17 games, or the 0 goal differential after 17 games, Mourinho's first half of the season is why we'll likely miss out.

I would say players sulking against arsenal and wolves. Had we collected even 3-4 points out of that we were top 4 material.

I can see us dropping points to Everton unfortunately, these feckers always raise their game against us for some weird reason even during SAF days. Our record at Goodison Park is bad as well. The irony is that as soon as we drop points there, top 4 is essentially finished so I can see us giving the 3 points to City to stop Liverpool from winning the league so to Everton, if you don't want Liverpool to win the league, give us the 3 points. You lot also have nothing to play for anyway.

Sulking against Arsenal? We missed chance after chance. Was just one of those things that happen after a long run of wins. Since Ole has come in, we've collected points pretty much on par with City and Liverpool. You really can't ask for any more than that. Dropped points will always happen, but none of this can be blamed on anything since Ole has come in. It's all the 5 months before he joined.

You keep believing that if it gives you hope...

Even on the offchance that you're right, we're not good enough to beat City right now.

They win, no matter how you slice it.

Well, you keep denying it. Fans' opinion on who to win the league means nothing to players/mercenaries who want to be playing at the top table.

Nobody at united that have a say in how they play football are going to throw the game.

If you can't accept that then that's your problem. You are right about one thing, city are head and shoulders above united.

But you beat them last season, when they were again head and shoulders better than united. I've got united for a win, for good reasons.

Spurs are best placed, but I am not sure about any of these 4 teams. They still have Bournemouth away and West Ham/Everton are not automatic either. All 4 teams are going in with questionable form, so it's hard to predict.

We beat City after they had effectively already won the league. Their match against us is a must win. We are in very poor form. We lost to Wolves twice. We lost to Arsenal. We lost to Barcelona and PSG at home (both weaker than City). We may win, but it is unlikely if you look at it objectively.

You've got United down for a win because that's what you want to happen, nothing more.

On current form, I don't see us winning against Everton, Chelsea and Man City.

I'm sure a lot of people will want to believe that we can still make it but I'm definitely not optimistic about it.

Quoting my own post here from Oct 28th as it goes to show how far we have come under Ole to be in the conversation. Jose really did everything in his capacity to sabotage our season. It's is a minor miracle that with 5 games left in the season we are only 2 points behind.

    The current situation:

    Spurs - 33P 67Pts 30GD
    Arsenal - 33P 66Pts 26GD
    Chelsea - 34P 66Pts 21GD
    United - 33P 64Pts 19GD

Spurs will make the top 3. They have 3 home and 2 away games remaining. City (a) is their toughest fixture. Rest are all winnable for them. Brighton, West Ham, Bournemouth (a), Everton - can't see them lose any, at most a draw somewhere.

Arsenal are most likely to get the last spot. Palace, Wolves (a), Leicester (a), Brighton & Burnley (a) is the easiest set of fixtures of any of the four teams. Wolves' & Leicester's desire to make the Europa spot is our best hope.

Chelsea have us away as their toughest fixture. Remaining games - Burnley, United (a), Watford, Leicester (a). Leicester last game should be interesting.

Our fixture list - Everton (a), City, Chelsea, Huddrsfield (a) & Cardiff - is the toughest of any team. Performances have gone to shit. Need wins in the games against Everton & Chelsea. Simply cannot afford to drop any points in the Chelsea game. Don't think we can make the top 4 without beating Chelsea and winning our 3 easier (relatively) fixtures. Then it's hoping for Leicester and Wolves to do us a favor.

Anyone know what happens if we finish 4th but one of Chelsea or Arsenal win Europa? We still get CL, right? They created an extra spot for Europa winner, iirc.

    My prediction:

    Spurs - 3rd
    Arsenal - 4th
    United - 5th
    Chelsea - 6th (& Europa winners)
