He won't get sacked cuz uncle Fergie is on the board!!
Even uncle Fergie has his limits.

Calling his championship winning team not good enough and saying even he would have struggled with this side will not sit well with Fergie at all. I'm sure he's had enough of Moyes.

Well done David, the amazing Everton side you left beat the terrible side Sir Alex left you.
It was so refreshing to read Martinez's comments in the build-up. Amazing that he thinks the players are solely responsible Everton's great season and our terrible one.

wasn't a surprise, but don't abuse me, it didn't overly matter today in terms of league position and it showed!

Looks like we won't be making the Europa anyway, 6 points off Tottenham, so we'll need to win 4 and hope they don't do more than win 2 of 3.

he has single handily made the belief that this is some kind of ultra weak squad common thinking.

I wanted this to work out but it sadly hasn't. We need to move, no point in wasting money and waste another year with him.

The only possible way for this season to end on a high is for him to get sacked, the players don't believe in him, this won't change next season even with new signings, it'll only makes the transition longer and more painful.

If we have the same decline next season as this year where last year we had 84 points at this stage compared to our 57 we have now, we'd be a point off the foot of the table in 19th position with 30 points to our name. That's the scale of utter balls-up this man has made of this club.

We looked pathetic today, as soon as Everton scored I didn't see us coming back and at 2 nil the management and the team looked beaten. Everything that was good about this team has gone, martinez has retained the good qualities at Everton and added to it, moyes has done the opposite. Martinez showed how to counter our good away record, just play like an away team and make us play like we are at home, the result is another spineless and clueless performance. It's incredible to believe moyes will not lose his job but I am convinced that at some point the board have decided they will keep him on no matter how poorly this season went. Why that is the case is probably I either the influence of SAF, fear of another transition or simply not knowing where or who to turn to next.

Nah. He's here for another season. He's the luckiest manager in the world.

I reckon even Championship clubs would've sacked him with a similar form since the New Year.
No chance. He's the safest manager in the country right now, maybe apart from Rodgers and that guy who just got Brentford promotion.
Nah, today's different. You saw it in his demeanour. He bolted straight down the tunnel at the final whistle. Woodward didn't look happy, like a man who is both angry at what he's seeing and gloomy because he has to deliver bad news.

Today was the day it became mathematically impossible for us to make the Champion's League. There is literally nothing else worthwhile left to play for. I'm not one for putting much stock in gut feelings or faith, but it just feels right.

I think there's genuinely a very good chance that over the next few days, Moyes will be gone.

The host on MUTV said we shouldn't be surprised by this result. I can't tell if he's defending Moyes or taking the piss

Surely there isn't a manager at a professional football club on the planet who could have done worse.

They have to make a 100% choice now. sack or back.

no point sitting through 4 more games and then sacking

If I dig up my posting history you'll find I wanted Martinez to be Sir Alex' apprentice.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Playing our best centre back, who is exceptional in the air and at dealing with big strikers, at right back really was absurd, particularly considering Jones is always susceptible against big strikers. I guess you could argue Moyes didn't know they were going to play that direct, but why didn't he change it in game earlier? And then he did change it by taking Evans off who was infinitely better than Jones. Crazy.

7th in the league, 10 defeats in 22 this year and outplayed by every decent team we've faced.

Surely, surely he has to go now?

I can't remember why I joined this war.
If he had a shred of decency left in him he would just retire from football right after the game and stop torturing people with his awful football.

No seriously just stop Moyes. Give up. Let it go. It's not the right profession for you. Caretaker sure is something you would be good at I bet. Just stop ruining football.

Can't the players just express to the board his incompetence of something? They're clearly not playing for him, I just wish we could do a Chelsea in this situation.

He needs to spend the rest of his life in iso cubes without parole.

Somebody high in the club's hierarchy sooner or later will judge his drokking ass.

As much as I wanted to give him the season, sacking him now would give us time to try and have a replacement secured by the end of the season, so we don't get anyone even attempting to use the excuse that he didn't have enough time to make transfers.

We aren't even going to make 70 points this season. We'll be lucky to get 65 at this rate.

I agree with this. We can't make the top four, fecking make De Gea player manager until the end of the season if we have to.

The optimist in me is praying the board were just waiting until it was mathematically confirmed we couldn't get top 4 until utilising some clause in contract.

Please.

The sad thing is Fergie would've won the league by now.

Moyes is abject, but the players aren't covering themselves in glory.

Carragher speaking sense. That's as close as you'll get someone on Sky saying that a manager should go.

I said in one of the pre match threads that Everton were not going to play wide with crosses.

I think everyone us knew there is no way Everton were going to play to type against their old manager.

Even Carragher tearing into us and he's spot on.
He's exactly right here. No plan, no will to win. The fact that he'd happily have played against this United team is telling.

Yep, Carragher is spot on and unlike others (Neville) isn't afraid to tell it like it really is.

Didn't think I was going to say this, but thank you Carragher. He's saying the manager needs to take responsibility, the first time today they've really addressed the elephant in the room.

he seems to become less of a twat the further time goes on! It's not right.

If our lot showed the passion he's showing talking about us, we'd be in a much better state!
