Do you reckon the game is going ahead given Muamba? This sounds morbid, but if he had died I would fully understand the Premier League cancelling it. When he was 'stable', I thought it will go ahead, but now he is 'critically ill' I am not sure.

He played 33 times for the under-21s, so the likes of Jones, Smalling and Welbeck must know him well. Will they be in the frame of mind to play? Will the PL think it is better to cancel this as a mark of respect? (I don't think so if he is still hanging in there).

Selfishly, I want it to go ahead, but fully understand those who may not. Horrible day for football.

So what are the chances that either Valencia or nani make this? Would feel a lot more confident with either of them on the right wing, instead of playing a make shift winger there.

Remember reading Nani's out for sure. I guess Valencia could make the bench since he travelled to Spain.

Yeah Valencia looked alright during the warmup in the Bilbao game, I think he might feature today.

    SkySports predicts he's starting.

I bet the Muamba incident will play a huge part on the players today, for better or worse.

How did he get injured in the first place? Oh yeah he fell over! Why the feck are these little knocks and falls so damaging? Every injury seems to be 4 weeks minimum. I wish they'd stop hobbling each other in training too.

FM says if you train them too hard you will get plenty of injuries. But I'm guessing opposition player and turfs are bigger factors.

Sometimes I think they are kicking bricks instead of balls on training.

Wouldn't that mean that other top teams like City should have the same amount of injuries? I mean they play the same opponents we are playing.

I'm no expert about injury prevention but I really feel we could do a lot better in that department. I mean after all it can't get much worse.

Having to constantly rush people back from injury and chop the squad up and give certain players times I reckon would have an effect.

A '70% Rooney is better than no Rooney' mentality. I'd imagine some of the wingers and players who rely on speed need a rhythm of games before being in full stride and the body acclimatising to playing regularly.

Everything looked so solid in pre-season. We clicked and peaked quite early in the season.

Wasn't really a fall, he released the ball very late and was caught while going at full speed. Personally i felt he should have warmed up more tbh, but who knows if that would have made any difference?

Which means we have to take a long and hard look at our training regime. Our players might be going in to hard during sessions, but that is what you expect, you can't improve unless you train at your best.

It seems like we have more injuries than ever now.

Nani & Rooney both out now?

I'd love to see us give them a right hammering, would do us the world of good...don't think that will happen though.

On Rooney's Twitter this morning he signed off at about nine o'clock saying he was getting ready for the game and he'd speak after. So I'd say he's definitely in the matchday squad. Haven't heard either way about Nani.

They seem to do their ankles alot, can't they strengthen weak areas?

I blame modern day football boots, they are thinner than paper, no support to the ligaments at all. But then again, exercising with weak support should strenghten the ligament. That is why they recommend people with weak ankles to jog barefooted. Paradox!

I just don't see why some teams like City/Barca don't get injuries. They don't charge about as much as we do cus they are better at keeping the ball than us. That's the only thing I can think of.
To be fair that probably is the reason.

Going by the mess Wolves are in this weather this should really be a straight forward enough game for us at Old Trafford. Great to see Valencia back.

By the same token, shouldn't teams like Bolton and Stoke get more injuries then? I think we're splitting hairs now, It might as well be down to bad luck and individual genetics.

Welbeck out wide again. Hope this doesn't mean another narrow performance as that'll suit Wolves.
