YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
No? Because I'm more or less capable of rational thinking. Maybe you should try it too, because stretching your arm out behind is not a natural movement while running and neither is going for a second contact with Müller's face after the first one.
Pepe got his red card for his headbutt, which was deserved. Muller was being a little bitch for his play acting. Get over it.

So how many games is Pepe getting suspended? My guess is, since it was an agression, 3 games, but im not sure how does FIFA plays it on World Cups.

It's an automatic one game. With a straight red, there will be a hearing to see if it gets extended.

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)
Vieiras in the wrong.
Was he? He was merely stating that it's part of the game (whether acceptable or not) and it's something we will see every weekend...Chiles was going on like an idiot as if he had a personal vendetta against Muller and totally ignored the fact Germany were the better side anyway

Does Low still not know what he's doing?
Same procedure as every year, James. Germany smashed a weak side like they normally do. Gotta give some credit to Löw for making Götze - Özil work though. Löw will be judged by Germany's performance against teams such as Italy, Spain or the Netherlands :)

The criticism towards Müller is very strange. I don't really like his antics (even though I love him as a player) and his behaviour was of course a bit annoying, but he didn't try to get Pepe sent off or anything like that. He was unexpectedly hit in the face while running, which really hurts, and went down like pretty much every single player in the world does in this situation. I'd understand the outrage if Müller did a Busquets after the 'headbutt', but he does the exact opposite.

Anyway, how fecking brilliant was his second goal? Not going for the ball but instead anticipating the defender's move, blocking the clearance and then controling the ball and scoring instantly. Such an intelligent play by him, outstanding. Everything is possible for us if Müller finally gets the chance to start a semifinal at a tournament.

The German machine has started rolling impressively despite missing a number of big players. Muller is a bit of a dick but he comes up big time and again for Bayern and Germany, vital player if they are going to win the tournament.

Götze and gravity - a friendship for life since 2012 ...

Pepe is one of the biggest idiot on this football planet but the Oscar goes to Thomas Müller. Such an a**hole.

Nice header by Hummels though. Ran instantly to the bench to celebrate with them.
It shows that you're a Dortmund fan. :D

Gosh, anyone sick of this excuse? he played the whole game despite it been over at halftime.. that excuse doesn't wash.

He even said himself he's fit.

I just knew this would be trotted out if Portugal and Ronaldo flopped. What will it be in 2018 in Russia?
One thing about Ronaldo is he would always make his trademark run behind the defence or showcase his pace whether it was successful or not but he didn't do such in the match. That should tell you he was unfit and if you think he would sit/the coach would sit him for an important match like this, then you must be living in cloud cuckoo land.
Lastly, he was still decent and didn't lose possessession cheaply like Rooney and Messi did, inspite of him being unfit.

One of those special Müller moments. At first it looks ordinary, but it really isn't.

Not going to say a lot about the red card. Müller gets slapped in the face, falls to the ground like 99% of players do in such a situation, sits almost instantly back up instead of rolling around and Pepe starts being Pepe. That's that.

Agree with both paragraphs. And in regards to the second I also noticed it. Quite a few goals lose merit because of defensive blunders, but there's wits in making it happen. One of my first posts in the cafe was to praise Rooney for scoring from a Bruno Alves no-look backpass in a United - Porto. It was "gifted" and all that, but Rooney saw it in his body before it happened and invisibly sprinted to the backpass location as it happened. Most players wouldn't even be there.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
The ref certainly wasn't the best tonight and Portugal has a right to complain about not being awarded a penalty as well as a subsequent red card for Germany and in all honesty I think Pepe's aggression towards Müller after he went down wasn't much more than a yellow card.

That being said the first pen on Götze should have also resulted in a red card for Portugal and at least two Portugal players escaped a booking for preventing a counter attack through fouling.

All in all I felt it still was a very deserved win for us.

I understand why you think so but you're reasoniung could be wrong  :
I began despising Götze once he started "serious" diving some time in 2012 - long before it became public that he moves to Bayern. And you may be surprised to hear that I sincerely liked Müller back at the WC 2010 when he was a new kid on the block who had a more than superb performance without diving, acting, or complaining. Unfortunately, he has totally changed since then. And to like Hummels, his header, and the way he celebrated his goal, you don't need to be a Dortmund fan.

Prior to the World Cup everybody was talking with Müller about the Golden Boot 2010 - that he sure has as a target in this competition. If you know him you know that the biggest pressure he had was the one he took upon himself. Then to show such a match and to be that clinical really means nerves.

Mehmet Scholl ended the talks about the false nines with bringing in the "crazy 13" for Müller's playstyle. I guess that match might end for awhile the talk of all the people that talked about Germany missing a real nine...

Elber is a pundit for Germany in Brazil and he talked that Pepe's behaviour was typically Brazilian. He wanted to agitate Müller with his "headbutt" and get him to react and get sent off - major fail.

The Godness who is your next coach probably enjoyed this match, too... - if it was not for him...

Come on, that does not hurt. Absolutely ridiculous reaction from Muller. The brief second where he screams when Pepe puts his head against him aswell...embarrassing. I can't stand the guy.

Decent? I think you are deluded if you really can defend that performance, sorry. Especially with the super high standards Ronaldo "allegedly" sets himself, you'd think football fans would share the same high standards and not look for a easy cheap excuse.

And he did make some trademark runs (even the commentator said he didn't look restrictive), but didn't lead to anything and Boateng had him in his pocket.. I know it's hard to accept for Ronaldo fanboys a defender such as Boateng can nullify Ronaldo the whole game but it's true.

Portugal if they finish 2nd will more than likely face Belgium, and if they beat them a quarter final against Argentina is likely since Argentina will face Switzerland in the knockout rounds.

And then if they beat Argentina face probably Netherlands and then Brazil.

So they will have to beat 4 of the top teams to win the World Cup.

To be honest getting out of the group will probably be a success for Portugal.

Meireles will probably be suspended for the next match as well, the cameras recorded some nasty gestures from him towards the referee in the scond half. He can't use both foot, but he can use both hands for sure...

Surprised Ronaldo is also not facing any sanctions for chasing the referee with the World watching screaming in his face. Pretty bad image for kids. He's lucky but it seems the norm now, look at how much John Terry does it and nothing happens.

Since the ref didn't punish him for it, FIFA can't either. Only in cases where the ref could not evaluate the situation (eg Meireles behind his back).

I'm not a Ronaldo's fanboi nor deluded but I'm being realistic.
This is a player who was unfit and as a matter of fact, he was seen with an iceberg on his knee in training and he didn't complete his full training session. Even at that, he was still decent compared to his team mates.
However, you said Ronaldo didn't make his mark known minutes ago but 5mins later, he was seen making his trademark run, who's now the deluded one if not you?
That said, I repeat his performance was decent compared to his team mates save for Nani and like I said earlier, he was economical with the ball, considering his team were down to 10 men and he was unfit!
