I'd rather play a stronger team than a bunch of kids to be honest. We are not in Europe and we don't have a realistic chance of the Prem so that only leaves us the League Cup and the FA Cup to play for.

    Bit off topic but...

"For those of you interested in omens (or just looking for a little lift after Sunday's draw), United have been winless after two games in three previous Premier League seasons: 1992/93, 1998/99 and 2007/08. In all three, the Reds ended up winning the title."

If only I believed in omens....

Whoever wants to reply I guess. Reading some of the guys lineups, it seems to go more on what they would like to see, rather than what we expect LVG to play.
Most of the recent line-ups posted on here will be based on the 18 players that feature in the video of the squad arriving off the train at Milton Keynes. It's not easy to predict the line-up given the travelling squad is a mix of reserve team players, a few first team players lacking match practice and the rest being first team squad players that appear to be out of favour at the moment, including several that I expected to leave, either on loan or sold, before the end of the transfer window.

My educated guess is that only one from Janko, McNair, Pereira and Vermijl will get mins on the pitch, unless we get unexpected injuries that require a change of plan.

I want to see some naive bravery from some of the youngsters tonight. Just going out and not thinking too much about what to do and what not to do.

This is their chance to impress. If they have a good showing, then I'd be suprised if Van Gaal doesn't keep a keen eye on them.

I agree we should go all out for the FA Cup. Fielding strong XIs for these league cup games is kind of sad though, really. Specially against a side like MK Dons. I'd much rather see the youngsters given a chance.

I used to share such optimism, now I don't expect anything, that way I don't have to share in your disappointment (lose), but at least in your surprise (win).
lol better win!!! taking my daughter she will cry if we loose lol

Yeah, that's why my previous comment was why some guys still had Rafa in when no one saw him in the video.

But anyway. If I were to pick LVG's mind, I would think getting first team (Evans)/rotating squad players (Hernandez,Welbeck etc) lacking match practice in the starting XI ahead of some of the youngsters, but as you say...never easy predicting the line-up :)

I really hope we see Janko tonight, I want him to replace Valencia in the team at right wing back. Power and Pace just like Valencia but will also try more riskier balls, he could turn into an actual beast.

This one could potentially be a pain in the ass. It would be great to try and win it (trophy) for once its been ages but I dont know im not feeling confident quite frankly.

Is he in the squad? I had my hopes for Varela in the RB/RWB position

we always played bunch of kids in mickey mouse cup, its not the trophy for us no matter in what situation we currently are.. it is the perfect time to test some players if they are ready for the first team or not. We can't also risk injuries and the team which started will be exhausted. But ofcourse some of the senior players should start.. one of senior centrebacks Evans if fit and Jones to set up solid backline. One senior midfielder - maybe anderson? and the striker - Welbeck, Kagawa will feature as well I am 100% sure James had solid preseason.. don't care about the rest. I am anyway quite concerned about Amos it surely must be his last season. He is mistake prone and not much solid can't command.. I would played de Gea if both lindegaard or Johnstone are injured

I think it will be quite unfair to update player list half an hour before closing time.

Amos is hopeless. I agree. Johnstone is much better and i'd play him but heard he's injured.

I have zero confidence in my line up prediction. I think these games might wind up screwing a few people over because in the league it's comparatively easy to predict the most/all of the team.

I already made some bad predictions in the lineup game, but from the suggested squad that has been brought, I'm excited to see some of the young players. Surprised not to see Rothwell or Pearson tbh.

    Final Predicted Lineup:

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    1. De Gea

    38. Keane 6. Evans 39. Thorpe

    36. Vermijl 22. Powell 28. Anderson 41. James
    26. Kagawa

    19. Welbeck 11. Januzaj

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Bench:
    40. Amos, __. Mc Nair, __. Janko, __. Pereira, 29. Zaha, 14. Hernandez, 49. Wilson

    Prediction:
MK Dons 0-4 Man Utd (Welbeck X3, Wilson)

Did you manage to find a ticket for your mate ? Managed to get time off work so I am heading down.
Most of the ground will be United ..... I live 5 minute walk from the ground and this will be my first time in there!

Nearly everyone who was queuing up for a ticket was a united fan.....
And most of the Mk Dons following in Milton Keynes are people who support other teams (mainly London based teams) but find it cheaper to follow the MK Dons.

Missed the lineup prediction ,think there maybe a lot more fringe players starting than usual. Should be a comfortable win ,whoever they send out.
