This. Sometimes our own fans underestimate the status of our club.
I'm not trying to put down our club. I thought Ramos was well loved in Madrid and has a good situation there. He is well paid, Spanish international, club hero, and all that.

Is it conflicts with club management or other players that is driving him out? Money?

You guys are making me laugh! So funny to see all you muppets! It's still Sky though - won't believe a word of it unless United say so. But in the meantime, I'm enjoying the speculation

Sorry to be a lazy bastard but would one of you good gentleman mind summarising what's happened in the last couple of hours for us to be feeling good about this happening? Not sure exactly what Graham Hunter has said but I hope it's true, he doesn't tend to chat much rubbish from what I remember so maybe it is time to let the inner muppet out.
Basically we have bid £28.6m, Ramos wants to leave and come to us.

Looks like Hunter and Sky are sticking their necks out on this one.

What do people make of him as a player? My (possibly outdated) view is he has an error in him but haven't watched him consistently for a few years

United have made a bid (which we knew) and that Ramos has told them he wants to go and doesn't want Madrid to negotiate with anyone but us.

Imagine after we sign Ramos, De Gea signs contract extension and it all turns out to be one hell of a master plan by our Ed :D

According to hunter, ramos wants to leave real and join us. Only us. And there has been a 29 million pound ish bid from us.

One of the best CB's in the world, possibly the best ball playing CB in the world, and a grade A cnut.

Exactly what we need.

If that's true, sounds a lot like what De Gea's probably asked United to do....only wants Madrid etc etc

Even if we don't sign him, the fact that he only wants Madrid to listen to United offers has pleased me.

He said he has a soft spot for United but his family are Sevilla fans and after he went to Real became Madrid fans.
Thanks, I wasn't sure about who was supporting Sevilla exactly.

Shut up?

What does how I feel about our current defenders have to do with anything?

I just don't feel as paying so much for a 29 year old CB is worth it, especially one with Ramos' offence record.
Because he's better than all our current defenders. By a long way. So if you're not a fan of him, you can't be a fan of our current defenders (in terms of ability I mean). Also Ramos has a good offensive record.

BTW "shut up" has a different meaning these days.

I think the €40mil bid that was reported last week is what Sky are reporting about now.

Hunter said the source extremely close to Ramos told him that we bid €40mil and after that, Madrid informed Ramos of the bid and since then, Ramos has told them he wants to leave and join United.

It is very likely the bid that was reported by most journalists last week is the same bid but the reaction of Ramos is only coming out now as only people with close sources would know that.

It's so on.

We're Manchester United?
Exactly mate, well said.

I think people slightly massively forget this sometimes.

There's Real Madrid and Barcelona. If you're at one, you can't really go to the other almost without exception (Figo?).

Where can you go that's anywhere near the level and status?

Us.

He does make the occasional errors(who doesn't?) but id say the positives overwhelmingly outweigh the negatives.

I suppose if he did just want a new contract out of Madrid, the more clubs who were in for him, the better in terms of strengthening his negotiating position. City would happily throw a lot of money at him too.

I don't know if I'm excited by this because of his skills or for the fact that we're trying to do one over Madrid. If Woody pulls this off, he deserves a chant.

He will be loved here, that I'm sure of. I know he isn't Caf favourite but once he shows some character in United shirt, I guess some people will change their minds. I really think it makes sense to buy him.

Players that are desperate to play for United always adhere themselves to the fans. It's why everyone loves Herrera.
