Congrats on having the balls to take over the toughest job in football and thanks for trying but please do feck off. Not good enough for our club. Should be managing the likes of Stoke.
Its not the toughest job in football. Real Madrid's manager is the toughest job in football. Managers are in constant scrutiny and if the manager fails to deliver he certainly wont get standing ovations.

  • He's identified key areas of the pitch where we need to improve (he did this very early on with bids for midfielders and left-backs)
  • He's shown no romanticism in addressing these problems (benched Ferdinand despite the leaks/how popular he is among the players. He also was willing to flog Evra and get his own left-back in. Evra, again, a popular man among the players and not forgetting Anderson, a likeable lad but obviously here a year or two past his welcome. Ferguson commanded the late '80s United dressing-room by bombing out the bad influences/non-performers despite their popularity and never looked back)
  • He has total belief in doing things his way, e.g. the entire back-room staff is his own. De Gea has improved markedly as an all-round 'keeper under Woods, for example. That mental strength will stand him (and us) in good stead
  • He won't stand for unprofessionalism. Moyes reportedly fined players for being seen partying in town immediately after our loss to Bayern (People will claim he overreacted - could you imagine if it was Moyes who was pictured drunk and partying in town hours after the game...)
  • He is tactically adaptable. He's shown an awareness of various formations and utilises them quite well (I can't think of too many occasions where our tactics/formation were wrong as opposed to us simply not performing. City fans are horrified at Pellegrini's one-dimensionally by comparison)
  • His trust in youth. Januzaj has been used very sensibly and to good effect. Wilson has been name-checked by Moyes as possibly appearing before the end of the season and Moyes has also attended games to watch our loan players. This, no doubt, is a great confidence boost for them
  • Moyes personally scouts his transfer targets. Others may disagree but I like this about him.
  • He's a tremendously hard-working. It's well-known how much of a obsessive he is and how serious he takes his job. Ferguson firmly believed in being the first man in in the morning and last man to leave. Moyes' work ethic and approach is cut from the same cloth. Having that 'omnipresent' reputation will help him forge that 'ruler' tag Ferguson used to his advantage so well
  • He learns as he goes along. Many expected Moyes to struggle in Europe but that's where we've had our best performances. The league, a domain where Moyes has excelled for ten years already, should be our bread and butter so I (many will say naively) think this season will be an anomaly.
  • Our away form has been very impressive. Everton's away form was always the weaker aspect of their season which flies in the face of everyone who has said Moyes has 'Evertonised' United. Moyes' Everton were very strong at home - as have United been - so it's a surprise we've been so lethargic at home. Again, I see this anomalous and we'll address this next season
  • Our defence, despite it being decimated with injuries and having to rely on players well past their peak, has looked pretty decent all things considering. We've kept quite a few clean sheets away from home lately and that organisation should be the bedrock of future successes
  • Our front play has looked fluid in recent weeks. Kagawa, Mata, Januzaj, Rooney etc. are exciting talents and there's huge potential in that front four. I believe Moyes will ultimately see the promise in this quartet and form a system around them (he's shown signs of this already)
Again, not an exhaustive list nor one I've out too much time and effort into compiling, but those are just a few aspects of Moyes' reign which have impressed me/I see some potential in.
A lot of Moyes hate right now but surely the fact that we have a hard working manager is surely enough to satisfy people? Or perhaps the fact that he lost the dressing room around Christmas (IMO) is probably a big downfall for him right now.

Smalling at RB and Jones at CB was stupid.

Welbeck or Valencia should have started.

Something I've noticed again in this match and I only mention it in case others have noticed it I'm not 100% sure what it means if anything. It's moyes' tactics regarding substitutions.

So many games this season, particularly when we are losing and often when we have started with a 4231. At 60-65 mins he makes a sub, usually an attacking choice, I.e hernandez or welbeck on for a midfielder and we reshape to something more akin to 442 with two out and out strikers. Fair enough, we need a goal we get someone on to do that. But always, 10 mins later at 75 mins when we havent scored we bring on someone else attacking (I.e januzaj or welbeck etc) and we reshape again to a 4231 (usually rooney having to drop deeper or out wide).

It just seems strange to change shape just for ten mins or so to only change it back 10 mins later. Whats the reasoning behind this? Is it that the player being brought on is more important than the shape? Is it indecision?

I would argue its indecision if only happened once or twice but this exact thing has happened at least 10-15 times this season that I've noticed.

Anyone else notice this?

This is surely the end for Moyes. I bloody hope I don't wake upto, 'Moyes linked with x and y'

He shouldn't be in charge for our next game let alone the summer.
I do. Hopefully it'll be Exeter and Yeovil.

Real Madrid fans would have ripped him a new one. United fans have been very patient with Dave. However if they still stick to him then it will be bordering to the ridiculous

Time for a rant...

Moyes has blamed the players and squad depth but it starts with his tactics. They've been dreadful all season, our record against the top-6 is an embarrassment. Crystal Palace have more wins against the top-6 teams than we do!!

Our self-belief and confidence has been completely killed. Before we could be 0-2 down and still believe we van get a result, now we go 1 goal down and I expect defeat. The players were champions 1 season ago, to go from that to 7th can't entirely be their fault. It must come down to the training, tactics, confidence and mentality. We look scared and confused as to what to do in the final-third, and there is no creativity. When you have Mata, Kagawa, Nani, Januzaj, Rooney & RVP in the squad, there can be no excuses for the lack of creativity. Plus, this season we look far more defensively inept than I can remember. Moyes is meant to be a defensive genius, what's happened to that??

From the rumours, only Rooney looks happy playing for Moyes. Players who otherwise enjoy their football, or rarely speak out, look disgruntled. It's fine accepting some players are not good enough and should be sold, but other than DDG, has anyone else consistently demonstrated they deserve to be here long-term? The players levels may have dropped off, but it's up to the manager to get them to play better. Moyes seems happier blaming the lack of quality than taking responsibility and bringing the best out of players. Great managers can get an extra 20% performance from average players, they can make the good look great. Moyes has made the good players look distinctly average this season.

Then there is Moyes' own mentality. He's not cut out to be United manager. Saying things like "we'll try to win" or claiming City & Liverpool are favourites when we play at OT is unacceptable. Making comments like "we aspire to be at City's level" are pathetic. He is not brave enough to manage the expectations at this club, for him making it difficult for the opponents is an achievement. He has shown this season his mentality and tactical awareness is just not good enough.

Moyes has had long enough to prove himself and show progression. He's not shown anything which warrants him getting more time. He looks as clueless today as he did when he started the job. The fans have been patient enough but this righteousness that 'we're Man Utd we don't sack managers' needs to end. He's doing more and more harm to this club each passing week and, at the end of the day, we need to do what's best for the club and not fecking David Moyes. He's a good man, but if it needs OT to boo him to get the owners attention then so be it.

This result surely should be the final nail in the coffin. But, despite my hope, I can see him being given more time when he clearly doesn't deserve it.

Well done David, the amazing Everton side you left beat the terrible side Sir Alex left you.

Well, this was a familiar view for Moyes. Man United visits Godison Park, and Moyes loses. Like usual.

Absolutely no surprise to see another loss. Absolutely criminal that he's still in charge.

Patient? We've been ridiculous. How the feck can you continue supporting a manager who's taken us to this kind of mediocrity? We should make him quit. It's all in our hands. Teams like Real Madrid sack their manager just because they don't go far enough in the champions league and here we are, 7th and giving Moyes a standing ovation for going 7th and breaking all negative records that there is to break. feck me.

Obviously losing home and away to City, Liverpool and Everton is Fergie's fault. That shit squad of champions he left.

I get the feeling today could be the day, lads. This could turn out to be a good evening.
Nah. He's here for another season. He's the luckiest manager in the world.

I reckon even Championship clubs would've sacked him with a similar form since the New Year.

I fecking hate this clown, I hate him. I hate that he's such a mindless idiot that his clear motivation today was "ooooo people love Roberto Martinez and all his pretty football... well watch me play better football! We'll make loads of passes!! MWAHAHAHAHA!"... and so we proceed to pass the ball aimlessly round a football field for 90 minutes, whilst Everton destroy us with a direct/fast/counter-attacking approach, and David Moyes wanked furiously from the touchline.

Our whole game today was based around Moyes trying to "one-up" his successor... how fecking petty is that?! Not to say stupid/idiotic/daft etc... and even when it was painfully obvious that Everton's approach was killing us, did we change it? Did we feck... because Moyes is incapable of changing a game that is in progress... because he has no clue what he's doing.

The only way he will be sacked is if our fans go all out against him and hound him out. Unless that happens, he will get another season. From champions to 7th in a single season, imagine what he would do in 2.

Any sensible club would have gotten rid of him weeks ago. Even the most moronic club would get rid of him after today. I don't know what that makes us.

Get out of our club, you big, clueless idiot.
