Deeney is full of it. Ozil missed a chance. They scored from a scandalous penalty decision. Offside winner that coincided with Xhaka falling asleep, (Wenger should send him to the reserves for that, but he won't) That is how they won the game, not by out-muscling or bullying us. If grit and toughness is all you need to succeed in this league then why don't Stoke and Watford challenge for Europa league places? Why have Man City won the league recently and may do so again this year? Their players aren't any less mollycoddled than ours. We just aren't good enough and Wenger/the board refuses to buy us the players we need to compete. Even some supporters thought this squad was good enough to challenge with one or two additions or Wenger is holding the team back. Wenger is holding the club back sure but this group of players are as good as they're going to get. No back up wing backs, poor depth in midfield and a lack of future planning with several players out of contract next summer, a world cup summer with no replacements in sight. Similarly, for all Deeney's talk, whenever an Arsenal player does try to be a bit hard or go in for a tackle, he usually gets booked or sent off. Referees couldn't wait to send Xhaka off last season. Its hard to be a tough tackling team when referees are far less lenient on you than they are other teams.
