Have a feeling we'll get a draw this time, being so close to the Newcastle fixture the players might be a bit weary. Still our attackers were in fine form against the toon so hopefully we can pick up 3 points and solidify our position what with West Ham losing to Chelsea and could do so again against Arsenal

    I'd take a draw

A win though would solidify our turn around

Today was good that it was relatively easy, we didn't have to exert ourselves so shouldn't be too tired. Not sure if anyone new will be fit enough to start. Maybe smalling?

    De gea
    Jones Smalling Evans
    Valencia Rooney Carrick young
    mata
    Falcao Van Persie

    Smalling for McNair I'd guess.

Not sure van Persie will start this so close to today. Hopefully he's able to.

^ Agreed, I'd have thought LVG would have taken RVP off rather than Falcao, but what do I know?

de Gea, Smalling, Jones, Young, Carrick, Rooney, Mata, van Persie and Falcao are pretty much nailed on starters I guess. The other two are anybody's guess. Probably Evans and either Rafael/Valencia/Herrera depending on formation. I'm sure he'll want a few fresh pairs of legs to keep things fresh though, so will be interesting.

We are both quite similar in the way that our attacks are great but defence is average

Think it'll be a high scoring game but a draw I'll say 3-3

Spurs have been wank whenever I've watched them but they've been getting some good results. Reckon this one will end a draw but they seem to be playing youth team kids in midfield all the time so hopefully we should get the better of them.

Spurs have probably been one of the luckiest teams in the league. Kane has been decent, and Lloris and Eriksen have bailed them out more times than I can remember.

    DDG

    Rafa, Jones, Evans, Young

    Januzaj, Carrick, Herrera, Di Maria

    Rooney, RVP

Is what I'd like to see.

Would absolutely love to top off 2014 with a win but I'm going with a draw in this one. Our away form is just horrendous.

A Win is a very good result in this fixture. I am confident we can get it and hope Van gaal will go with back 4.

Ahh what a great feeling to know that it's just 2 days until next match! This will be tough one, but we're on a good run and we'll hopefully win this one too. Just hope that Di Maria, Herrera, Rojo and Smalling is back to this one..at least some of them!

I rarely enjoy Spurs away. I can't remember the last time we played well there. We usually grind out a draw, which would be okay I suppose

A win would be a great result. We could pull away from Southampton and West Ham comfortably, as I don't think they will beat Chelsea and Arsenal respectively. Spurs are playing pretty awful but still managing to win, a lot like us really. It'll be a hard game.

For some reason, I reckon Di Maria will be back. This time of year seems to be full of minor 'injuries' who miraculously return in a couple of days. It would be a great boost for us if he is. We were efficient today, but we really did lack pace.

Other than Erikson and Kane, do they have any players to worry about in attack?

    Edit: just remembered Lamela

    Right!

This will be a tough game.

Shaw should be fit for this and IMO he's our best defender so he should be starting. However Ashley young has been really good and doesn't deserve to be dropped, so I would bring shaw in for jones and play him as one of the three centre backs.

(I Would also bring in smalling for McNair)

If fellaini and herrera are still injured then I would persist with rooney, mata and carrick in midfield (even though it leaves carrick having to do too much) because fletcher is awful and offers virtually nothing.

    De gea

    Evans
    Smalling
    Shaw

    Carrick
    Rooney
    Mata

    Valencia
    Robin
    Falcao
    Young

    3-3-4?

Nah, he's far more miss than hit. Chadli's a good forward. Spurs's run of form is excellent, they've grinded results out and Pochettino's intensity is starting to show. However I'm confident in a long while of visits to White Hart Lane.

This is their weakest CM area for a number of years, and I think we should be fine with Herrera back along with Carrick and Rooney as it is. Maybe Fellaini if he's fit will be required but have no idea what's happened to him.

We're more than capable of winning this and I think we will. On the other hand, a draw wouldn't be the worst result in the world.

Southampton play Chelsea and West Ham play Arsenal so a win would be a massive result for us.

They haven't won any of the last 13 games against us at White Hart Lane. All of these stats are useless though.

We should be aware of Kane (and Erikssen) but IMO we will win this if we play the same XI (Smalling might come on for McNair but that's it).

Every game we play (bar Man City and Chelsea), we should be aiming to win.
I am hoping for a win at Tottenham, though realistically, given our past record a draw is the most probable.

need to score 3 goals to compensate for the mandatory Kane and Erickson goals that will come. no idea how this will pan out. I think we will win as LVG likes playing against sides that attack him.

Got to be positive and get the 3 points. We're scoring fine at the minute but we're not creating that much maybe to protect defense. Don't want another Villa type performance. Let's be positive and just outscore them

Sorry to raise expectations so high, but I demand a win over Spurs. We can and should do this, but one can't rule out the possibility of a disappointing draw.

He might have to make changes either in this game or the Stoke game as both early kickoff. Damn TV. Depends which players suit which game.
