Finally finished season 3, and I have to say I really enjoyed it in the end. It started terribly, but after that episode that focused on just Brody and the weird doctor (episode 3 or 4 iirc) and they moved away from Dana and the Brody family, I thought it was excellent. Yes some things were ridiculous (any more ridiculous then an American soldier getting into a bunker with a bomb vest on ready to blow up the Vice President?) but still great TV to watch. I also really enjoyed the final episode and thought the ending (Carrie drawing the star) was a great way to finish it. The only things that bug me a bit is we never found out who the mole was, or who moved the car. And what happened to Galvez.

I'm hoping Season 4 will focus a lot on Saul (easily the best thing about the show) and Carrie. Is Quinn in season 4?
This never being explained is my main gripe with the show and seems a gaping plot hole to me. Have I missed something along the way or did they just leave it unresolved and move on?

I've read somebody's post on what could be happening.

Don't read if you haven't seen S04E11 yet.

Dar Adal said "It's a sentimental idea (...) that our people come before the mission". Those words suggest that USA purposefully scarified the embassy and its workers.

The last scene (Dar Adal in the car) suggests that Haqqani secretly works with USA (with the help of ISI).

What is the big mission then? The only thing I can think of is that USA is trying to establish Haqqani as their guy at the top of the Taliban in Afghanistan. What do you guys think about that? What other goal could there be?

BTW, In this context it could have been Dar Adal’s idea to kidnap Saul to get Haqqani his important people in exchange. Dar Adal probably also knew about the planned RPG strike at the car convoy with Saul and Carrie. I think Dar Adal was behind Mira’s call to locate in which of the cars is Saul (rockets hit two other vehicles).
I say thats a very good theory and very plausible, where was this posted?

it's basically just 24 now. Absolute nonsense but mildly enjoyable.

The season 4 finale is probably the worst end of season finale I've seen in a long time. Absolute rubbish.

I don't think I'm the only one, but I saw the Quinn/ Carrie thing a mile off.

Yes it was quite obvious.
Waste of time watching it really
Definitely. They've just announced season 5 on Facebook. Think I'll be giving it a miss. I thought this season had displayed a marked improvement from season 3, but still ended up being a letdown.

Quite enjoyed the season overall but the ending was obviously a pile of gash

Hope Quinn gets shot in the face and then Carrie dies from the grief.

Fantastic season, shit ending.
If I wanted to see a soap opera or lifetime movie I'd watch one.

I wonder how he managed to get the bomb out of there after all the hassle to just get it in there in the first place.

I'm surprised they've changed the focus to ISIL & the Syrian events. I'm sure I read the producer said they wouldn't be going down that route, or they mentioned the show wouldn't give them the satisfaction of featuring their brutality & propaganda. It seems they've fast forward 2 years on from when they covered Iran/Afghanistan in previous seasons and it has opened up a whole lot more plots for the show to explore. This seasons been good so far, Saul wants to oversee a regime change, someones trying to kill Carrie & Quinn, bit confused with the hacking plot though.

@Red Pavan - yeah, but I'm still enjoying the story lines - the shit with Haqqani and Pakistan was a bit meh towards the end. I like that they've moved things along a bit. I don't know, maybe it's just me...but this is the first time I'm enjoying the show in a while.

@Cheech Wizard Allison and her work the SVR  - I wonder what weakness they are exploiting or maybe she's just ambitious.

Am I the only one who detests Carrie? The first episode gave me hope that it could be an intelligent season and it being based on IS, it could mirror real life events. But the show revolving around Carrie really angers me. Brody is gone and we have to deal with Carrie slipping in and out of her bipolarity every season.

You are "angered" because the show focuses on its main character?

I still haven't watched the last 8 or so episodes of season 4...

I blew through the first 3 series in about a month on binge watching...but season 4 started too slowly and I lost interest...

Is it worth sticking with?

This season has bored me to death and has only recently started to pick up. Only watching it cus of the last 4 seasons. Theres so much happening and so many new actors. The show ended for me when Brody was killed off. Its become the Carrie Mathieson show now.

I'm angered by the fact that she is the main character of this show. And if she had to be the main character, then show different sides to the character. It's just rinse and repeat. Maybe it's just me but she's gotten extremely annoying to watch. I like the stuff not involving her.

Sounds like being annoyed at an omelette for having eggs, but to each his own, I guess.

I agree, Carrie is such an annoying main character. Very repetitive and boring now. You're a psychopathic bitch with mental health issues, we get it.

Homeland has turned into one of those shows that isn't all that, but strangely addictive for some reason.

Quinn is my favourite character at the moment, but even now they're trying to kill him off. Haven't they learnt from Brodie?
