So it looks increasingly likely that Ronaldo is leaving Madrid and coupled with any already disappointing league season last year you would imagine they'll be going big in what remains of this transfer window but given they've issued public rebukes that they're after either Neymar or Mbappe how will their new look attack look?

Bale is a cert to stay now but neither he or Benzema will replace the goals Ronaldo brings, so might they sign a prolific number 9 and a wide player? Lewandowski and Hazard for example?

No one can replace a player that scores 50+ goals per season.

    Hazard.

His contract is expiring so he will probably cost less than 100 million Euro they're getting for Ronaldo.

They got that Brazilian youngster who will get games next season. Vinisius Junior or something like that. He cost them 40m. They will probably buy Neymar for 220m.

I don't think it will be a superstar, they're just a little too expensive. Especially with sellers knowing they have an extta 100m in the bank.
    Mane maybe?

Neymar / Mbappé + a real striker seem the intentions of Real Madrid that have been spoken about these late days by the closer journalists to the president. It's going to be one of those long, long, long Florentino's summers, and it's been quite a time since the last one, he's wanting to show his power again like a peacock. Fax on fire till August 31 and so.

Neymar's been on the radar for a year if not longer. They won't get 50 goals out of him but he'll score at least 25 and set up a large number. They'll probably also replace Benzema with a younger striker, plus Bale and that will be their attacking 3. Junior will be the young kid in waiting but won't start yet.

I would think if Ron is leaving then Hazard. Especially with him saying they know what they have to do to sign him. Although Ronaldo leaving clears space for the likes of Asensio to play a bigger role. Probably the same effect for Isco and Bale. Maybe they’ll try for Aguero as well.

Hazard, Neymar and Mbappe are the usual suspects. Can't see either of Mbappe/Neymar moving, Hazard's been toying with the idea for a while now, and his contract is running down. They've been stocking up on talented Brazilian youngsters who might be seen as eventual replacements (Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo) although it's nearly impossible for them to replace the 50 goals a season Ronaldo produces.

Salah would've been a good bet had he not just signed a new contract, I wonder if they could be interested in going for Mane? He didn't exactly rule out a transfer in his last interview. The rebuild of Madrid in general over the next few years will be something to keep our eye on, I don't really know where life after Ronaldo takes them for now, they have some immense players but it could still take them a few years to find their feet again. With Messi remaining at Barcelona and Atletico significantly strengthening I can't see them winning the league or CL any time soon.

Keep in mind that Lopetegui is training Real Madrid this season and he has a huge football crush on Isco, that should lower Real's interest in Hazard, at least for this window

He doesn't need replacing that much.

Replace him with a striker who can't get by on the excuse of "sacrificing for Ronaldo" and they will remain at the same level. Challenging for knockout competition, and far behind in the league (which is cool since they don't care about La Liga (unless they win it, in which case it's a honor they celebrate))

 yes any striker will replace the guy who has been dragging them to CL after CL.

Real fans are in for a huge surprise. The underrate goals that he scores so much.

Obviously, the striker they replace Ronaldo with needs to be able to convert chances to balls in the back of the net.

I'm not sure how what I said underrates Ronaldo at all. He's an excellent goal scorer. He's shone at pulling Real out of sticky situations by converting chances, sometimes against the run of play. Replace that with a front line who together as a unit can score goals reliably and they will be fine.

Again, doubt they will be fine because he converts not only chances but half chances and the consistency at which he does it is far more than any other striker. You are not underrating Ronaldo maybe but underrating what he does at Madrid and how it will be near impossible to replace.

They would have to change their tactics considerably.

Won't matter. They need a new shiny toy or the Bernabeu will go up in flames.

Hazard has one year remaining in his contract, if Neymar or Mbappe aren't possible this summer then they'll get him.

Not a lot of options: Neymar, Mbappé, Kane, Salah or Hazard imo. Outsiders chance for Dybala.

I'm very surprised no one has mentioned the obvious answer: Vinicius Junior.

Real Madrid have just signed Odriozola (Achraf Hakimi is going on loan to Dortmund) which means defense and midfield are set (apart from a 4th centre-back if Vallejo is loaned out again and a backup for Casemiro if Llorente has to go but those are minor operations). That leaves goalkeeper where something will be done (Courtois seems most likely because he would be cheapest) and attack. Even if Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid still have the following as attacking options:

    Bale
    Benzema
    Asensio
    Lucas Vazquez
Vincius Junior (who has in his contract that he can't be loaned out to a different team in Europe)

Borja Mayoral is most likely loaned out or sold (with a buyback clause, much like Morata in his day).

That leaves a lot of money (Real hasn't spent any money net on transfers in years) for one, maybe two people in attack. And we mustn't forget Real has already signed Rodrygo who will join next summer. That Brazilian influx makes Neymar the most likely choice although most Real fans would like to see Mbappe. I think it should be a forward who knows the club like Morata or Mariano and then the big bucks signing will be one of the three Neymar, Mbappe or Hazard. But even without them, the 5 above are more than capable of scoring a lot and would miss an out and out forward like Kane more than a winger or a 10.

    1st Option: Neymar

    2nd Option: Hazard + Forward (Lewandowski/Icardi/Werner/Dybala/GabrielJesus)

I think Mbappe, Kane and Salah are going to stay at their clubs.

...The 2nd option is the most realistic.

Agreed. The thing is that Neymar almost feels like it will eventually happen, but this year feels unlikely. So will they go for Hazard + a striker this season and then still go for Neymar next season? That doesn't really seem likely either. Will they be able to get Neymar this year?

They can't replace him like for like because it's impossible, there's only one player who can replicate his impact at Real and he plays for Barcelona.

Next best option for them is to buy two world class attackers (LW and CF) I wish them good luck trying to take on PSG for Mbappe or Neymar. So in the end they'll sign Hazard and make a bid for Kane, whether that gets done or not remains to be seen.

People are still peddling this shite, unbelievable.

They will sign Hazard and be bitterly disappointed when he manages to score 22 goals and get 17 assists in his first season.
