if we won against psv (which we could have and should have) I wouldn't worry about this fixture as much. but despite the thrashing that lewa gave them not too long ago they still have a solid team and probably the best team in the group we have to face. (not too sure about cska but they are topping their league, so maybe we shouldn't underestimate them either)

If we don't an tomorrow, I have an extremely bad feeling we won't make it out of the group stages.
Hope OT is rocking tomorrow, wish I was there

Rojo isn't fit, so then another kid on the bench and it is a worse bench than we had last season, for all their talent.

Yeah... this won't be easy. English football struggles against the European style...

True, but if we are forced to look at the bench for inspiration in this game, our progression is unlikely. Ideally, we should be looking to give the kids a run out on a European night at home. Let's wait for the manager's p's to gather some more steam.

Not a gimme by any means but I'm always confident at OT against any side that isn't Barca, Bayern, Real or Swansea.

I can only hope we approach this game with a big-game mentality. Control the game, recognise and respect the strategy of Wolfsburg, which will be to absorb pressure and strike on the break. Our fullbacks have a big responsibility to pick the right moments to press high and also with the ball when we are high up the pitch (no ankle-breaking crosses please). We can't play with floated diagonal balls which will expose us to the counter; we have to move the ball quickly in the final third to disrupt Wolfsburg's shape.

Has anyone seen their striker Bas Dost play?

German guy at work seems to think he'll be too much to handle for our defense anyway.

Big lad, scored 16 goals last year but I'm fairly sure like 10-11 of them were in something crazy like 10 games in January-February.

Is there any way to change a score prediction?

I just accidentally predicted a 3-0 to Wolfsburg. :nervous:

I'm more nervous about this match than the Arsenal one.

Lord willing and the creek don't rise, Memphis will continue his CL form.

I think we'll win it by at least two goals. I'm pretty sure we'll create chances and I have a feeling Schweinsteiger will have a big part in tomorrow's game, maybe we'll see his first goal for United.

The big question is what LvG does about the fullback situation as the rest of the team picks itself.

If Valencia is definitely out I guess Darmian on the right to go up against Rodriguez and Young on the left, even though that leaves Blind less protected.

Is on five this season in 513 minutes in the Bundesliga. But Caliguri, Kruse and Draxler can score, too - and Naldo had 5 or more goals after set-pieces last season.

They will try to mark Schweinsteiger out of the match. They did that pretty good with Alonso against Bayern. (And Schweinsteiger in the past was not more pressing resistant than Alonso is). Bayern's goals started with long vertical flat passes from Boateng/Martinez/Vidal surpassing midfield (not high ones with Naldo and Dante being able to catch those), a run on the left wing of Costa/Alaba and a defensive long header on the middle line.

Wolfsburg played very well as long Bayern tried to build up through the middle - and with 3 in midfield and just one striker the wingers worked inverted as crossing would not have made sense...

Australian football followers, what is up with CL coverage here?
It's not on ESPN or SBS tomorrow by the looks of it.
Yeah they don't have the rights. Well I think SBS have one game but apart from that the only way to watch it is on beIN Sports (a separate package to order). As far as I can tell they have one game and show it in SD..so it is pretty disappointing.

I won't be watching the game but hopefully I wake up to a win :D

Seeing the last night results, not too confident at all. While I always enjoy seeing Arsenal or Chelsea lose, it's not good for the CL spots what is happening with English teams now. Injuries are creeping in also so anything can happen.

    believe

Don't we have an excellent record against German teams? Bar Bayern Munich, I believe we have beaten almost every other German teams home and away. Even with Moyes, we beat Bayern Leverkusen 4-2 home and 5-0 away.

Went for Young over Memphis. Think this won't happen though. Schmidfield locked in and I'd love to see Herrera ahead of these two with Martial leading the line.

You will probably win this tonight but not because of an excellent history against German teams.

Your track record goes back to the Fergie days, and Moyes' United winning against Leverkusen who've always shit their pants on European stage until Roger Schmidt took over a season ago is not what I consider solid proof of your theory.

Lots of IFs but if Draxler, Kruse and Dost deliver and neither Naldo nor Dante having their brain fart moments, I can see the result of this game being much closer than one would think on paper.

Dost is going to struggle to be effective due to our high defensive line. He's murder from up close but I think van Gaal will successfully limit his service in the box.

If he gets the ball 30 yards from goal he isn't dangerous.

Trying to read too much into these open sessions is a bad thing as it's all staged but looks like they all seem happy enough!
Memphis will be on the bench he's training with Fellaini, SHOCK!
Why would they have to fake happiness when they are on top of the league?

I couldn't see Martial in that video until the very last second, got a bit worried!

We're basically playing for the last vestiges of pride the PL has left in Europe. I mean, you know it's bad when I really want City to win too. :nervous:
