The old "source" again.

Still, shameful if the club were in fact unwilling to offer the alleged £120k, seeing as that's what Young is supposed to be on.

He is one hell of a player. Get the deal done. We'd be fecked without him if you ask me.

YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
If we are to sell Nani and replace him with Moura, maybe it does fit with selling Nani on 120,000 K and signing Lucas on 50K and hoping that the transfer fees even themselves out.

If it happens, I'll be very very pissed.

If we don't resign Nani it'll be one the daftest things we done in recent times, especially if he wants to stay. He's a top footballer and arguably our best player. Sign him up long term!

And when Moura is 25 and a world beater he is going to want to earn 50K?

What on Earth is going on? He's one of our best players. Give him the £120k he wants as he deserves it. He's a game winner and one of the best wingers in the world.

The story is most likely made up but still, this was not the news I wanted to hear when I saw this thread bumped.
There's no way we're stalling him for 120k. If the deal's not moving ahead, the wages demanded must be much higher. With Rooney reportedly on close to 180k, i doubt Nani only wants 120k for himself tbh.

We must get him to sign though, no 2 ways about it.

We are playing a dangerous game, or is Nani making it difficult? It doesnt matter either way.

We will be in a similar situation to Arse and RVP this time next year if he does not sign this summer.

I should hope it will be resolved either way. Be it sold or signed before the end of the window.

Losing him due to wages would make us look really weak in the transfer market. We're the biggest club in the world and can't afford to keep Nani here? I doubt his demands would be astronomical either. He's worth whatever he's asking so just sign him up bloody hell.

Nani unhappy with #mufc? Not true. The negotiations with the club continue and he wants to stay. Fact.

Is he considered reputable?

Being from the same country as the player doesn't necessarily mean it's accurate.

He's reasonably well connected. Just one example from the last couple of days, when every other English Media was convinced that Rondon is a target for Spurs. He tweeted that Rondon to Spurs is a no-goes and he'll sign for a Russian Club. Rondon signed for Anzhi yesterday.

Sounds more accurate than all the other shite posted then.

I'd be far happier getting Nani tied down for another 4-5 years than spunking out massive money on Lucas or RVP.

agreed.

though if nani goes into the gaffers office and asks to be the highest paid winger/wide player on the planet (not including ronnie), what do you think the gaffer/gill will do?

As high as Ribery at Bayern? i dont think we'l pay him that much if it came to that. Nani knows our structure though, he wont demand such sums anyways.

S'all good. Fergie will buy another homeless lad off Mendes, who will then accept the contract we offer Nani.

four years younger than ribery, more proven in a bigger/better league, Nani (and if i were his agent) would definitely be asking for atleast what ribery gets if not slightly more.

forget about structure, wayne broke it.

IIRC, Read it on the caf itself that Ribery is on very high wages at Bayern. Higher than what we pay anyone here. There's no way we'l match that for Nani. Rooney's case was different, he'd have gone for peanuts and is our most important player. The same wouldnt be done for Nani imo.

I agree it wouldn't, but I'm saying Nani is worth ribery money and is well onside to ask for it.

Rooney gets more than ribery.

Well, put it this way, we wouldnt pay Ribery what he gets at Bayern either. A player's worth is very subjective.

Regarding Rooney v Ribery's wages, i dont really know where to look. I'l take you word on it. Reasonably sure i read somewhere that Ribery earns a very high figure at Bayern though, higher than anything we pay here.

Apparently, he earns less than 10,000 per week in his current club and will settle for tripling to quadrupling his wages.

But all this is speculation though, he is not my best mate. You'll have to take all this with a pinch of salt.

Most likely he'll not want to earn much less than whatever PSG are offering which is bound to be a lot.

so, do you lads think he'll get a new deal done before sept or will we let this run into january/next summer?
They've been negotiating for months now. He's still got a while left to run on his current contract but if an agreement can't be reached in the next month I can't see what would change in the run up to January and next summer. I don't really want to think about that though, just hope a new contract is signed - and soon. It has to be sorted soon, the longer it drags the worse it will be.

I'm just looking forward to the day it's officially announced that he's signed a new 5 year deal. Then we can look forward to his best years at the club without people thinking we're going to lose him. Simply put, he's one of our best players and if he left it would be a massive blow to us.

Played some sexy stuff tonight, our main attacking threat all night.

The part when he juggled the ball through 3 barca players is

Our best attacking player without a doubt. Rooney does scores a lot of goals, but he is nowhere near individually good as Nani.

As for tonights game, he is regulary our best player against Barcelona, it was madness droping him in CL final, but that's another story.

Technically, he's just on a different level to any other attacking player we have. Its just so clear for all to see.

He's our best player, and we should give him what he wants, would be a disaster if he left imho.

And 90% of the time he had defender stuck up in his arse, and still he never looked in danger of losing the ball or something like that.
On the other hand, Rooney looked like he literally played with defender in his arse.
