Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü, also known as Fenerbahçe or just Fener (and nicknamed Sarı Kanaryalar - Yellow Canaries), is a Turkish professional football club based in Istanbul, playing in the Süper Lig. Fenerbahçe was founded in 1907 in Kadıköy, istanbul, by local men Ziya Songülen, Ayetullah Bey and Necip Okaner. This group of individuals founded the club secretly in order to keep a low profile and not get into any trouble with the strict Ottoman rule, so strict that the Sultan Abdul Hamid II forbade the Turkish youth to set up a club or engage in the game of football played by the English families. Fenerbahçe's activities were kept in secrecy until a legislation reform in 1908, when, under a new law, all football clubs had to register to exist legally. Fenerbahçe joined the Istanbul Football League in 1909, finishing fifth in their first year.

Today, Fenerbahçe is a major multi-sports club and competes in football, baskteball, volleyball, athletics, swimming, sailing, rowing, boxing and table tennis with many major honors won in each. The football side of Fenerbahçe is one of the most successful and best supported teams in Turkey - having never been relegated to lower divisions; and winning 34 domestic trophies, including 19 Süper Lig titles, six Turkish Cups and 9 Turkish Super Cups. "The big three" clubs of Istanbul (Beşiktaş, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe) have a century-long history of rivalry. The Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray rivalry is the primary Istanbul derby and the most important rivalry in Turkish football; matches between the two teams are known as Kıtalar Arası Derbi ("Intercontinental Derby"). The rivalry was started on 23 February 1934, when a friendly game between both clubs turned into a riot, and the match had to be abandoned, and is infamous for the volatile atmosphere on gameday. Fenerbahçe play their home games at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Kadıköy, Istanbul.

A good solid win here would do wonders for the lads confidence. Zlatan needs a rest. Put Martial up front.

I would like a offensive variant of our 4-3-3 with Mata coming in for Fellaini, Lingard for Rashford and Martial for Zlatan.

This should be our way forward. We are so much more suited to a 4-3-3.

Hope we win and by a decent margin. I would love if OT gives a good reception to VAN persie and then hope he has a shit game.
Martial, Mkhitarian, lingard, mata and Rooney can all start this one as front 6. Shaw and darmian also need games, Schniderlin and carrick too. Need to rest players for the game at weekend as chelsea will be much much fresher. Also we play an early kick off after thursday on sunday which is bad, then we have city too. I think it makes sense to build up the players who have played less and rest others.

I'd rest Zlatan, and if Pogba is poor again he'd be dropped for the Chelsea game.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Shaw
    Carrick - Pogba
    Mkhitaryan - Mata - Memphis
    Rashford

I'd love to see Martial upfront and Mkhitaryan finally show us what he's got. I'm not asking for pasting or anything lads, just a comfortable win would do fine. :)

but what has Memphis showed to warrant a start?
He's had zero game time. We have Fenerbache, Chelsea then City.

It's rotation. Ashley Young hadn't started for us in months until yesterday and he was great.

    It's a squad game.

I don't doubt that, I just think he's lower than Young, Martial, Rashford, Mata & Mkhi and I would play one of those, I don't mind Memphis playing but he'll have a poor game.. I'm resigned to that now with him.

After his praise for Carrick and Young training really well and being ready when called upon I think they'll both be starting on Thursday.

I expect heavy rotation for this one, especially given Chelsea will be another demanding shift on Sunday and that we have real squad depth. You look at the players left out yesterday and you can make a really strong XI almost just from them.

No idea of the exact team, but I'll be heartbroken if Mkhitaryan is fit and does not start. Desperate to see him play and thrive. I expect Shaw, Carrick, Mata, Memphis, Martial and Rooney all to start. That unfortunately leaves little room for Henrikh to get a starting berth.

Fener is in deep trouble. They do not look like a proper football team. They do not have proper midfielders, forwards, wingers or full backs. Their only threat is Volkan Sen who is basically a human carrying a duck's brain. van Persie is missing so many training and performing poorly that the press accuse him for stealing Fener's money. They have just drew at home against a newly promoted Alanyaspor which is basically a randomly selected footballers playing together. Advoocat was hired just a month ago and after the game, he was almost begging to be sacked.

This should be easy. To avoid any kind of injuries, we should play with the likes of Memphis. And win comfortably please.

I'm in for a big rotation from yesterday but still a big team able to win.

Players will get 3 days before Chelsea so that will be enough if we manage to get a good selection.

Hopefully some of the guys will be fit and ready

I hope Schneiderlin is fit for this. Carrick-Schneiderlin partnership in middle, Lingard-Mkhi/Mata-Memphis/Martial(if fit) behind the greatest striker of all time: our captain marvelous.
GK-Romero, Defense: TFM, Rojo, one of Smalling and Bailly and Blind.

Europa League could be vital if we can't achieve a top 4 position. We really need to take this tournament serious.

I think that we shall use a very similar team to the one we used in our last EL game, which we won.
I don't see why Jose will want to change that.

    Probably something like:
    De gea
    Mensah Smalling Bailly Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera Mata
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Lingard

Possibly Schneiderlin starting for carrick. If martial is fit then he starts too.

    Romero

    TFM Tuanzebe Blind Rojo

    Schneiderlin Carrick

    Lingard Mata Memphis

    Ibrahimovic

I want Zlatan to play again. He needs to work himself back to form and putting a couple past a EL team is the best way to do it.

Is it just me who don't care about this game at all? I'm just looking forward to the Chelsea game on Sunday. But we should be winning this, and give RVP a good reception as well.

God help us but we must rest the main men and give the others game time the Chelsea game has to be the priority or we risk falling further behind in the prem .
Would be good to see Miki start and Martial could do with a confidence bost
