It seems madness that we are willing to spunk this on a 28 year old that has just been layed off with a major injury, yet turn our noses up at Vidal? I'm calling bullshit on Falcao now, my mind just can't comprehend it.
Not sure, AS is a big paper. You can get away with rumours not coming off (i.e. XX club favourite for XX player) but to put your name on the line like that with such a high-profile transfer? They must be pretty convinced.

Never had a chance to follow Deadline day closely but found a good River and gonna watch for a bit. Still cant believe Sky have a reporter at every clubs training ground hahah that's insane.

 Really? ffs, SSN really are trolls.
Yep, If thats the big news they're talking about, they literally said:

"We brought you news earlier about Juan Mata tweeting something interesting... well here it is. We can show you the tweet now. He says Welcome di Maria AND Blind"

The thing about SSN is that in the days of twitter, they are actually quite behind the times with breaking news as they dont have the journos finding out the news themselves, so i wouldnt pay attention to any 'breaking news' they have, but it will be more'official' when they do

I'm gonna have a quick launch, other than that I'll track transfer deadline the whole day. Without missus noticing it.. Somehow..

English translation if anyone wants it:
24 hours from the end of the transfer window, Radamel Falcao still doesn’t know which jersey he will be wearing next weekend. His transfer could prolong until late this evening, but it is equally possible that he will still be a Monaco player tomorrow morning, such is the complexity of his file to sort out.

One thing seems certain , it will not be Juventus, like AC Milan before them, had tried to attract the Colombian under a loan deal with an automatic purchase option. This is one solution the Monaco directors do not wish to entertain, it will be a straight transfer or nothing, and not less than the €60 million Euros they paid Athletico Madrid.

From a Monaco source, four clubs are still in the race, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Valencia and Manchester United, who have joined the dance these last few days. The Red Devils directors would like to join up Falcao with the Argentinian, Angel di Maria, recently bought for €75m from Real Madrid, believing that they would compliment each other as a partnership. Still to find the correct formula with Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, but that is the problem of their dutch manager, Louis Van Gaal.

To make room for Falcao MU have decided to transfer Javier Hernandez (see page 8). But Monaco want €60m, a substantial sum for their Colombian for a player has only started one competitive match since rupturing his left knee ligament on the 20th January. Has he fully recovered his full physical means, despite his lovely goal against Nantes (1-0 last Sunday) ?

This is a question the clubs are asking themselves and at that price they are hesitating.

The interest from Valencia is real, but it is uncertain that Falcao would really want to step down a level. Unlike Monaco, Manchester United are not qualified for the CL this season. The only club that has the financial means and a sporting project seems to be Manchester City, who, however, are limited by FFP. The day could be long.

Last transfer window I was hiding in the toilet with my mobile every once in a while so nobody would notice me surfing the net and trying to keep track of transfer dealings.

11pm in England is 5am here.

My main memory of the last summer transfer window was having an 8am class and leaving for uni at about 6 30 as everyone was trying to get pics of the Fellaini deal and sort out the Coentrao mess.
11pm is 8am in Melbourne.

I remember going to sleep at 2 am praying that we get Herrera and Coentrao and dreaming about winning the league.

Then I woke up and found out that we fecked up.

There is your BIG news... Blind lol. We knew that a long time ago, i've no idea why United are holding off announcing it though, especially if it's now a done deal?
It's Woody's new policy, but i wish he'd stop doing business on the last day of transfer window. How am I gonna get any work done today.

I guess Falcao would be Woody's star signing that he seems to want. It's quite amusing how many journo's are getting wound up about us throwing money around now
