We should be aiming to finish 1st or at least 2nd if not. 3rd and 4th is acceptable though now there's no play off round for the CL

Nar, 3rd is barely acceptable this season imo. 4th would be a shit year with barely any progress.

Considering we finished 6th last season, I think top 4 is respectable. I agree though, we should be aiming for top two the way we've started the season so strongly.

At this point, I'm baffled at anyone who would accept any lower than 2nd. We're the 2nd best team in the league, and that's where we should finish at the very least.

Exactly. We are keeping pace with half our defence missing and Pogba out for much of the last few weeks. With all our players fit and available we should pull away from those below us.

Before the season began, I might have accepted a 3rd place finish, as that would have been a big improvement from the past few seasons, and cementing a CL berth would certainly have been a positive progression.

But the season has been great for United so far, and given the Arsenal result we are in a good position to finish in the top 2 places.

Depending on the result of this weekend's derby, if we lose, then I cannot see that there is any realistic chance of catching City, even at this stage of the season, we'd be 11 points adrift, but if we win, the gap is reduced to 5 points, and then anything is possible.

Where do I sign. We’re crap and I can’t see us making top 4, draws against Leicester, Burnley and Southampton isn’t a good sign.

We'll be lucky to get top 4 the way things are going.

We are finishing 5th this year so of course I'd take it.

Most definitely. We were just lucky in the beginning of the season. Lukaku wasn't trained by us yet so was running of his previous training. But surely we trained all that was good out of him.
Now the whole team is playing their level which unfortunately is 5th-6th. We don't deserve to finish higher than that.

    I'd accept 4th here and now. And I personally predicted 4th pre-season.

Chelsea are a better side. You can debate about the rest (excluding City obviously). Can't see us finishing higher than 3rd this year with what we've been doing.

At this point Liverpool and Spurs when Kane is firing look a lot better than us. Unless things change we will be scraping for 5th.

I agree, we'd easily get 2nd if we weren't shit.

I would be surprised if we make 5th, & can see us & Arsenal not making top four. No Europa League title, will mean no Champions League next year.

2nd is still the expectation. If we cant manage that we need to improve the management

That squad is good enough to finish 2nd, we shouldn’t be accepting lower. Something is deeply wrong if we fall lower than 3rd.

Probably. I still think we will finish 2nd or 3rd, but I no longer realistically believe we can win the League. So I don't really care if we finish 2nd or 3rd (or even 4th for that matter).

    Watch the tide turn now.

It was obvious from the start of the season that 2nd or 3rd was the best we could hope for. Myself and a few others got shit for saying we would take 3rd. Its very debatable if we're better than Spurs or Liverpool.

£300m might not be enough to win the title against the sheiks but it HAS to categorically and absolutely ensure 2nd or 3rd at worst, there are no more excuses!!

No, i want to see the players and the coach go through their paces. It's important to monitor the psychological condition of player under such circumstances, not to mention that Jose's third season depends on the performances till the end.
