It has proved to Chelsea fans that money can buy you a title. And the below argument is complete bollox.

(this was after Arsenal beat City, which was looked as the end of City's league charge)

I wonder what they say now?

that right player, right manager, right mindset, right spirit bullshit; comes from that money.

While some say City won because United bottled it. Well City did their job in that department as well.

    Yeah I'm struggling here

Money can buy you titles... City have untold billions at their disposal... but there is a silver lining to this, which is that it proves to Chelsea that money can buy you titles.

    Is that right?

I read somewhere that our first XI against City cost more than theirs. Surely that's not true?

EDIT: Actually feck that, there's no way in hell it's true, carry on.

So the silver lining is that one guy from the internet - a Chelsea fan, no less - is proved wrong? Talk about pyrrhic victories.

Don't think so. I saw someone post elsewhere that United have spent like £500 million since the PL began, whereas City have spent that much in the last 3 or 4 seasons.

So this is good because a Chelsea fan now realizes that money can buy you a title?

    Good for who?

    What?

This reminds me of my favourite Jamie Redknapp cliche abusing moment:

Jamie "You just can't buy that sort of experience"
    Andy Gray "Yes you can"
    Jamie "Well........yes"

It's a moral victory. Or a defeat. Depends on which way you look at it really.

This reminds me of that 'there's a bad side to racism too' comment someone wrote.
