Sad to see at least one of Mata, Memphis, Januzaj or Pereira will definitely miss out

Even if it messes up my score, i will never guess Fellaini in the lineup prediction.
No clue how LvG can keep picking him.
Rather see Herrera or even Rooney, play next to Schneiderlin.
I'd like to see Pereira more, don't want another Pogba situation, this lad is a gem, and he needs to play more.

Southampton to win 1-0 and we struggle to get shots on target.

    11/11.

Borthwich-Jackson coming in for Young, who I felt done very well when he come on last week against Liverpool. Deserves his start.

Would like to see Januzaj feature. Hope he's on the bench. Can imagine him coming on for Lingard on the right wing.

We need to perform a lot better than against Liverpool. Not sure how Southampton will approach the game. They can either press us or sit back. I tend to believe it'll be the latter, especially if they put Long and Mane uptop, where they'll be looking to break in behind our high backline.

Think the key will be getting it wide. Think they'll defend narrow, which will make it hard for Herrera to get on the ball. If we get it wide, try and create 2v1's, with our full backs getting round our wingers, we should be able to overload them in the wide areas and get into good positions.

I like Lingard, but I don't get why he starts today. He was terrible in the last game, surely Memphis can't do any worse than that on right wing?

Herrera getting another chance. He better take it, he's been crap. Darmian and Morgan need to wake up as well.

The team is as expected with injuries. Looks so patched up.

Love to see Pereira get a chance. Not holding my breath.

Fellaini isnt great, but other than Rooney(that feels weird to say) and Martial , the rest have been equally as bad.

Take Mata for example. He's been abysmal for months now, but he doesnt get half the stick that Fellaini does. Memphis was benched for a reason too.

His last game was his only poor performance. He's been a threat in all of the others. Memphis, on the other hand, has been given plenty of chances this season, and has failed to take it.

I agree that Jesse wasn't good in the last game but if you look at the whole season he surely has done more to deserve a starting spot than Memphis has.

Bench looks decent today, been a while since that was the case. Hope this is the last game with Fellaini in midfield

LvG doesn't trust Herrera in central midfield and the defensive injuries mean Blind can't play there either. Fellaini is the only option for now.

Good to see Herrera and Schneiderlin both starting. Still, though, fecking Fellaini.

Fellaini was always going to start this, I think LVG sees him as an important player who he can rely on to change games.

I thought Mata would back in today, glad to see LvG keeping faith with Lingard. This is pretty much the first choice 11 with what is left of the squad.

Very predictable line-up. I'd rather see Mata than Lingard but it's not too upsetting. Fellaini though...

The qualities of this team does not suggest possession based football. Only Blind and Herrera are good enough at keeping possession, and they're not really that good at it either.
In fairness the quality in that team (man for man) is extremely poor.
Half that team is made up of players which I'd expect to be playing in our reserves (and occasionally sitting on our 1st team bench).

LVG did a major clear-out in the last 18 months. I think he needs to begin another clear-out.
I dont believe any coach in the World could get this team of players to win the title.

Actually, we could drop Fellaini for Mata at #10, with Herrera at CM but the manager's arse will start twitching from minute 1 due to the open nature of the game. LvG is way, way too risk averse.

I've said this before every game, recently.
Fellaini will be the 2nd name on the team sheet, behind Rooney.
I don't do line-up predictions, but if you do, put Fellaini in your prediction - its an easy one to get right.
Rooney, Fellaini and DDG are absolute starters, for LVG.

Remember, our aim is to win by 1 goal, so Fellaini should be effective in a 1-0 scoreline.

Yeah I'd be very open to that. Even Fellaini in the 10 position I don't mind as much. I just think it's ridiculous having him at centre-mid. Absolute liability.

I don't believe many coaches would try to force this team to play slow paced possesion football either.

Lingard shouldn't be in our lineup if we have Mata and Depay available. Hopefully Fellaini is out when Schweinsteigers back.
