Had his debut for Real Betis against Valencia.

Talented Chelsea youth who seems to have outgrown their U21s but not quite ready for first team yet.

Highlights:

Every touch:

Real Betis manager on Musonda:
“He’s young but fearless; he plays with the right attitude and has great assets. We wanted to see how he would manage the pressure of playing in front of the fans. He was at ease in spite of being his debut. He had the fans on his side after just one match. He is going to be important for us.”
Musonda's debut reaction on instagram:

charlymusondajr: And so it begins⚽
Incredible to make my La Liga debut followed by a great win, fans we're unbelievable, a dream...
Increíble para hacer mi debut en la Liga, una gran victoria del equipo , los aficionados que estamos increíble, un sueño...
@realbetisbalompie 1 - Valencia 0 #laligabbva Vamoooo que Vamo Equipo!!! Vamo BETIS. 3PUNTOS, Jugamos Juntos.

Seems to go to ground a lot but also looks pretty talented. Risky transfer for Betis who are in a relegation battle but a good start to his Betis career so far.

I'll stick my neck out and say he won't make it at Chelsea.

He has got oodles of talent just like other players like Bertrand Traore, Kennedy, etc. All of them and too similar and I don't know if anyone can make it at Chelsea at the moment. Of course I would like them to play more than Pedro or Oscar at the moment who are playing pathetic right now.

About time he got a loan spell away from Chelsea, I've been waiting to see him play on a higher level for ages now. Without doubt one of the most talented Belgian youngsters out there at the moment.

Chelsea signed all 3 Musonda brothers but it was more than obvious that Charly was the one they wanted, although Tika is currently still there as well.

Lots of teams were interested in signing him recently, United included.

That were actuallly good highlights. His dribbling is very tidy and he is capable of those quick passes when he's done dribbling. He was also consistently beating Valencia players there with pace and skill. Promising debut.

Yeah, seemed to be one of their bigger threats and could have had a hand in three goals if everything went right (first highlight, the goal highlight and the highlight right after the goal where the pass back to him was hit a bit too hard).

Baba will come good. Just needs a run of games, the performances against Bayern when he was at Augsburg proves he can do it.
Ahh will see, havent watched anything of him before chelsea and he did struggle under mourinho. Havent seen any chelsea games recently ( way too busy :( ) so dunno if things have changed now.

I think Musonda will be great. Like the look of him. Like someone said above we were interested recently and I think Marseille were hounding after him all last summer. If he doesn't get a shot at Chelsea soon there is a fair line of clubs ready to host him.

I'm giving you a glimpse into the future when you repeat the exact same thing about Musonda. You're welcome.
I was the one who warned you about being so excited about Baba's move to Chelsea before it happened. Roma would have been the better bet but that worked out well for me in the end.

Which is one of the reasons why I don't like the idea of Mourinho being at United!

Chelsea hold the cards though as for some reason he signed a four year contract last year. Agreed that if he doesn't get a chance at Chelsea once his loan deal ends (think it is the rest of this season with option of a full season too), he'll be pushing for a move.

With what Chelsea did to get him (signed both his other brothers) I imagine he's someone they wouldn't want to see go. Problem is they already have quite a lot of young attacking players.

If he doesn't get a chance, nobody will. Hopefully he has a De Bruyne like impact at Betis/Some other la liga club and won't be thrown out by the manager.

Scored his first goal for Betis at Depor away yesterday.

Although seemed to be in and out of the game for long periods during the match, it's still early days for him there and seems to be moving along well.

That's a pretty ridiculous amount of fouls.
He is a good dribbler and likes to charge forwards every time he gets the ball. He also goes down quite easily, leading to lots of fouls on him.

Yeah, real good to see him looking relatively comfortable at the senior level now. Betis have the option for another year, right? Could work in Chelsea's hand if they have a couple of summers to sort out their internal mess without worrying about exciting youth prospects (well one at least) clamouring for match time.

A few years ago Musonda was part of a very strong U17 Belgium team which also included our very own Andreas Perreira and Valencia's Zakaria Bakkali. It was considered a very talented group of players and Musonda was unanimously considered the best of the lot. Great talent. Unfortunate that he's on Chelsea's books.

Honestly I think if Andreas was granted the right loan move - PSV and a La Liga side were interested, no(?) - I think he'd be making similar ripples to what Musonda is doing now.

Isn't Perreira Brazilian? I like Bakkali. He hasn't got many chances at Valencia but he has shown plenty what he is capable of. If Cheryshev stays then Bakkali will likely be sent on loan to a smaller club to get more game time like Musonda.

Pereira was born in Belgium and played for Belgium U15s-17s then decided he wanted to play for Brazil instead and represented them at the U20 World Cup last summer.

I see. Just checked his wiki and says his father is from Brazil. Played for two countries at junior level already. FIFA rules are strange. Good for the lad though.
