35m + Nani + Evra = Vidal

30/35m = Sanchez to Juventus

Juventus get 3 wide players so they can change their style of play like they want

Arsenal left empty handed.

Perfect scenario for everybody

Who gives a monkeys about that craic man?

As long as we're gettin good results - i couldnt give a shite if ABU'ness goes into overdrive this season & forever more..

As a side-note - i was totally against Van Gaal becoming the new manager because i hated him (thought he was an arrogant prick etc), but the more i read up on him - i found that he's all about team-spirit & unity as a club & i warmed to him pretty quickly, thus feeling he was ideal for United & that i was completely wrong about him.

LvG could be a revelation at United & thats very exciting after the shambles of last season (i know - that aul chestnut). Expect great times ahead my fellow Reds
You seem to have missed the point. It has nothing to do with Mourinho or ABU'ness. I was talking about how his media interactions will go. If those get heated and there is friction, it is unnecessary distraction for team. Now that media is so very impressed with him (if they weren't earlier), his press conferences, at least early in season will have a bit of less controversial attempts from media and that will help the team ultiamtely. Or so I assume.

Sounds like the whole Vidal thing is bullshit tbh
That report on Vidal has been goin around for over a week & they've just added the Evra situation to it & their opinion that Juve think they're the big-cheese. I have to admit though - they've done some great business over the past while, but you have to question how they go about that process of gettin players from other clubs for f*ck all.

Sporting Witness have been pretty level-headed & skeptical about all these reported stories coming out of Italian papers & media outlets, about Vidal to United.

I'd tend to read up on them to see whats happening as regards to United, as most stories are all recycled bollox - word for word in many cases.

Just like the Goal.com article (£45m + Nani) yesterday i posted in the Vidal thread around 11am. In no-time - the same story was published by every media outlet word for word. Its like some twat writes up a story & media outlets buy the rights to it - word for word..

I'd happily buy Marquinhos for 30million and sell Smalling. Would anyone else?

Even though he's young, he's absolute quality and probably better than our current centre backs anyway.
I can understand the part where you want to sign a promising young defender, but why do you want to sell Smalling?

We only have 3 defenders, we need 1 or 2 more as it is whats the point of selling one and a very good one at that.

Madness if we aren't in for him, fair enough we don't have CL football next season but with all the clubs linked (Liverpool, Juventus and Arsenal) surely we are the best option in the long term. I'll be gutted if Arsenal snap him up, along with another midfielder and a centre back we are desperate for a attacking wide player our current options are terrible.

I think I've read somewhere that he ruled us out due to the lack of CL football this season.

I do wonder though whether Vidal's fate is tied with Sanchez's. As in would Juve be prepared to let Vidal go if they can bring Sanchez (and possibly Nani) in and move to a 433 as some have mentioned.

What i said wasnt missing your point at all.

If the media start gettin a bollocking from Van Gaal or they dont like his manner - they'll be negative about United & that always drives the ABU bandwagon.

We've had 26 & a half years of rumbles with the media & journos banned week in week out - BBC blackout also. Unnecessary distractions from that sense always galvanise the team - us against them / siege mentality..

The media will love Van Gaal - regardless of anything, same as Fergie's pressers!

I remember this story and it hilariously claimed something like 6,000 empty seats for big games that panoramic camera footage was shown to completely disprove. I don't recall the MEN running a correction or a counter-balanced article.

Another reporter criticised City's attendance in another story and the paper allowed a full-page, unedited rebuttal from City fans.

Yeah, although a better way to do it just doesn't help us muppets.
Will have to wait to see what LVG does when he eventually returns.
I hope to god we go for Vidal. A perfect signing

So looks like there is indeed something in the Vidal rumours? Or still just rumours? He is so good that I would immediately make us favourites to win the CL even though we are not in it, let alone the PL :D

Woody, woody sign him up!

It does matter why the fee is so low, you brought up Kroos as an example but ignored the reason for the fee, if he wasn't in the last year of his contract Real would likely be paying north of £40M for him. I don't know where you are getting the other part of your post from, Juve have no real reason to sell and we are in desperate need of a world class CM, we are not in a strong bargaining position.
Yet again it doesn't matter for what reason a player is cheap. It's our job to find and secure the bargains.
If we can't get a decent price for Vidal for one reason or another - move on. Simple as that. If we're not getting him for a decent price, look at other targets. That's how any other club is doing it and I can't believe I have to mention that...

50m is definately too much for Vidal if we're talking about value. And since we're not bleeding for a CM anymore, there is no reason to pay silly prices. And by the way: Yes, Juve have reasons to sell. They need money to fund other signings and Vidal could earn alot more money elsewhere. There are reasons to sell...

Funny! The lad is a massive Manchester United fan as well. I remember seeing a feature on SSN last season where he was all giddy and excited about playing at OT against RvP and Rooney!

Interesting comparison. Both would come second best compared to us of course. Damn David Moyes and his non-UCL ways!

I'd beginning to garner that most top-players with huge personal endorsements, may have clauses in their deals that reduce their dosh if they're not playin in the Champions League etc..

If a player has to choose a club: Arsenal & Liverpool versus United = we should win hands down, unless they're offering more wages..

United are atleast among the top 2 or 3 most marketable clubs in the World if not the most marketable playing in the most well marketed league. I don't think playing 1 season out of CL would matter much to sponsors compared to alternatives and he has hardly Ronaldo/Messi money riding on him and it can be compensated in terms of little bit of wages or such a clause in his contract easily if it was a issue.

From the Players POV too he's not the oldest and United would be more likely to win the UCL next few years or more titles than Arsenal or Liverpool probably plus we can give bigger wages as well for a top player plus he has spoken fondly of United in past. For all you know Arsenal may find it difficult this year in the qualifiers.

I don't think we are in for him at all for whatever reason right now, otherwise we would have a pretty good shot at getting him. We haven't even been linked that much with him or linked at all from any semi - reliable source.

Or maybe, just maybe - nothing is happening behind the scenes yet as Vidal and Sanchez are on holiday after just playing long seasons?

Sanchez is reported to be back in Barcelona to decide his future and his agent is meeting clubs.

Vidal dunno, but i am sure Holiday's aren't that big a issue if they want to move they will want it decided ASAP so they can acclimatize quicker.

That makes no sense. How does loaning him back to Lille help if he wants to play for Dortmund.
Homesickness sweetner possibly?

Maybe he's not ready to jump the central Europe ship & set up shop in Liverpool or England for that matter.

Lets face it - England is a completely different world to European countries as a whole. Thats why i respect Ronnie coming to us at 18 - dealing with a whole different culture that has an under-current of being anti-European..
