Some interesting names in the Italy and Portugal squads. Spain loaded with FM wonderkids as always, but it's a good chance for Gray and Hughes to earn some reputation.

Spain have the best squad for me, then Italy and Portugal on a similar level behind them. Germany have taken too many players to the confed cup, not impressed. England is ok, but have no chance against the big boys

Napoli blocked Milik and Zielinski from Poland...

In the Czech team, have a look to Schick, that was quite a crack in last serie A and he is rumored to join Juventus next year

Zivkovic is highly rated. Benfica fans like him but they have about 10 thousand wingers in their squad so it's tough for him to play much, next season he should get more game time. Jovic is playing for the B team.

I dont know about Zivkovic, but jovic and saponjic from what i have read haven't lived up to there price and there is paper talk of jovic to germany.

Some serious young players in the Portuguese, Spanish and Italian squads

    Fancy England to win it.

Spain are a weird side at u21 level. Their XI for the past couple of years has constantly looked better than most countries Proper National team on paper but they play very poorly together. Usually manage to sneak the result though.

Is there an interesting story behind Macedonia qualifying?

France despite being very good at every youth level haven't qualified for the U21 Euros in 10 years (this is the 6th edition in a row they're missing), this time they fecked it up by finishing one point behind Macedonia. I don't know if there's an interesting story but looking at their qualification on wikipedia it seems like they got a few late goals going their way - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_UEFA_European_Under-21_Championship_qualification_Group_3

Spain are on another level imo, my Italy have good chance to reach the final and I'm curious to see which player will play RW between Berardi and Bernardeschi.
It's a pity that Napoli didnt let Zielinski and Milik join Poland, they would have been a good squad.

    Spain's squad looks excellent.

As for England. I don't rate this group too highly. I'm hoping to see Abraham do well and am interested to see how Baker does after a strong season in Holland.

Incredible that Chabolah is still getting youth caps!!

It has been a great summer for England so far with the 17s missing out on the Euro title by a hairs breath and the 20s in the semis of World Cup. I want to see the 21s get to the semis.

Looks like England have a decent squad there, must have a chance of getting to the later stages. Mind you, one thing you could say we are lacking is goals

Regarding Portugal it is fair to say if Rui Jorge made better choices for centerbacks, choosing players like Domingos Duarte or Fabio Cardoso, instead the miserable Esgar Ié or Tobias Figueiredo I would be more relaxed.

Also if Gelson Martins, Andre Silva were in this squad I would say we were going to fight for the title without any problem, of course is always hard to predict.

Imo Spain is the favourite in our group and we will fight for the second place with Servia, knowing that Macedonia will create problems for all the teams on the group.

I don't know much about England, but looking at the players that will play for Italy it looks to me the best squads in this tournament are Spain and Italy, and then England, maybe Germany, Portugal or Servia will compete, and also I am curious about Denmark.

Abraham hit 26 for Bristol this season and has 2 in 2 for the 21s so far. Baker hit 15 from midfield for Vitesse this season and has 7 in 13 for the 21s.

Yep I'm aware Abraham had a good season in the Championship, he's completely unproven in the top flight or even at this level though. Chris Wood and Glenn Murray both hit as many goals which shows you the quality of that league. I've always rated Baker to be fair. I guess my point is we don't have attackers who have experience / scored goals in a top league, whereas you look at the Spain, Italy and Germany squads and they do.

Our Under 21s have always been very strong in the past so it's time to do it again.

Who are England strikers? They look to have many midfielders, but no striker :D

Some of the bigger nations have quite a few senior capped players in their squads, so I can't see England reaching the final.

Wow that Spain squad has about 20 players who can go on to do big things meanwhile I dont even see one in that England team who I am confident in saying will be a great player.

We need to build more of a culture of winning internationally at all levels. I wouldnt mind seeing Rashford, Sterling, Stones etc drop down to strengthen the team and help build players with championship pedigree.

Nah, I'd rather Rashford have a summer off, he's played like 50 games this season and he's 19.

As if Ward-Prowse and Redmond are 22 and 23 respectively.

Both seem to have been around for ages.
