I would like to see him made first choice going into next season. We have fewer games to play so should be less worried about exhaustion. Rather than spending £30m signing a Sanchez or similar, we should be encouraging and cultivating our own youth players. Give him the #7 jersey and give him a chance - he hasn't disappointed so far when we have trusted him.

IF we are ditching Young, Nani, Hernandez and someone else (maybe Kagawa) then I can understand us buying someone, otherwise I would be concerned about it limiting the gametime of Januzaj, Welbeck, Hernandez etc.
If we buy Sanchez or someone similar, it will be to play him on the wing. How will it have any effect on Januzaj? Januzaj can start on left wing and Sanchez on right wing while Hernandez and Welbeck aren't wingers so they don't even come into the equation.

Welbeck isn't a winger but I suspect he will play most of his football on the left for us this season.

We have an overcrowded attack and fewer games next season. I mention Hernandez as his gametime will likely mean Rooney/Welbeck go out wide in those games potentially, instead of Januzaj - it's all related.

Again, we currently have Valencia, Nani, Young, Mata, Kagawa, Welbeck and Rooney potentially playing wide roles (not saying they all will, obviously). I want Januzaj to get a fair bit of gametime next season (30+ games) and so if we are buying a Sanchez then I would think at least 3 of the above players would need to go.

Would you really care that Nani, Young, Valencia and Welbeck don't get any game time if we signed someone like Sanchez?

Welbeck I would, and I hope most united fans would share that view.
Kagawa also deserves to play, and personally I still hold hope for Nani, but I know I am in the minority on that one.

So that's Januzaj, Sanchez, Welbeck, Kagawa, Mata, Rooney, RVP as our primary attack force - 7 players for 3-4 positions which is about as much as we can reasonably manage. Then we have Hernandez, Nani, Young, Valencia not to mention the youngsters like Lawrence and Wilson who may want some gametime.

From the transfer forum. :)

@Invictus

My point remains that we have too many players. I am sure the club has a plan in this respect, but we need to see some outgoing movement if we do plan on signing any more attacking players. Or even sending some out on loan to thin the numbers.
Hmm fair enough mate. I'm sure the club will look to move some players on if we intend to bring a quality winger in. Even if we don't it would be financially prudent to cut atleast one or two given the absence of CL football (The FFP rules worry me a bit given how we might be loading an extra 500k per week or more on the summer acquisitions). Especially since the likes of Young and Nani earn around 100k per week.

I'd love it if we wait one season and activate Reus' 30 million buyout clause in 2015.

My wit's end

Belgium newspaper Het Nieuwsblad report on Tuesday that Adnan Januzaj has received death threats because he chose to represent Belgium at international level. Het Nieuwsblad have got the claims from S Media in Serbia and they cover the situation from an Albanian viewpoint.

It's stated that Adnan Januzaj received death threats from Kosovan Albanians after he turned down the chance to represent Albania or Kosovo. The 19 year old footballer could have also represented Serbia but that was unlikely given his background.

The choice was a very difficult one and the Manchester United youngster didn't play any youth international football at all, which may have held back his development. Januzaj was also offered the chance to represent England but would have had to wait several years before becoming eligible to play.

The reports are throughout Serbia and Albania and Gazeta Express say Januzaj has been told "Do not tread in Kosovo" via his Facebook page. However, we're not sure he has one. There are several pages claiming to Januzaj's but all look a little odd in that respect.

Hopefully those who made the threats have wasted their time and unintentionally threatened someone running a fan page.

It is disappointing that there's this feeling toward Januzaj from some, he was born in Belgium so it's no shock that he's chosen to represent the country in international football.

Doesn't surprise me. OK, I went to far there. They are idiots, hope they find those guys and lock them.

I assume because Belgium got relatively far in the World Cup, Fellaini's not in the initial tour squad either and neither is Van Persie
He will probably join the team next week.
Participation in the World Cup. Any of our player's that went further than the round of sixteen have another couple of weeks off.
Thanks guys, since he didn't play much I didn't think he'd get the same break as the other WC players that made the knockout rounds.
