Was that the best game of the season so far?

I know Pogba's sending off put a bit of a damper on it for us. But the entire game was insane, end-to-end shit. Brave decision by both managers to just keep going at it, especially Mourinho after we'd already taken the lead. Some shit defending also added to the excitement, as well as some magnificent keeping.

Best game in the premier league so far, though I wouldn't want to do it again

That was fecking great! We're so exciting when the shackles are off.

Also, our defending was atrocious in the first half, has to be said. So nervy, so many poor clearances, so little composure. Attackers bailing us out at last!

It was one of the best games I have seen in P.L history....we were brilliant, Arsenal were brilliant (and in fairness didn't deserve to lose either)

Very entertaining game -- keeping 2 strikers up with Lingard also playing quite high was the type of thing we need to do in top 6 matches more. Setting up too defensively essentially sets the target to 'not lose' rather than win.

Still... It can be hard to stop the game getting totally end-to-end like it got. We needed more composure on the ball when we smashed them for 2 goals within 15 minutes.

In terms of excitement for sure.

In terms of performance I think that's one of the worst we've put in as a side and we were bailed out by some good individual performances.

    Crucial win.

Shades of classic Arsenal vs United games but without the bad blood.

That continued in the second half too. Only difference was we were having to do so much more of it in the second half that it kinda got lost in the maelstrom.

I mean,, how many times did we clear the ball into a more dangerous position?!?!?!

Stats from the game. Thank God we had De Gea. Brave performance from us and good counter-attacking play but on another day we would have gotten slaughtered.

Really good game until like maybe the 70th minute, after we went 3-1 up... then it was like a normal game

That first half was very exciting

Pogba is one of the best players and he showed that today. I know ifs and buts do not apply but if he was available against chelsea and liverpool we could have done well.

    Brilliant game today.

De Gea, Valencia, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Lukaku and Smalling all played well. How is that being bailed out? We were resilient in the second half. We attacked well too.

You know as well as I do that if we had a more human keeper this forum would be a cesspit of abuse right now.

As I said we had a lot of individual performances, but when you give up as many chances as we did today there's no way you can say we put it all together into a good team performance.

For any neutral it's one of the best games this season.

For me I could have a heart attack during the match at any moment.:nervous:

Todays game was just so damn much emotions. Still drained, but too happy to go to sleep yet :).

It was the game of the season so far no doubt in the premier league for a neutral watcher in particular.

    For a neutral probably.

For us no because it was just totally bonkers shit where we didnt bother with a midfield battle and spent 80% of the game defending it seemed.

Erm the whole point of signing a world class goalkeeper is for him to make world class saves.

The early goals surprised us. Mustafi going off was a big a blow for us as Arsenal then went for broke.

We scored 3 goals at the Emirates. We stopped their 12 match win streak there. It’s madness to suggest we weren’t very good. Of course Arsenal are going to create chances at home. What do you expect them to do?

When they scored to make it 2-1 I was shitting bricks. First time I've felt like that watching United for a while. I missed that feeling, at the same time I hope it fecks off and I never have to experience it again.

I don’t know, I kinda hate it when we don’t control games and we certainly did not in this one. We looked too disorganised in midfield. The attacking by both teams was good and big dave’s performance was just

No, it's madness to suggest we didn't ride our luck.

We got a great result, but it was a long way from a great performance.

I can't class a game where we conceded 33 shots on goal as a good (is that a record for us in the PL?). The final result is what made it great.

    For the neutral yes.

Best game yes. But wouldn't want us to be part of such a game again. I'd much rather take the 1-0 win like we had over Spurs.

It's a good thing Arsenal didn't score in the first half. Then it might have been 8-2 revisited. In the second half as soon as they scored, we went up the pitch and added another to our tally.

    We controlled the game throughout.

I went to a pub to watch it with a mate who is an Arsenal fan, and the pub itself was a good mix of Arsenal and United fans. The volume in there was absolutely insane throughout the game. Best game i've seen in a long time

What? It was a very good performance and if it was City people would be going crazy about it. We won at Emirates after Arsenal had won all their previous games there this season and were in great shape going into the game, and we scored some great team goals.

No doubt bout it. 2 goals in the first minutes. End to end. Big Dave’s saves ! Some magical moments like Pogba’s athleticism and skill, and Martial’s Messi-like exquisite magic. And the red card. And Koscielny’s....

Pogba and Lingard made a big, big, big difference today, compared to when we had Herrera and Mkhi in the previous big games this season, especially Mkhi was simply a liability.

If City had won a game 3-1 with 4 shots on target, 25% possession, their keeper equalling the league record for saves and getting away with 3 penalty shouts this forum would be, rightly, whinging about how lucky they were.

It was a great result, and you'd take it every day of the week, but it wasn't a great performance.

Definitely, absolute mayhem for 90mins, end to end stuff and real backs-to-the-wall defending for WAY too long.
Huge, huge, win. Well done, Jose.

Easily, that was easily the best game of the season and our vulnerability at the back made it so exciting...We have to remember the fact that we are without our 2 best centre backs, and not too many teams in this league can cope with that....Once Jones and Bailly come back,I expect us to be more solid....

De Gea is from another planet. Lindelöf is out of his depth - Bailly the sooner the better! Smalling was brilliant - deserves more praise than he gets. Pogba's best match for the club so far (before the moment of madness). Don't lose faith - Lukaku is the man! Great tactical performance all down to José Mourinho.

So that's how it must have been felt like being an opposite team fan who plays against us during LVG era.

In all seriousness, I'm over the moon with the result. While the stats look poor for us - we got the job done in brave matter and got a final win against one of our biggest rivals. Nothing to complain about.
