six points behind the leader, a leader that from 20 premier leagues already won 13
knowing that still need to beat manchester united at home -a tie is not enough- and newcastle away?

this is like when the fans say that a 2 goals advantage is the worst result

i have never saw a team cheer that second goal against :nono:

I wouldn't want to support a team that plays in that shite light blue colour.

The title won't be decided on goal difference so if City win it it'll mean they've not only beaten us but we've slipped up elsewhere as well

    Title still in our hands

Next Monday I´m off work and it´ll be a party at a mates. Hopefully the reds win and I´d rather be in our position. Walking home singing WE`RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE would be fantastic

I'd still rather be in our position. They've got to win next week; we can afford to come away with a draw from it. That's one of the major differences.

If this is in response to the moaning, trying to put things in perspective it's missing the point. We were 8 ahead before Wigan. We've completely lost our momentum and let City sniff blood.

Anyone who claims we have thrown it away needs to take a chill pill. If we perform against City we are still firmly in the driving seat

Its really even stevens. We can afford a draw, but I think the fact that they have home advantage and momentum sort of cancels that out.

We've still got the advantage but we seem determined to waste it. I'd take our position any day though.

At this stage, City have to win all their 4 games , no choice.

We have one less game, and we have a choice of winning 2 and drawing 1 and against teams which aren't playing for much.So we dont "have to" win all three.

So clearly it gives us the edge.

Saying that I might just not be brave enough to watch the match next week.

The only reason why it would be preferable to be in their position is because the league is ours to throw away and our players are in danger of doing that, which would be difficult to live down. So I ask all our players to fecking stop with the bottling and get the one more win needed at the Etihad!

In case anyone has forgotten, if we win our next match (easier said than some, yes) the league is all but over.

Look, we're still in the best position. It's not a given to win against Manchester United, even at home, not for any team. And City needs to win at Newcastle, which they'll never do when the pressure is on.

I predicted a couple of weeks ago that we'd draw against Everton, and that City would win both the Norwich and Wolves-game.

Rest of the matches for me:

    Wolves-City 0-3

    City - United 2-1

    Newcastle - City 2-1
    United - Swansea 2-0

    City - QPR 3-0
    Sunderland - United 1-1

We win the league by a point, and that's me being very conservative with the rest of our matches.

We have a much bigger advantage. If we win we only need to get a draw from our final 2 games. If we draw we only need to get 4 points from our final 2 games.

If they win they still need to win their final 2 games.

I reckon we'll beat Sunderland, they're on their holidays, they cant score goals, half their team is out. Them being at Newcastle is by far the harder game.

Because City have a GD that's +4 better than us. They beat Wolves, let's say 1-0, and then they beat us by one goal. Now we've got a 7 goal difference to make up over the last two games. That just won't happen. Of course it can happen mathematically but you know it won't.

I think both teams would rather be in their own position. Both teams have it in their own hands. City being at home will be an advantage to them of course.

Its funny how everybody is already conceding the three points at Etihad next week like its a given.

If we didn't look like a nervous, scared gutless pile of bottlers I'd say our position is very strong.

It's still good but feck me, we're close to doing an arsenal, which I never thought I'd witness us doing under Fergal.

We did one in 1998 though the injuries destroyed us that season. This one feels like 2009 and we won that year.

We have still a slight advantage but we need a draw at City at least and win our other 2 matches. Perhaps Newcastle can do us a favour as no one else will.

Well I am sure madrid fans felt much better after winning the title at barca(practically) than they would have the easy way. So thats a positive way of looking at things.

Always better to have the points on the board in my opinion but in terms of current form and confidence City will probably beat us next week

It's also now in City's hands now. They know if they win all 3 remaining matches, the likelihood is they will have won the league. I don't see us closing the goal difference gap if City win all their matches either.

The other thing I suppose they have that we don't is momentum.

The difference is three points.. I don't have a preference when it comes to which position is better.. I'd rather have to win home than draw away probably, but it doesn't matter.. The only thing that matters now is how we show up next Monday..

Also, having faith does not mean we should be delusional.. We clearly lost our advantage, let's have faith that we can regain it.. But we are not the favorites anymore. Deal with it.

I think defending a lead can be tricky as it can cause indecision with the gameplan. City know exactly what they have to do. Still don't know who is in the most favourable position though.
