the guy has completed 90 minutes only once in the league so far. whats up with him?
He's been introduced slowly, his pace seems a little off and Wenger sometimes slowly introduces to the more pacey PL. He told Pires he was going to be on the bench. I reckon he'll start tonight though. Aside from that he sprays some really nice long passes.

He's scored 3 goals, this one after the Hull fans were chanting 'Xhaka your manager doesn't want you'

Similar one the same week

Some more long shots before he joined us just before

Think he is taking a bit of time settling in. No big deal though, sometimes players do take a bit of time to settle in. Also I think his best pairing is with Cazorla or with Ramsey, Ramsey has hardly been available and Cazorla is out injured now.

We are still having problems finding a CM duo which will work for us long term, we still don't know our best combination there.

Have seen so little of him it's hard to really make an assessment. There are elements of his game that are exciting, namely his shot and his long passing, but he's been too aggressive and doesn't look adjusted to the pace yet. Coquelin and Cazorla is clearly our best midfield two at the moment.

There's always a struggle to adjust to the pace, but his mobility has been the concern. Slow to turn and cover and positional nous to cover for that not up to scratch yet.

I think he'll come good. AW seems to prefer him in the domestic cups and in the leagues matches against 'weaker' opposition...think he's wise to delay the full intro.

Not quite the answer to all their problems as he was hyped up to be. Another pleonastic type signing. They already had Cazorla, Coq, Elneny and Wilshere capable of playing the same role as Xhaka.

Bizarre they spent all that money on him, just to plonk him on the bench, only to trot him out when they're playing rubbish teams or winning.

Nah, pretty sure it was the season he was actually in the PFA TOTY (Ozil still hasn't managed a single appearance).
A fair bit of a hype-job that season, there were other LB's who had better seasons - not saying Shaw wasn't great, but at 17/18 he got all the plaudits when others were better which has been proven on here several times.

I believe it was prior to his injury he played a few games and was lauded as the second coming of christ. No doubt he will become a great player once he fully gets over his injury (mentally more so than physically now), but the overreaction on here was huge. Just like Herrera being the 'most complete midfielder' in the league after a few good games. Smalling being the best CB in the league. Valencia being in practically everyone's league best XI's... This forum is full of overreactions both ways (over and under valuation of your own players).

Having said that I'm sure it's the same with every fan forum.

In September many Arsenal fans (not on here) were proclaiming him better than Pogba, which I found hilarious.

Xhaka rotten. Though that's not been seen much as he can barely get in the team.

Ozil has yet to record an open-play assist and isn't in the top 20 for most chances created this season. Those are normally the type of stats you boys use to praise him to the heavens in the inverse, aye?

Pogba rotten or Mkhtiriyan rotten?
You clearly don't watch us play.

Pogba's been playing well this season contrary to what people in the media write. And Mkhitaryan has had 1 bad game for us against City, prior and post that game he has been playing well.

Clearly don't watch ours then, if Ozil isn't rotten but Pogba is.

Thank you for proving my point.
