There's been a lot of talk about the issues with our LB position and rightly so. Lately however, Shaw seems to be returning to form and we've been linked with Alex Sandro, one of the best in the world, so it seems like we're preparing to sort out that position in the near future.

I can't say the same for the right-hand side though. The last RB we were properly linked to was Nelson Semedo and it's been pretty quiet since. At the moment, we aren't struggling too much with both Young and Valencia as solid options, but with both being in their 30s, a decline can't be too far off. I can't see us going into next season without an addition (especially as Darmian seems to be off). A new RW and RB could transform our attack, so it's essential we upgrade the position. Who do we think would be a good buy?

That PSG lad is pretty good and he said he loves UTD. Could be a good shout.

Meunier would be the dream RB signing, hopefully PSG have some fancy South American option they want to replace Alves with and will sell him to us.

Fosu-Mensah deserves his chance. I know he’s not even 20 yet, but he had a very strong game v Sane yesterday and his pace and physicality would be welcomed.

Meunier would be a dream signing, but with Alves also in his 30s, PSG probably have plans for Meunier as his successor. If they don't want to sell, it'll be impossible to sign him (as seen with Verratti). Shame, as he's a United fan.

I would have said Aurier a few months ago.

But now I think we should be looking at Sidibe.

TFM. If he played for another club we'd be raving about the lad. Valencia still has a couple of years left in him.

Yeah, he's a good option. Had a great game against City. Only issue is if he's better suited to CB.

Yes recall him in the summer and let him rotate with Valencia for another year and then hopefully he will make the position his own.

I think Meunier is better for us. IMO, we need right back first before we get right forwarder. Right forwarder needs a service support from fullback.

TFM seems to be improving a lot - his positioning was shocking whenever I watched him play at the back for us, but he's really growing at Palace. Would not be too gutted if we gave him the chance to make it his position.

I would get Fabhino because he plays right back and cdm. He could rotate on the right with Timbo and also switch with Matic and play in the midfield as well. The guy is very versatile.

TFM isn't a right back. He was very good against City there, but he is much better centrally.

Where have people seen Fosu-Mensah play centrally to say that he is better there? Iirc, he for red-carded in the only game Van Gaal played him there. Was he an excellent CB for our youth teams?

Meunier looks to be the perfect option. Links very well with Lukaku in NT.

TFM can do it, if we decide he’s a right back. If not, I’ll agree with Meunier. Sidibe gives the option of playing both FB roles well though.

Valencia/Young and then the backups already in the squad. We need a LB.

He started of at Crystal Palace playing centrally where on the whole he was pretty good. Also has had cameo central appearances for us in which I liked him, especially as a midfielder.

Djibril Sidibe at Monaco has looked good when I've watched him for both club and France, and we know Monaco are a selling club. I wonder if Bayern would entertain a bid for Kimmich? He's pretty decent.

Surprised to see so many TFM mentions. He’s really poor going forward imo and his crossing is worse than Luke Shaw. Good athlete and tackler though a bit too much of it last ditch for my liking. Definately not convinced he’s the answer long term

    I agree.

I believe we should sign a RB and loan out TFM again next season. The season after Valencia can be sold and TFM can return to challenge the new RB we sign. As you've mentioned his attacking game is way below the required level for a top team at this moment in time.

Of course his attacking needs to improve but he is a 19 year old player learning a somewhat ‘new’ position. Learn to defend first and then the attack will follow.
You would also have to question how much he can attack for a poor Crystal Palace team, that spend most of their time deep defending.

Muenier would be the dream however I'm also a bit of a romantic so I'd love to see what TFM/Tuanzebe could do there with an extended run in the team.

I think he's a CB. The composure and subtlety of passing in possession and dribbling you need at fullback these days is likely asking a lot of him. I think we'll buy an LB this summer to compete with Shaw, sell Darmian and Valencia and Young will be the RBs for next year and by the end of it it'll be clear we need to buy a proper solution there like Semedo woulda been.

Muenier or Florenzi, preferrably the prior as Italians aren't historically great in the Prem.

Too risky to have TFM as our first choice RB for next season. Yes he has great potential. but he's only really played RB about 15-20 times. He still has a lot to learn in that position before he can be considered as a first choice option here. I wouldn't mind seeing him rotate with someone next season, whether that be Valencia or a new signing.

Yes, have anyone been following TFM every game? Good news is that he seems to be starting games now, so by next summer, Mourinho can decide whether he is good enough to be backup to Valencia or not. I hope he does, with Lindelof as 3rd choice

Meunier from PSG to rotate with Valencia. Young Shaw on the left. TFM to have another loan, still not sure he's a full back. After another successful loan spell might well be ready to challenge for a united spot at CB CM or RB

I'm surprised people are saying TFM. Admittedly I only saw extensive highlights (a YT compilation of his performance) but he looked a right mess against City.

Mensah as back up to Valencia for another year and if he's not developing as hoped sign in summer 2019. Valencia is about as solid as a right back can be.
