They could use a good rebellion there and get rid of Mugabe, the monumental twat.

Sad thing is the next guy would probably be a tyrant as well.

This is on the BBC website.

The Zanu PF Twitter account claims that Emmerson Mnangagwa has been made interim president.

The 75-year-old was sacked from his post as vice-president for what the government called "traits of disloyalty".

At the time, his removal was seen as making it more likely that President Mugabe's wife, Grace, would follow in her husband's footsteps as leader of Zimbabwe.

She had earlier called on her husband to remove his vice-president.

Wow she must be more unpopular than Hillary Clinton if the threat of her taking over has prompted this after decades of incompetence.

She's abhorred by the military. The idea that she'd be their commander in chief in a few years was only going to end with her either being forced out after she took power or before. It's more peaceful this way to be fair. At the end of the day Mugabe brought this on himself.

Aye, we can add our president Zuma in there. That wouldn't be too shabby.

Yeah, get the impression there's not going to be much changed in Zimbabwe except merely in who's running the country. Remember reading a while back that this would inevitably come to a head.

He clearly didn't toe the western line so he must be a twat.

Well at least, at last, seems like the game is up for Mugabe.

Unfortunately, I am very pessimistic about Zimbabwe's short to mid term future. That 'Crocodile' guy could possibly be worse than Mugabe.

    The press conference is on.

He didn't write this speech himself.

So after that long and rambling speech he’s still not resigned as president.

    Yeah.

Some pressure from regional neighbors, the AU and the UN, to open up the government to fair and free elections, would be nice.

South Africa has the clout to influence changes but I doubt the ANC led gov't will do anything against their long-standing fellow freedom fighters in ZANU-PF; they are just as corrupt in all honest.
