No stories please, just the truth
How would anyone know the truth?
We have more pressing positions to sign players in.
Nobody knows so you won't get truth
Presume the commitment to paying 1m a week or something to a 37 and 38 year old as juve could well sign up to didnt appeal to us. Learned a lesson with Rooney giving a player just beyond his peak a long and lucrative contract. Madrid are the smart players here rebuilding before it's too late.
Because you touch yourself at night.
From Ronaldo's point of view it, it would be pointless for him to come here and really not a smart career decision at this point in his career. Plus our team needs and the way it's built would mean that getting Ronaldo fecks everything up and probably wouldn't work that well in the end. Plus the fact that he didn't get along well with Mourinho.
Just off the phone with Woodward, he said that Sanchez wouldn't give up the number 7. Honestly, that's the truth.
Maybe we didn't feel like paying so much for a 33 year old who won't fix our biggest attacking problem which is RW.
We'll know literally the minute Jose holds his first press conference of pre season because that'll be the first question he'll be asked
It would be madness to pay that amount to bring him to the most physically demanding league in the world. He is already showing some signs of decline and with all the training and recovery in the world only has a handful of years left at the top level.
I hate the question of this thread.
We don't know whether we weren't in for him.
Even if we weren't in for him, Ronaldo may have fancied a new challenge. He has his career goals, and maybe he saw no benefit from coming back to the PL. He's already a great here. Go dominate another league.
"Why aren't we in for him?" is such a spoilt mentality as if to say, the only reason he hadn't joined us was because we weren't in for him.
He fancied a new challenge. Move on.
Very glad we weren’t in for him. Moving to Serie A a sure sign Ronaldo knows he’s in decline. He’d never move back to the PL in a million years - he’d have risked his legacy and is far too proud to contemplate that. Italian football is his best bet to wring more trophies out of the next two years. Good move for him and we’ve done well to not plough money into a declining force.
I know he’s still in great physical shape, but his best years are behind him and I don’t think anyone could dispute that.
It would be crazy to get him for a similar amount to what United got for him when he’s spent his best years at Madrid.
If we had Ronaldo on the left and Sanchez on the right we'd be better off than with any other combination we can get this summer though.
this thread need more love from @Cal?
I'm happy the club didn't pursue this deal. I don't know if Ronaldo was interested or not l, but by the absolute lack of rumors linking us to Ronaldo, it looks like the club stayed far away.
We have been often criticised for buying players because of their commercial value. This was a golden opportunity to expand our fan base and sell some merchandise, to get bigger sponsorships.
But instead the club acted in a mature way and stayed away from a player we have no need for.
The two positions we are more than OK at are LW & CF and that's Rinaldo plays. Also 100 million plus would mean all our transfer budget gone and we would start the next year with 4 LWs and no proper RW or LB.
Some people will be angry with the club for not trying to buy him back, me personally am happy that we have shown this maturity to stay away from this expensive deal and focus on fixing the problems in our squad.
Because Ronaldo doesn’t really care about us, and has no interest in coming back.
Another left forward is exactly what we need
The PL is too challenging for him at 33
I mean if we bought Ronaldo that'd mean we have three of our star players on massive wages on the plus side of 30+ starting in our midfield. It'd make bad sense for the future of this club.
The truth? The truth!?
We have to trust the club. If they don't know what we need, they're in the wrong job.
As much as a Juventus move for Ronaldo is a win-win situation, a move to Man Utd would probably be a lose-lose one. Adds nothing to his legacy and a 33 year-old superstar isn't what United needs in my opinion.
Would be nice if Mourinho actually sees Sanchez as a RW.
You won't get the truth, we all have an internet connection just like you.
Lack of interest in coming back.
His relationship with Mourinho wasn't the best towards the end.
YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!
I don't think we were in for him and I doubt he ever wanted to come back. He did enjoy using our name to get better deals though!
Ronnie wouldn’t of come here with Mourinho as manager.
I don’t think money for us is a problem.
Gald we did not buy him, the amount of money is insane. It would be awkward for us. We sold him for 80 and then buy him back after he spend his best years at Madrid for -40 Mio. And the wages are crazy, too. Invest in the future. Buy Mbappe or Dybala, if available.
He never wanted to come back, he broke up with you lot long time ago, it's time to face it for some of you and finally move on.
We have Lukaku, plus I think he wouldn't have coped with the physical part of the EPL. It would've been a bit too romantic and it would've ruined the original story. He's good where he is right now imo.
Bubz with the questions again.
'No stories please just the truth'.
Kazi who the feck do you think posts here FFS? Half of this forum don't leave the fecking basement until United sign a player at which point they treck down to the local Lidl and get a celebratory Tolberone.
Who am I to disappoint you?
The truth is out there. The truth is often what we make of it. The truth is, I am Iron Man.
Impossible to know. Most likely reason to me would be Ronaldo told us he wasn't interested.
