Well he is probably the only person attainable this month and we are in need of a right winger.
But if we drop £30 million + on him then we aren't going to do the same with Mane in the summer, or push hard for Greizmann, Reus etc. Anderson will be expected to be the long term solution on the right.

Personally I'd rather wait than just take what is attainable now.

I thought Greizmann played through the middle? And Rues from the left, or number 10 role? But we haven't been linked with him since deadline day have we?

Anyway I think it would only affect the Mane deal if we got Anderson, which is a shame as I think Mane would be the better option and I'm sure we could get him this winter, but would have to pay a premium.

Griezmann has hardly played on the right in his career.

Don't want him, he is just not very good.

We will be better off going for mané in the summer and sticking with Lingard for now.

I want him but I wonder why we don't go for Berardi at Sasuolo scored loads of goals and is only 21
He's part owner by juventus I believe, so we would have to agree a deal with them also. Wouldn't be cheap.

I think people are being excessively negative towards Anderson, many of whom I imagine have barely seen him. He's still developing yes, but he has many excellent qualities. He is a goal threat, can create, and is rapid. Contrary to generalisation of lazy Brazilians, he can also work hard too.

I agree that he is not a graceful dribbler in the Eden Hazard level, but then neither is Gareth Bale. Personally, I think the deal could certainly turn out disastrously, but I also think he could just as well have a Gareth Bale type impact too, as I see them as very similar players. Both are rapid and powerful, both have a great strike on them too. Anderson is not British and may not adapt, Bale has four more years on him and will cost nearly 3x as much.

Anderson will probably go to Bayern if not us, and his thread will become very interesting in the year or two after that.

He just has transfer flop written all over him. He's barely with 10 million but at these huge prices? Walk away from this deal. He won't help our attack out much based on that video.

I've been quite happy with his signings, just not his style of football. Another manager could make an exciting team out of our squad.
Exactly where I am. Personally think this summer particularly was good.

There are just big question marks about how he will adapt to English life/football and especially to van Gaal's style. I wouldnt mind him under Fergie, but I see this as another possible and similar Di Maria fiasco. Not suited to our manager's philosophy is my biggest problem. Who knows how long Aloysius will be here.

Haha that's hilarious. Can you not see how much different he would be compared to Mata on the wing?. His pace is frightening, he can actually dribble and can shoot very well from both feet.

Its quite clear what happened, he had a fantastic season and we came in for him, he wanted to leave and Lazio got greedy and said no. He's ended up getting upset and rowing with the manager/club, and now isn't hitting his best form.

I am sure that if we do go back In for him he will become a real threat for us.

People say "I would rather not spend the money" what a load of crap. At present our attack is VERY slow and obvious, we need too add some flair and imagination.
I'm aware of him being faster than Mata, I am also aware that's he's erratic, mentally weak and has only had half a good season in his career in Europe. You act like h'd come in and just hit the ground running, when it's a lot more likely it would take him months to even adapt to the PL let alone play show any of his erratic ability.

I'd rather not waste money, there's a difference between spending it and wasting it. We need a goal scorer more than anything, Lingard can play on the RW instead of Mata in the current squad.

You say he's not suited to the philosophy but van Gaal keeps saying he wants a fast winger. He's putting the ball in the players court and they are failing to produce. We've seen Memphis and martial go on plenty of individual runs, so they clearly aren't being hand tied, they just need to be braver and take a chance, run at a defender and don't be scared to lose it.

Lingard is a good squad player but he's not good enough to be a regular, his finishing has been poor and although fairly quick he struggles to beat a man 1v1 and instead passes back.

The club at present has shed loads of money, what's wrong with taking a risk? We will just wait until he goes to Spurs or Southampton and then pay triple once we realise yeah he can actually play.

People are saying his highlights are shite but if you watch them he does the right thing most of the time, he dosent feck about doing stupid trickery he runs directly uses fast feet or does a 1 2 then crosses it in or tries a shot. I think that's the mark of a good player personally, playing as a team member trying to assist and score rather than doing crazy individual stuff.

Yeah, I've read that Bayern are taking an interest. If he goes there and is a success, everyone writing him off here will be berating the club for not getting him. Just like Douglas Costa and Griezmann.

Everyone in this thread will also pretend they always rated him too.

This guy doesn't seem to be cheap either. Fee in the range of 35 million being quoted by the papers.

There's no indication that Lingard can't improve and while I don't personally see him as a long term starter I think he offers as much as Anderson would for this half season, he's quick enough and his off the ball movement is very intelligent.

Taking a risk to me is a cheap punt on a maybe, not paying £35M for a guy with half a good season in a weaker league to his name, we've already seen how that has turned out with Memphis and Anderson is even more expensive. The club has money but we are littered with "He might come good" players already.

Louis van Gaal as manager & a highly talented yet inconsistent Brazilian player. Surely nothing can go wrong there.

I really dont understand why people wouldn't want to sign him, are people really that worried that LVG will just mismanage him and he will be rubbish?

Years ago we would of been begging to sign a flairy brazilian winger like him, people like him with that pace and 2 footed ability are very very rare.

I just wonder those who made the statement that he is not good enough, have actually seen him play or are simply copying the opinions of others who have not seem him play aswell and practise the youtube scout abilities to come to a conclusion whether he is good enough or not. Remember Martial ? A lot of people expressed their negativity that his youtube highlights were nothing to get excited about.

Don't want to get into an argument about whether he's good enough but how is buying someone in January you tried to buy the previous summer, screaming of panic buying?
It's more-so the fee that bothers me(yes I know it's not my money). I think that money could be spent much better.
