I think Tancredi's record is actually worse than a broken watch to be honest. I'm happy that attention seeking feck-wit is on the black-list.

But we're making it less fun by completely restricting what can be posted, Yay.

Nb I think people should just use their common sense rather than a banned users list.
Exactly.

Which is why I posted what I did. If the transfer forum is just about muppetry/fantasy/fun then nobody's tweets should be banned. We should allow Indykaila and everybody else's tweets.

You can't tell people to not take this thread seriously while at the same time banning tweets. One of the things that made the Thiago saga fun is that everyone's tweets were allowed.

Tancredi is full of crap most of the time, but he is actually on TV talking about football. How are you going to ban his tweets? Might as well just close the twitter thread at that point.

Either allow all tweets for the muppetry or just wait for official news.

Tancredi is a lot better than he gets credit for. He knows his Italian stuff at the very least, and typically references his sources if he is just passing on something he read.

I've seen countless deals he's called correctly in the past, just that caftards haven't seemed to notice because it wasn't Sanchez to United. Nobody is going to care where they first heard Milan were interested in Essien from, but there is a good chance it was Tancredi.

I agree with the crackdown because it's not entertaining. It's annoying. The reason more and more sprout up is because people give them attention. A true muppet cares and wants to believe what they read is true. They don't want to be put in a skirt and fecked up the arse by every twat wanting to be in the know. Twitters a shit website anyway
That's fair enough. I understand the mods don't want the Cafe to be buried in b******t from every no-mark with a typing finger on Twitter. Too much of a bad thing is just bad.

As long as we don't get too precious about things, and understand that an attempt to excise b******t from the Transfer Forum is to kill it.

Against the ban too.

What's the point of the Twitter thread if only a select few can be posted?

I agree putting a list saying take those "twatters" with a grain of salt but don't ban them. It's part of the fun

I can see the number of twits posted to be vastly lowered due most of the posted twits previously are on the ban list.

I also think that, even the worst critics, if they were being honest with themselves cannot really believe a Tancredi or Ballague literally sit down and say to themselves 'I'm going to completely make up that United are after Cavani'. These are real journalists, paid decent money to do so with real connections.

I've always felt this hatred of journalists on accounts of inaccuracies is not much more than emotionally lashing out for something someone really wanted to happen not coming off. Like, deep down we understand that not every lead a journo gets comes off and things change, but we prefer to just call Ballague names because we really wanted his declaration that Torres was coming to United to be true, and it didn't happen.

This thread should be 95% tweets(no matter how ridiculous).

This thread has become 1 tweet and sometimes no tweets per page.

So you're seriously fine with stuff like the following being posted?

Ben Fairthorne doesn't exist. Well, maybe he does but he certainly isn't a journo who has worked with x, y and z company and has a zillion sources. He's indykaila with a dicky bow.

When I, and a lot of others, view the twitter thread, we want to see actual news, not utter crap spouted by ITK69 about something plucked from their arsecrack and retweeted and favourited into oblivion just because it links Suarez with a move to Caledonian Thistle or some other nonsense.

It's the build up to the "official news" which we all want to be involve in like - media leaks/players quotes/ reliable tweets.

For posters like me who uses this site as a source for football related news, reading bogus tweets can be quite misleading and annoying.

I suggest we keep it nice and tidy. Maybe we should make another thread for bogus tweets and for those who think it's fun to read and post indykaila.

Personally i don't mind BS tweets, i'm a rugby follower and i know that nothing is done until a player plays his first match.

The whole transfer forum is so convoluted. You can't discuss tweets in the Twitter thread, so we have a separate Twitter discussion thread. You can't post tweets in individual player threads, so they're forced into the Twitter or Twitter discussion thread. What exactly are we meant to do? Quote posts from the Twitter thread (without the tweet) to player-specific threads and then continue discussing in their thread? The way it is, we just end up discussing 50 different players in one thread, which is why it gets so muddy and disjointed. We should just allow posting of Tweets in player-specific threads and be done with the Twitter threads all together. You just force all the traffic from the whole forum to one place, and of course during the transfer window it's going to blow up and be tedious.

The most annoying thing I find is people posting tweets from indykaila etc. and then making a "green smiley lol" or a "he's so stupid" post.

Well why the feck did you give the attention seeking twit the time of day in the first place?

Most tweets need to be handled with a bit of suspicion. In some cases, journalists have contacts at clubs and tweet what they hear from them. In others, club sources may deliberately mislead a journalist to direct the media narrative away from a particular player they are interested in.

If people stopped taking tweets so seriously (see the past few years of transfer sagas involving Benz, Ozil, Sneijder, Hazard, Lucas Moura etc) then we would need to limit the likes of Tancredi, Hernandez et al. A tweet would simply be a speculative piece of information that is discussed without being taken too seriously.
Hear hear! *applause*

There has actual been no legit news on the transfer front. Are we at the point where we call the club pathetic or am I early?

I honestly have to wonder about the mental state of people, to make stuff up, so more people will follow them on a meaningless social media website.....

It honestly makes me question my existence in life.....It's beyond comprehension

He's certainly got the Shaw one wrong, because united better hurry up if they want that done before the World Cup.

since when? who is the facebook in this scenario then? facebook?
Since fairly recently, although things can accelerate pretty quickly in that sector. Twitter users are falling, the stock price has fallen and the CEO has dumped a load of shares. Not sure what your reference to Facebook is about.
