Well alright, didn't want to bump old threads regarding him but I've just seen his behaviour in the last Spuds game and came across a little compilation of his dodgy behaviour on the pitch.

Then you've got threads created by Jim and alastair which both indicate that he's biased towards Spuds (and biased against Arsenal). I mean, sure, every referee probably got some team he's in love with, that's pretty normal but isn't being too open about your team allegations as a referee pretty inappropriate? Especially when you do it on the pitch during this team's matches?

tl;dr: you can call Mike Dean a cnut here.

He was waving advantage and Spurs scored. Nothing to see here.

He's waving play-on and then giving the goal. Nobody actually think's he was celebrating do they?

Also, I've never uploaded a video to Youtube, do they automatically put terrible music behind a video?

Guys, seriously, in the 18th second you can see him celebrating by shaking his fist or whatever.

And yes duffer, the music is shit.

He's done that before. Also got annoyed with Arsenal player for not taking advantage of hus refereeing at O.T a few years back. He gets overjoyed when he's satisfied with his job.

Yes. He's a proper C U N T alright.

It's sickening really, refs want to show the world how unbiased they are. With Moyes we had Twattenburg give 3 penalties to Liverpool at Old Trafford in one match. Now this cnut gives such a random penalty to Newcastle to compensate for an earlier given penalty. Ever since that Turkish idiot sent Nani off against Madrid it's like we're jinxed.

Is this the weekly 'blame the result on the referee who did nothing wrong' thread?

It wasn't so random. Yes they both grabbed each other and it could have gone either way but defenders do this shit way too much and get away with it most of the time. They develop this bad habit.

Yep. And in Dean's next match players will be pulling and holding and he'll give nothing. It needs to be given every time not once every now and then.

after the game I can say he was right with the first decision and was wrong with the lingard challenge, he spotted smalling wrestle too late but it was a penalty so we are quite lucky to get away with a point after all.. was actually pretty decent by M. Dean today..

I think Mitrovic's retaliation was worse than anything Smalling did, but in the order of the action, Smalling committed the foul. They should have had another penalty in the first half with the foul from Lingard. Can't really complain.

Dean had an inconsistent game going both ways. It was scruffy and physical. Lots of niggly fouls not given to both sides. A tough game to officiate.

Biggest culprits I've seen in the league are Skrtl, John Terry and Cahill.
Smalling does it all the time as well, tbf. Yet this is the first time he's ever been pulled up on it. Even in the replay you see other players holding one another.

Smalling was stupid and the penalty was the only decision he could give. It's one thing holding attackers like he did in a crowd but in full view of the ref is just plain bad defending.

Good result.

The only big decision he got wrong was that they should have had a penalty in the first half.

Oh and Fellaini's booking was ridiculous.

More aimed at the bump than the original post.
Ah alright, carry on then.

I thought he's done alright today to be fair. The first peno looked like a non-pen at first but after replays you could appreciate that he's done well there. Second one happens in most games, it's a 50/50 if we're to be fair, usually not given but oh well, was stupid defending from Mike sadly.

It was his 4th foul though. He had to be booked really. He was headless. Can't believe he lasted the full 90. Miraculous for him. Mental of LvG.
I don't think it was a foul though. The bloke was in the process of diving onto the ball... if anything it's obstruction by him and should have been an IDFK to us.

Dean's a cnut. Tonight wasn't his worst game but, once he's made up his mind about something (arbitrary?), he'll relentlessly award decisions one way until something gives..

Caf was ridiculously biased even when we were good, now that we're shit it is to be expected to blame the refs more.

Smalling pen was as clear pen as you're going to see. Our pen was a pen IMO, although it could be argued that it shouldn't have been given.

The only thing he got wrong tonight was not giving them another penalty.

I thought his only major mistake was not giving a penalty for that Lingard tackle

We see that in every corner. You can't see the whole picture if you are looking behind players. I think it's the kind of thing you talk to players and then you let it go. You won't see many pens like that in a season. We seem to receive these kind of stupid decisions but you know Dean shouldn't even be reffing United games after the press went after him accusing him of bias years ago. I think it stinks, as does Dean.

I can get on board with Mike Dean being a cnut, but not based on tonight.

I'm surprised no one has blamed him for our crap defending on the goals.

Smallings pen was a pen. The annoying thing is that those things happen in every game and on every corner.

Its the lack of consistency that's annoying when it comes to referees.

I think Smallings pen could be avoided and I can say with certainty he won't give another pen for wrestling in the box all season. We see it all the time. I think it's harsh to give it when you don't have a full picture. Looking at something from behind? If there's jostling, mostly you see Refs get pro-active and break it up before the corner. I think he did them a favor from his vantage point. The rest was fine but of course it was a big moment for newcastle.
