Why didn't it work out at United for Zaha?

Right now he is the flavour of the month in the PL with pundits and fans alike. He was Sir Alex's last signing and in a way looks like something we are missing right about now.

So why didn't it work? Bad timing? Moyes? Too much pressure? Couldn't handle the move up north? Overrated? All of the above?

I would have loved him to do well at United but it didn't work. Looking at him now though you have to think it's a shame as he's a really talented player.

Isn't he pretty much playing as a striker for CP anyway?

He's been inconsistent since he left 3 years ago. He was alright last year and has had a good start this year. Would you play him ahead of Rashford or Martial right now? He'd add a bit of depth to the squad no doubt but I don't think he would turn around our fortunes.

A mix of things. He didnt set the world alight when he played, didnt get that many chances and we had Nani who was a similar but better player as an option. Zaha has come good after refining some of his skills at Palace but it took a bit of time to go from flattering to deceive to being a proper threat. And he simply wasnt chosen as one of the players we play as they improve and try to find the correct level. Some players we did that with, Zaha didnt happen to be one of them.

Yep. Was only last season his productivity increased. So 13/14, 14/15, 15/16... three seasons he didn't do much for - here and at Cardiff and Palace.

And part of the reason he became better was because he had a position change - like Lingard's improved for us due to being moved in a position that suits him more.

He is tremendously talented, just has very little brain to translate that talent into anything of substance. When it works, the results are dazzling. I think we just lost patience with him in the end.

Oh, and once Moyes found out he was fecking his daughter, he told her she should be aspiring to the level of Steven Pienaar.

Exactly. Don't know why is so overrated by our fans considering they underrate most of our players badly.

all talent no brain to use it.

that game just there summed it up. Needs to do his thing 10 times before he gets it right so palace seems just about his level.

Because he was a saf signing and not a Van Gaal player. This is the collateral damage of heavy management changes

He still makes loads of poor decisions. You can see every week why he wouldn’t make it at a top club.

Is he really the flavor of the month!? According to whom exactly?

He is a decent player, but his passing game and decison-making is too average (for a top club that is). Always cocks up obvious chances and it’s down to lack of a football-brain. Just like Aaron Lennon, he’s bound to end up at a tier-two club, just like Lennon did at Spurs and Everton.

    Should be a short thread.

Everyone is raving about him and touting him up for a move this January. Unless you've been stuck in a nuclear bunker I'd of thought you'd have heard it?

He's simply not good enough. Similar to Bebe - no footballing brain - all skills and athleticism. Does great for you at a team not aiming for top 4.

    He was too young.

SAF signing him and then leaving didn't help either.

He has certainly improved at Palace last 18 months with goals and genuine end product rather than millions of step overs and then hitting the first defender.

I do think he needs a free role to prosper in a team as Palace give him. Not sure the rigid nature of a Conte/Mourinho team would suit him. He's been linked to Spurs a lot, think he could do well there under Poch.

Is there any semblance of evidence to this? How did this rumour start?

FWIW, Zaha firmly denies it: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-daughter-s-turned-corner-Crystal-Palace.html

He wouldn't be a bad option for our RW but in all honesty, we could and should be doing so much better.

Sold for £3m by a manager heralded as a great developer of youth who later went on to say we lacked pace in the squad.

Has anyone said Moyes' daughter yet?
In all honesty, David fecking Moyes, didn't even give him a chance. Had SAF stayed he could still be our player. Same with RVP, Moyes dinosaur training fecked him up with all the injuries.

How did his signing happen? Signed in 2012 by SAF then loaned back for a year or something? Struggling to remember if he ever played for SAF.

Signed in January 2013 by SAF, then immediately loaned back to Palace. When he finally joined Moyes was the manager, didn't even play for SAF.

Because he's not good enough. He's always been great at getting into good positions and he's always been rubbish at deciding what to do once he gets there. That's not changed much at Palace.

It also didn't help screwing the boss's daughter.
