Rumour doing the rounds that Sturridge has a knock and may not play today, whether it's true I don't know.
If it's true I cannot see us getting many goals today with all the others that are out too.

Enjoying injuries is pointless, i wana beat a fully fit liverpool on the regs. no excuses. Get well soon.
Well I disagree. I would want that our chances of winning are as big as possible and injuries to the opposition increase our chances of winning. For example I didn't feel any sympathy to City when they lost Silva and Aguero for few weeks. A little harmless knock to opposition player is always a good news.

Saying that I never wished that any player would suffer injuries as bad as Ings and Gomez had, it is sad especially because they are young and that kind of injury could hurt their career.

I feel for Ings I really do! He's scored a few goals this season despite not really being favoured and now he had the chance to impress the new boss.

Instead he's out for the season and who knows where that will leave him? Klopp will want to bring in his own players and if now he brings in a striker then Ings could be done before he ever really got started.

I know that seems harsh but he won't have the chance now to show the manager what he can do. At least between now and January he had that chance with the manager unable to add to the squad.

Really like him as a player, shame he's injured again. Only 24 too.

What a fecking cnut. Another season for him getting millions without doing anything, just like Jones.

Gutted for him. He was working so hard to get back to full fitness, performing really well for the under 23's.

Not sure he'll come back from this. Do we know if it's a reoccurrence or an entirely new injury?

Yeah I'm sure he's delighted to suffer another serious injury that threatens to ruin his career and leaves him with another year of no football, you twat.

Got to be a devastating low point for him. Feel sorry for anyone who has their big break ruined no matter who they play for or how much they earned.

Defour did an interesting interview the other day about his hardships , hopefully Ings manages to come back the same

Other knee.

Liverpool Football Club can confirm Danny Ings requires surgery on an impact injury sustained to his right knee during the EFL Cup fourth-round tie with Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The problem was picked up when attempting to make a challenge in the closing stages of the game at Anfield - and Jürgen Klopp has explained to supporters it’s likely to mean the Reds are without the striker’s services for a period of between seven and nine months following the operation.

The procedure, which will be performed today in London, will correct the damage sustained from the challenge to the cartilage in his right knee. It is not in the same knee in which the 24-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in October 2015.

Klopp said: "To say we are gutted would be an understatement; he is such a great boy and has worked so hard that he deserves better luck than this.

"It is typical of Danny's personality, on and off the pitch, that he picked up this injury to his knee when courageously trying to win the ball back for his team by making a tackle.

"But it is this same personality that means he will come back as good and as strong from this latest setback as he has done in the past.

"I'm told the likely lay off is anywhere from between seven to nine months. He is mentally strong, physically strong and will have the very best treatment and rehab possible to make sure when he returns he is ready to play for us at the level we know he is capable of."

Playing high intensity football typically leads to injuries. Maybe Klopp is the issue?
Despite very few injuries for Liverpool this season. A player with a history of serious injury gets injured again...probably Klopp's fault.

It's annoying and frustrating. I swear I didn't see any indication that he was injured during the 20 minutes or so when he played and there was no rumours of it after. With the form our forward options right now I didn't see him getting that much game time anyway, perhaps a few in the League or FA cup but I saw it getting to January and us sending him out on loan until the end of season somewhere like Burnley/Hull.

Looking over my shoulder.
On a less flippant note, did the injury happen on England duty? Blows my mind that full international matches can be played on a plastic pitch.
In Norway, most teams have astro turfs these days. They are a nightmare for knees, but the shins also take a beating. After playing a while on astro turfs I struggled with my shins, knees and hamstrings. Many others I know suffer from similar injuries.

Thiago Alcantara is the only player i can think of, that has shows his best form after a double knee injury.

I would like to see the rationale behind this post... do you really believe he got injured on purpose to earn money for nothing?

Strootman is doing it as well. Also, Thiago's weren't season ending injuries if I'm not mistaken.

Unless this is some absolute master stroke of dry or gallows humour, than I put it to you sir, that perhaps you are describing yourself in your first line. With all due respect n all that.
