Yer twistin' my melon man!
Sky says at 5.20pm Mourinho signed.
Woodward and Mendes worked this morning to finalise all contract issues and invited Mourinho to a central London hotel to sign documents.
He arrived back home with a bottle of win at 5.40pm.

Giggs and Mourinho have yet to speak about Giggs future.

They are treating this like the coup of the century!!

Probably just a statement from the club for NYSE around closing time today.

Its good that he has had a rest for the past 5 months. He has never rested before. This would have done him a world of good. Now he will be more motivated and more energized.

He's wanted to manage United for years, now he has his chance, is rested and has something to prove.
He will have us back winning in no time

Except when he was sacked by Chelsea in sepember 2007, he didn't start at Inter until june 2008.
And after all that rest he won sh1tload of trophies :keano:

That's only because of the rivalry though, as soon as he left for Inter, most united fans warmed to him. IIRC he has never said anything disrespectful about our club or SAF so the door was always open
He talked a lot of crap and didn't treat United or SAF any different to anyone else until we actually won the title back from him. Fair enough. But imo he started to admire how we without spending much fought back post Roman take over and got the title back. He kept moaning that season how we were lucky and whenever we needed a goal someone delivered (as if this was just down to luck), goals at the right moment, pens and all that. The first time then I remember him really giving us credit was when we reached the CL semi and were still in the FA Cup. He then commented that ppl have to remember Chelsea are progressing in all competitions, but tbf he has to admit United are doing the same.

Then after that season he left the PL. So no wonder he has this admiration for SAF. And yes, probably wanted the job himself in the future.

Where's my arc, Paulie?
Maybe they will avoid a huge press event with Jose.Focus more on the signings and pre season.I wouldn't mnd that.Hit the ground running and not wasting time on circlejerking the papers.

There is no avoiding a press event. Every god damn journalist will try to be there for this one. Its Jose-fecking-Mourinho and its Manchester-fecking-United!

I still remember my disappointment when it was Moyes announced. I'm glad we got there, eventually.

We practically kissed the clubs arse after Real knocked us out in 2013.

I do think this is his dream job.

Media led shite? He poked someone in the eye. He destroyed his medical department. He's made sexist comments.

Media led shite?
Media led shite that saw Bobby Charlton dislike him? He doesn't fit in with how I see Manchester United, a fantastic club with ideals to strive towards.
Hardly.

I remember that day like it was yesterday, now finally those dark days seem to coming to an end.
Between Woodward and mendes we will give Jose the firepower he needs to get us back to #1

Until I see a picture of Woody fisting Mourinho with the Glazers in the background holding candles I won't believe it. I'm also keeping my pants firmly zipped until that point.

Which is exactly why it wouldn't surprise me if they decide to stick with a MUTV interview and statement.

I think that is what will happen... a press release tomorrow followed by the new signings next week
