Got to say I fancy us to score in this game at least, if they're going to play Luiz at CB.

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Cleverley Anderson
Valencia Rooney Welbeck
Van Persie

Is how I'd line up. Picking Welbeck over Hernandez because I think he's more suited to playing that role, although it was a tough decision.

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Welbeck
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Cleverley

CF: Rooney
CF: RVP

Subs: Lindegaard, Wootton, Anderson, Valencia, Nani, Young, Hernandez

Basically the XI that started against Stoke but with Cleverley in for Valencia with him switching sides with Welbeck as the game progresses

Our record at Stamford Bridge leaves something to be desired. Mata and Hazard worry me. I can see Hazard becoming one of those players who fecks us up regularly.

Valencia has to start in place of Welbeck. I agree with the rest of the team though.

Valencia will and should start against Chelsea.

I have a feeling Anderson too might play a part.

Not quite the diamond on paper anyway, but gives us Valencia up against Cole and should allow Rooney and Cleverley to give us some energy. Anderson and Nani haven't been playing, and Young will need to wait for the league cup since he didn't play against Braga. Harsh to drop Chicharito but his fresh legs after the hour mark could be useful.

Why though? Valencia hasn't exactly been great this season has he
Welbeck hasn't been great, and Valencia is a natural winger who has caused Chelsea trouble in the past?

Well the only thing I can say with certainty is that we'll concede first.

But Chelsea don't cross the ball in much so maybe we'll have a better time defending than we have off late.

Same starters as against Stoke, except Cleverley for Scholes. Prefer Scholes as a sub rather than a starter. Same with Chicharito.

Concerned about Nani's lack of match time, and his lack of contribution when he gets on the field.

Is Terry still suspended?

Terry will miss this and the league cup against us.

I would like to see one of Ando/Cleverley starting in midfield with Carrick, and Welbeck not starting in the left. Also, in this game it wouldn't be a bad idea turning into classic 4-4-2 with Nani and Valencia in the wings because we always crushed Chelsea from the wings.

Anyway I don't have that high hopes for this game, purely because our abysmal record in SB.

I would go for
De gea
Rafael rio Evans evra
Valencia Carrick Anderson nani
Rooney rvp
But I expect to see welbeck start in place of nani, and scholes on for Anderson.
Anyways, hope we pull off a good result, will probably be a high scoring game whatever the case. Hopefully our defence gets their head out of their asses as well.

2-3 united, they take the lead 1-0 and 2-1 but we win the game in the end. Rvp 2 and Rooney 1 after hazard and Torres score for them.

Hard to say on the front 3. I definitely think one of nani and valencia should play given both have starred against chelsea in recent seasons and chelsea's weakness is in the wide areas for me. On the other side I would have said either Welbeck or Kagawa but Hernandez deserves tbh in contention after today. Reckon Welbeck should start with Hernandez a great sub to have.

Really would like to see us try more of a 433. Think we could get the fluidity and control the diamond gives us but a much better balanced attack with excellent passers and threat from wide areas.

I don't really want us to start Welbeck to be honest. Nemanja15 has the team pretty much spot on for me but I fancy us to see Scholes or Giggs start, just because, well...

I want Hernandez to start. He'd tear Luiz and Cahill to shreds.

Anyone know why he was subbed against Braga? It seemed strange considering he was on a hat-trick and is fresher than RVP and Rooney.

As long as we don't play Scholes and Carrick in midfield, we will be fine. We need someone to keep up with Ramires and Hazard. Anderson if fit would be a good choice for this game. Him, Cleverley and Carrick.
