I think Di Maria will play ahead of Mata, but otherwise expect the same team and a tight game.

Hope we smash them. We haven't beaten them at Old Trafford since 2011 amazingly, and it'd be a great time to announce we're back as the top team in Manchester.

Di Maria was class today when he came on, and he's generally a big game player, but it would be harsh to drop Young after he had a good game as well and he puts in a lot of defensive work... Between those two basically. Also question is if Smalling will be fit again, but 2 of Smalling, Rojo or Jones. 9 of the 11 are easy decisions, just the two question marks.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones/Rojo Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Mata Rooney Di Maria/Young

We'll beat them unless someone has a Smalling-esque Etihad performance. 3-1.

What is it now, 3 years in a row they beat us at Old Trafford? 11-2 to City if you add up the scorelines!

Can't be having that. Fecking twat them, still haven't got revenge for 6-1.

    Herrera, Carrick, Fellaini

    Mata, Rooney, Young

This is our strongest team I believe, and can win the game. Di Maria to come off the bench midway through the second half. Hopefully RVP should be fit to come off the bench too, he'll be an improvement on Falcao, who seems to have lost all belief in football.

Had a glance over at Bluemoon and they are arrogant as feck over this. Think that if they turn up they'll hammer us.

Have they not learned from Liverpool's arrogance?

The thing is, we haven't been hammered in a very long time. Leicester was probably the last time we really got hammered (MK Dons too, but the team we had then doesn't even exist any more).

If we're going to lose it'll be by 1 goal.

I would sell everything I own and live homeless for 2 months if we could beat them 7-0

Same team, same pressure and intensity we had against Liverpool and Spurs and we will win.

I am extremely confident for this game. If you see our record against the other top 5 teams, its really good - we are top! We got unlucky last time round with Smalling getting sent of in bizarre fashion. We have found the correct positions for the correct players and our injuries and certainly calmed down by more than a notch. We are also playing some attacking attractive football. 3-1 to us. GGMU!

The team will be up for this, players like Rojo, Herrera, Mata love big games so i'm pretty confident. But then again so was i against Arsenal and they beat us.

    Going with a solid 1-0.

Bring it on!! Most confident I've been about this fixture for years. Won't be easy as they will raise their game against us and Aguero always is a tricky player, but we are in much better form than them and are definitely capable of beating them.

This. Hell, I'm as confident as I've been under Fergie! No matter how the game goes, I'm sure LvG won't get it completely wrong - he's just got that knack of doing well in big games.

First time I've been fairly confident about a derby in ages. I can't remember the last time I felt even remotely positive about it. It's been a horrible fixture for us for ages. Even when we beat them 3-2 at their place in 12/13, it looked like we'd pissed it away until we fluked that free kick right at the end.

Kompany either seems to have a stormer or a howler against us. No middle ground. Hopefully his ropey form continues and we can rattle him early on.

I hope Smalling is back. We missed his composure today, and Aguero and Co would probably have more joy against Jones and Rojo, who are a bit more rash.

Smalling back in and hoping Shaw will be good to go.

Would also like to see Di Maria start. He could give City some real problems.

Same team. No changes unless there are injuries. Smalling has been great but he needs to wait to get back in team just like everyone else.

They have beaten us at OT the last three seasons. Time we get the record straight.

I have no doubt that we'll beat them if we bring the peformance and intensity that we brought in the the Spurs and Liverpool games.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Mata Rooney di Maria
It will be a win for us or a draw.

ufff what a game next. we can agree its time to beat this feckers at home.

Not expecting any change in our starting 11. Got a good feeling about this... so i say 2-1 for us, on the very end.

    Phil Jones will be waiting

We now know what our first XI (or 12-13) is and we should stick with those players.
Here are the results for the last 3 games, in which we have used the same 11 starters + Rojo.

    3-0 Tottenham
    2-1 Liverpool
    3-1 A.Villa

Given these results why change anything - stick to the same players/team.
Di Maria on the bench, to come on if we are getting nowhere.

3-2 win. Di Maria for Young; otherwise, same XI as today's.

Flew over for last year's OT derby, terrified at the prospect of what might happen but cautiously optimistic nonetheless. The first forty-three seconds were great. Much more optimistic about this one.

I've been mad confident about this game for weeks, I honestly think we're gonna smash them. 3-1 / 3-0 win for me.
