Probably Celtic to win. At the end of last season, Rangers were a better team. But they've dropped a level since then while Celtic have moved up one.

It's great that this fixture is back on the calendar, and bonkers that it's the same time as the Manchester derby. I understand the police reasons but surely just do one Sunday lunchtime?

I'm not convinced Celtic have went up a level tbh.

Struggled in Europe massively and undeservedly made the group stages IMO. Were lucky against Hearts. Rangers have went down a level at least though, changing the midfield has been a negative towards Rangers.

Not sure how I can support a man suffering from a huge midlife crisis tbh. At least Warburton has kept his head down and got on with things.

This is the first Saturday Old Firm game for ages, the reason it had to be played on the Sat had nothing to do with the police, it was all because Celtic's potential participation in the CL and a potential Tuesday night fixture.

Celtic should realistically win but because of that it wouldn't surprise me if Rangers nick something. It'll probably be very open and I can see there being a fair few goals.

This. Couldn't have put it better myself.

Yeah I'd agree with that. Rangers lacking some of the energy and fluency from last season and are still undermined by a softness at the back and at set-pieces. Which are the kind of things that tend to get exposed in Old Firm games. Celtic are still wobbly as well though to be fair and have been lucky in a few games this season.

It wouldn't surprise if Rodgers gets this v wrong. Some of the Celtic fans I know are worried about him, not so much about his ability but that his personality and ego might make him think he is doing Scottish football a favour by being there and not actually grasp the level of work needed to make Celtic competitive on the European level. That said the club have themselves to blame as they refused to spend for years because Rangers were down and it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

The decision to blow £1.8m on a forward and not fix the defence is going to cost the manager his job.

Some of the worst defending I've seen today(bar Kiernan vs Hibs).. Celtic fully deserved the win, didn't even need to work hard for it, gifted goals. Rangers main strength last season was the midfield, fast passing and closing down, now it's as big a weakness as the CB pairing.

I only watched the first half, Celtic will win all the games against Rangers this season, cant believe some think Rangers will finish in the top 2, they will struggle to make the top 4.

No they won't. They were dreadful today and Celtic will stroll the title with ease but Rangers are probably still favourites for 2nd. I can only see Aberdeen or Hearts finishing above them and neither have really set the world alight thus far. I do think Rangers will finish much closer to 3rd if they do get 2nd though than 1st, because the gulf in quality was massive today.

Dembele and Roberts are way too good for the SPL. I would be surprised if Celtic manage to hold onto Dembele for more than 2 seasons.

He really hasn't shown too much since he joined , very underwhelming in some games but most confident that hel come good and go on to better things.

I think Dembele has had a very good start all things considered. He's an extremely talented player which is why he was very close to a move to Spurs in January. His pass for Sinclairs' goal was superb and his 3 goals were all well taken, especially the second where he made a show of Senderos.

I'm not sure who is a bigger tool out of Brown and Barton.
Oh come on.....

I think Brown is a bit of a tit but, he has nothing on Barton in terms of being a knob.

Barton has publicly said that Fergie knows nothing about how to coach a team or how to put on a coaching session

Barton's always been a tool but has basically evolved into a professional wind-up merchant. Brown's too thick to be a proper WUM.

Been taking an interest in Celtic because of Tom Rogic, and reading the TalkCeltic forum a lot. How good do people think Kieran Tierney will be? Future Premier League player?
