Not sure if this is worthy of a new thread on the basis of a rumour, yet.

Yes, he wont do bettet than that. Do you think they would say No to Pep when everything is agreed. Wont happen anyway.
Favorites for the league. One nil home win against Everton takes them into the league cup final. Decent draw in the Champions League. Only a few more games in the FA cup to go. They could end up with some kind of treble.

You mean the Yaya quadruple, that turns to shite in March and they end up only winning the league cup?

Every single season at this point that gets bought up.

Chelsea will finish top four sadly. Way above Liverpool at any rate. And that hurts saying.

Not sure about top 4, but I think they are finally going to on that run of results people have been predicting all season. A Europa league spot most likely I think.

Not this season. Would require almost title winning form until end of the season to do so
It is a title winning team.

Also, Hiddink only dropped 4 points last time he was at Chelsea. Not out of the question.

You had a better team last time around and there weren't so many decent teams in the prem last time around too.

I would argue the top teams were better then. This year, every team is dropping points and 4th will be much lower then previous years.

Scholari was sacked because you lost to Liverpool and Man Utd. The title was between those two teams. So Hiddink missed 4 games against the best two teams in the league.

The only top team you had to play in the league when Hiddink took over were Arsenal and Spurs. Both who were poor that season. Arsenal were miles off first. Spurs finished 8th.

Will it? Spurs are currently 4th, at around 36 points after 20 games. Unless it drastically lowers, then you'd expect that the final total needed for 4th will be near 70. It's certainly unlikely to drop below 65.

Arsenal were better then they are now and Spurs aren't that much better. The level of the league has gone down whilst the smaller teams have improved. I would say it is easier now to get 4th from where we are compared to that season.

Did you actually see the game? Got outplayed at times by S*unthorpe.

I wasn't serious. Top 4 is gone for me. Just saying a title winning team going on a title winning run of form isn't impossible.

The chances are a couple of teams in the top 4 aren't going to play as well in the second half of the season vs the first half. Leicester and Spurs particularly. I wouldn't be at all surprised if 63-64 points got 4th this year, in which case Chelsea would need around 40 points in 18 games, which is definitely doable (12 wins, 4 draws, 2 losses).

My top 4 is still Arsenal, Man City, United & Chelsea.

Yep basically what I was thinking.

Chelsea players are actually playing like league champions over the last 3/4 games. Mourinho must have really fecked them off if they collectively voted on their feet to this extent.

A 2-2 draw with Watford, a 0-0 with us and wins against Palace and Scunthorpe....

I don't think they're playing like Champions, but if they continue this upward trajectory then they will be.

I think the biggest problem with Chelsea as a club is that Abramovich has created an environment where the players know 10 bad results and the manager is sacked, so the second they turn on a manager it's a couple of months of pain and then a new manager comes in and they've gotten what they want. The player power at Chelsea is stronger than at any other club because of this. I think the fans' reaction to Mourinho's sacking was long overdue, the anger being aimed at the player's (although it should mainly be aimed at the owner, but can't blame them for not worshiping the ground Roman walks on).

If my members of staff knew that if they slacked off for a couple of months that I'd get the sack and they could get a nicer boss in; then no matter what I did in those few months I'm sure they'd do everything to slack off. Fortunately at most companies the people who slack off are the ones who get the sack and get disciplined, rather than their superior.
