Swallowed up all the loose balls in the second half. Wonderful performance which helped us maintain sustained pressure on Hull.

Brilliant in the 2nd half I thought. Broke their attacks numerous times, was everywhere, always close to them and close to the ball when we attacked.

It's really frustrating to have a clumsy buffoon in midfield but I have to admit he's been generally excellent at recovering possession under Mourinho. Not entirely sure why that is because it certainly wasn't the case under van Gaal, but right now it's like a magnet to him. Really helps us sustain pressure when every time the opposition hurriedly get rid of the ball it just gets mopped up by mop-head and starts all over again. Hasn't been overly ponderous in possession either.

Fantastic second half. Him and Bailly winning every long ball allowed us to keep the pressure on them. Credit where its due, guy is having a fantastic season so far.

Feck hope he recovers quickly from that injury. He was sloppy first half but very good in the second; didn't give Hull a sniff at starting a counter attack despite being on a yellow.

So apparently it's bad. Would think it will be Morgan to come in against City. Will need to be a big performance from him.

Is this serious? My first thought was it was one of those pre international break "knocks".

Good thing Bastian is still at the club...

I distinctly remember Carrick getting a lot of flack during his first couple of seasons here. He turned out alright didn't he?
Awful comparison. Fellaini is basically the complete opposite of Carrick, whose best qualities were his positioning (preventing duels) and calm passing, while Fellaini tries to engage in as many physical encounters possible which makes him much more of a highlight player. Carrick's critics just weren't observant enough (and also had Keane and Scholes to compare him to) - Fellaini's best and worst qualities were always on show.

Not good, he has played very well and been a good partner for Pogba. Let us hope he can come back with the break coming.

I thought he was really good in the second half, continually won the ball back and which allowed us to stay on the front foot.

Schiderlin would get my vote ahead of Herrera.

But hopefully he recovers before the game... Wow didnt think i'd be saying that about him at the start of the season

He did his job, which was very easy on this occasion as Hull hardly attacked us. I would have prefer Herrera to step in at half time, we may not have had to wait till extra time to score since he has the technique and vision make threaten balls. It wouldn't have make much difference to our defense.

Go ahead and crucify me for saying this. But truth is, he didn't really do anything that Herrera, Schneiderlin or Carrick could not have done this game, except those 3 players would have probably contributed more to our attack.
Before saying stuff like this, think about it. There must be a reason why he is preferred over those players. The alternative is what, that mourinho picks his name out of a hat and hoped he has a good game and got lucky?

I would think Schneiderlin. Carrick hasn't even made our bench in the league and is slow and I feel Jose wouldn't be too keen on a Herrera/Pogba midfield pairing. Schneiderlin is very different to Fellaini but both are combative and Morgan certainly knows how to play as a defensive minded midfielder.

Just when everything was going well Ffs. Did Mourinho say anything about how bad the injury was?

Mixed bag today, in the first 2 games he did a good job of just shepherding players when they came at him, but today he was putting some of his clumsy fouls in, but in the second half he wised up and made some good interceptions.. I genuinely don't think he's technically or athletically good enough to be a long term solution there, but Jose has some rule about so many 6 footers in the team in the PL and while Blind remains at CB he'll remain in the team I imagine.

Frustrating all right. Fellaini was good, though, today. Hope he is ok.
