He might have to play Sunday. He'll put in a MOTM performance and buy himself a little more time.
he will do well enough until he signs a new 5 year contract only for him to vanish in the treatment room/reserves once again

Absolutely! He did really take the game to Fabregas and Gerrard in those matches - he was brilliant. I also loved his surging runs from the middle of the park (Attacking the space!) although I can't remember that anything came out of those runs.

Yes, Adnan is our new pet now
True but it was just he fact that he had everything. He had brute force, he enjoyed a scrap, he had plenty of skill, plenty of pace, and a very good passing range.

For me, his failure has to do as much with injuries as application. He had too much talent.

Yeah, I agree with all of that.

Looking over my shoulder.
Does anyone believe he will play today?

It would be too cruel; I love the chap, but for him to play well would only once again ignite the smallest of hopes that he may come good.

I think we could see him on the bench.

He won't be anywhere near the squad.

When he first came to the club I was excited about Anderson, however a combination of probably not playing him in the right position/system (two man midfield etc), his own work ethic (ie lack of) and injuries means I dont think he has ever played consistently well over a run of games.

I actually forget that he is still at the club. Imagine being paid whatever he is on - £40k p/w at least I would guess, for doing quite literally nothing. Absolutely absurd. He should have been moved on a few years back when it became clear that he was not going to progress and we may have found a club willing to take him. Now, I cant imagine him commanding a fee at all, and we would do well to simply get him off the wage bill.

I miss his penetrating through balls. You know, the ones where he'd see someone's run perfectly, then instead of passing them the ball, fires it in their general direction at about 600mph so it ends up rocketing off the pitch for a goal kick, even though the pass was to someone stood on the half way line.

I also liked how each season his spell of being good would be slightly more brief. For example, in his first year he was really good for about half the season. Then it'd be a couple of months, then a run of a few games...then eventually it was reduced to a 20 minute cameo spell against QPR. I reckon there'll be a good 5 minutes of this season where he looks absolutely fecking amazing.

Terrible performance, on par with Cleverley and Fletcher vs Sunderland in its awfulness.

£20m player and got bossed by a League 1 midfield.

what? I think he did pretty good, why cant we just blame player who didnt play for one season and his partner was a clueless striker. It was chaos all around.. He did have quite sensible game. and finished 90minutes!

He wasn't that bad tonight but not sure if that was down to other players being quite poor. In first half he played a nice first time ball to Hernandez, other than that, did not other much in an attacking sense.

His attempt at a clearance for the 2nd goal was actually pretty funny. It was so inept.

I've said it in the other thread but he's been stealing a wage for years at Utd. He's an absolute disgrace of a player. When does his contract finally end?

He started well but faded away in no time. I love anderson, but he'd do well to find any club in brazil willing to take him for free.

God knows how he is still here. We pay this fat, worthless shite money every week to be here, it's a scandal.

It's a bit sad when bitterness becomes something like this. Not really any other reason but to have a go at him for being a disgrace and stealing money from the club etc etc. Don't know what goes through the minds of some. Struggling player and obviously not brilliant but this mindless abuse stuff is a real boggler to me. No personal offence intended of course.

Wtf... Fletcher and Cleverley drew against Sunderland a PL team, whereas Ando managed to lose 4-0 against a league 1 side and he is still seen as better than them? Lord give me strength.

I'm sorry but how can you say it's mindless abuse?

He's a disgrace because he's been here for almost 8 years and been a fat unfit waste of space for most of that time. He was clearly at one point a player with a lot of potential and talent but he's pissed it all away through complete laziness. There is nothing worse than a player who clearly doesn't care and Anderson clearly doesn't care.
