The South American has as much fondness for physical challenges as he does for tattoos, with ‘Pride’ and ‘Glory’ inked on his thighs to send out a warning to any strikers feeling particularly brave.

Unfortunately, his debut season at Manchester United was littered with injuries - including a dislocated shoulder in the Manchester derby - and he could only register 26 appearances in all competitions, although he did score once in a 3-0 win over Cambridge United in the FA Cup.

United’s versatile defender capped his 2015/16 season by proudly representing his nation at the Copa America tournament, held in the USA, where he suffered a disappointing penalty shootout defeat to reigning champions Chile in the final. It was notably a repeat of the 2015 finale.

A similar shoulder injury, as well as a couple of other niggles, hampered Rojo’s second campaign with the Reds, although he managed to register an improved tally of 28 appearances and claimed his first winners’ medal following the FA Cup final victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.

Think he'll be gone by time the window closes. Not good enough.

Obviously there can be other factors surrounding this but I found it interesting nonetheless. I'm not in the get Rojo out camp but he obviously needs to step up and going by some of his performances, especially most of his ones from his first season, he seems to definitely have it in him.

Absolute shambles of a player. Haven't disliked a player quite the same in a long long time.

Shows how pointless those stats are when there are so many variables at play. He's a shocking player.

Can understand if you don't rate him as a player but why do you dislike I may ask? He seems to love the club and always gives 100% in every game, regardless of how shit he has been at times.

Irrational dislike due to how crap he is at football.

LVG bought him based on the World Cup which shows how shit of a manager he was.

huh? they don't even play in the same position. I also don't think I've ever posted about Schneiderlin.
Sorry, not really directed at you but Rojo does seem to attract a lot of hate from a lot of United fans when players like Schniedlerlin who were just as bad last season just can't seem to do no wrong.

I think Rojo just may need a bit longer to settle and could turn out ok. He just reminds me of Paddy Evra and how he started out in his first couple of seasons before being a great servant for many years at United.

I think people should cut Rojo some slack and at least give him another year.

LVG bought him based on a game. Fecking ridiculous signing. I have never seen a player lose concentration as much as this guy.

fecking wank. I stick with my view that he's the worst defender I have seen for United.

Taking aside this game, he's been a car crash of a player. He is an accident waiting to happen. His concentration is as bad as it gets for a professional footballer. His positional awareness is shocking. His passing is awful and his tackles are rash. I haven't seen anything that makes me think he's anyway near a United player. Fellaini may be the one people want out most but he should be first out the door. He has cost us so many goals since he came. Joke of a player, get rid Jose.

I don't think he'll prove us wrong anytime in the future. Needs to be sold.

He seems like a nice guy in the dressing room but he's a calamity waiting to happen on the pitch.

He's at the club simply due to being left footed
It was mostly this, but I also think it's because he can really hit the ball hard when he plays a pass. Some of his short passes on the ground are hit with insane fizz, which van Gaal has citied himself on a few occasions. Definitely one of the little kinks van Gaal was probably into.

Have to admire him, he came on with a mission to prove he could be shittier than Jones and succeeded in spades.

So we signed him for 20m and gave them Nani for a year in which we payed his wages. You really have to be a special kind of genius to negotiate that deal....

Probably purchased just on the WC2014 merits alone. Almost certain of that. Not for what he did at Sporting.

I never want to see him at LB again. I prefer him in the centre and I think he may be better than Jones there. He is a backup at best and will probably kick up a fuss and pout when he only gets league Cup and injury fill in starts.

It annoys me so much this Cnut was involved in Nani leaving

I'd take Nani's left big toe over this idiot.
