There's nothing to suggest PSG would have conceded six playing their normal game. They have one or two decent players themselves.
So did RM when they were Manita'd at Camp Nou or even at the Bobby Brown on more than one occasion

You need to understand, they have lived their entire existance in the shadow of real madrid, they know they will never match real madrid in terms of trophies and history, these last 10 years have been kind of like their day in the sun, they need it to be umblemished. And their anger over madrid's inherent superiority means they are incapable of not slagging off against their betters

Basically what i'm saying is, barca fans are the spanish city fans
Like this of course

More like envy to see the Catalans dominate world football in this era in both the hearts & minds of fans the world over and the trophy cabinet. You create chances & play attacking football against most sitting deep to defend then only logical that penalties will enter the discussion.

Cheer up @giorno, you will live your whole life never to witness your club do what Barcelona have been doing in the last 11 years - thank the Catalan club for at least letting you experience it as a rival fan

 I say watch out what you're doing in La Liga, because in this rythm, Barcelona will overtake you pretty soon.

Your comment would manage to be insulting if it weren't so damn funny.

It's a joke  Whenever there is a game when Barca get some favorable decisions, the excuses made by their fans are unreal. The same fans who cry hoarse over any decision Madrid get in their favor.

I think PSG have to blame themselves for this kind of loss but Barca got the luck in terms of referring decisions on the night.
Later, I'm going to post 2 GIFS with two legitimate penalty claims for Barcelona that nobody talks about because it doesn't serve the agenda of PSG being robbed. This is not the first time everybody talks about Barca receiving so much help while closing the eyes every time Barcelona is denied something. It's a trend here.

Some even managed to speak about the Inter tie as a proof of Barca being helped, when there were 6 (SIX) really major calls against Barca, and only 2 or 3 for Barca. Makes me wonder. It seems some think it's all right for Barca to be denied something, it happens, but god forbbid they get some help form the refs. That's totally unacceptable. At least be consistent. Nobody asks you to like Barcelona, but be fair.

That's one trend, the other of course is the usual refrain of when Barcelona win, the other team bottled it

Great photo of the sort of sustained pressure PSG were Under for most of the match - all 10 of Barcelona's outfield players are well Inside of PSG's half

True, but Barsa include the copa Eva Duarte and Madrid don't ,so the difference would be smaller.Besides you have more of the less valuable trophies which inflates the numbers:Supercopas of Spain,Uefas/Copa de Feria,Copas del Rey while we have more Champions, ligas or intercontinental.
Talking about the PSG match,It was an exhibition.I felt envious seeing how Madrid won with set pieces in a horrible game and Barsa was able to overcome all their problems with that nice play.
Although It was totally deserved I wonder if the referee will get more games in this edition of C.L.I really doubt it

True, you have a better record in the European Cup. Barca also has records you don't have, like multiple CL-La Liga doubles, and even trebles. As far as I know, in each season when you won the CL, you weren't able to win La Liga as well. It's a lot harder to go for the double, than to focus on just winning the CL. Either way, my point is not to argue which club has which records, probably Madrid ends up on top in this aspect, because you have the more important trophies. Comparing Barcelona to Manchester City is one of the most moronic things I've heard. And even if that stat does not prove Barca is bigger than Madrid, it does prove Barca is one of the biggest clubs. And does it emphatically.

Absolutely terrible result and one I doubt that they will recover from for a long time. After the first leg they really did have a very good chance of winning the whole thing this season. Massive confidence blow considering that they keep getting in to great positions in the Champions League and blowing it every season.

Also I called Barcelona overturning it after the first leg.

Should have put a bet on it.

That's one trend, the other of course is the usual refrain of when Barcelona win, the other team bottled it (/mesqueunclub)
if anything, I think it underscored how you are better placed to defend deep than try to play toe to toe vs Barcelona at full strength. Bayern's victory years ago was with a Barca team decimated by injuries and illnesses
Hypocritical and conceited is never a good combination.

Basically you're saying PSG were terrific when they lost 6-1 and conceded 5 stupid goals. Or as you say 5 goals due to
Iniesta's magic
and so on. They were terrific. Nothing to do with PSG bottling a 4-0/(6)5-3 lead. How dare people not give Barca the credit for dismantling an incredible PSG side on the night? (in truth everyone has given Barca credit for the spirit they showed) How dare they say PSG played like they shit their pants early on and never recovered mentally? PSG were terrific enough to hold that 5-1 deficit till the 95th minute.

When Barca lost 4-0 and 3-0 though, it was down to illness. Imagine how many Bayern would've conceded had Barca had all players available in that first leg. Like really available. The versions of Alves, Pique, Alba, Valdes, Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Sanchez, Pedro, and especially Messi that were in the starting line up were all stunt doubles. Only Bartra was there that night.

They didn't need to concede 6, just 5 would've seen them out and 5 for Barcelona is fairly common - it's a big reason few are willing to play toe to toe with Barcelona for fear of being run over. It also, again, points to how much of an aberration the result in Paris was - PSG much less any other team was unlikely to get a similar result doing the same thing
Well, thankfully we got to see the real PSG against the real Barca in that 6-1 though and that fluke freak result from the first leg was corrected with a more accurate display of the teams' relative strengths. PSG did well to play defensively to restrict Barca to only 6 goals. Scoreline would've been much higher had the game been open.

Yeah but that was a different Barcelona, a brilliant team. That version I would favour to make such a comeback. This current Barca has recently been completely outplayed by PSG and even City.

I understand why you want to talk up PSG, it makes your own teams achievement even bigger. The reality is they collapsed and you had a heap of good luck. This will become evident as soon as you come up against one of the best.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but rubbishing the play of one team clearly diminishes the efforts of the other

PSG played well, in both legs - they earned every goal they scored. They were perhaps not ideally set up tactically in the return leg but many coaches would have done a lot to protect that 1st leg lead and avoid being overrun by Barcelona - so accusations they were cowardly is rich considering had they opened up and gotten run over the criticism would've been that they were naive. So, yeah, hypocrites are Bountiful when trying to discredit a unique result

As actual Professional footballers pointed out in most post match analyses, it was remarkable the sustained intense high pressure by Barcelona for the majority of the match - something many of them had never witnessed. But yeah, PSG bottled it

The point is that Barcelona can and has rolled up the greatest teams at Camp Nou. PSG isn't in that tier, yet. Emery certainly has plenty of experience playing Barcelona, regardless of the iteration they faced this time around. And if anything I think it points more to how poor Barcelona were in the 1st leg, despite how great PSG played - a conclusion many made then too

You just posted these quotes 2 minutes apart.

Actual professional footballers also pointed out what a bottlejob of epic proportions this was. You're just cherry picking arguments but you're not sticking to your actual "rules" of arguing.
- actual footballers said this so it's right (neglect whatever else they said)
- rubbishing the play of one team discredits the other team (you just once again did the same for Barca's performance from the first leg)

Scholes -

When you play Barcelona, as I have said before in these pages, you know that for most of the game you will be defending. You know that your concentration has to be at the very highest level and that if you switch off for a moment they will punish you. It is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. When United beat Barcelona over two legs in the semi-final of 2008, we were exhausted by the effort but won the tie.

Even when we beat Barcelona in the 2008 Champions League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford, my main memory – the goal aside – was that they had possession for long periods. We did not go toe-to-toe with them, but instead contained them as best we could and defended our lead. In that era Barcelona were special. They were undoubtedly the best team in the world
I have no idea what the quote or the video are supposed to prove. Did we play defensively to contain rather than try and keep possession? Yes. Was the collection of individual players (at that moment) better for Barca? Maybe, they were definitely better in possession. Was Messi an exceptional dribbler? Yes.

Did Barca create more than one clear chance? No, instead United had a few more on the break, and as usual, the match highlights do a good job of showing that. Sitting deep (which you were praising PSG for) and then hitting on the counter with regularity (PSG would have done well to bother trying this) is a well-established tactic that we used, successfully.

How is us 62 and Liverpool 60?

The official count only having us 42 vs Liverpool 41.

How many matches does one have to play to be considered for PSG's hall of fame? 12, apparently - congrats Becks!

When you look at the list, it's ridiculous. It's insulting for the other players.

They probably look at HoF as meaning "Someone who was famous" or "Someone who made our club famous"

Demeans the whole concept of a HoF but guess as fame goes, few trump Becks
Yeah, the Qatari(because I have no doubts that it's their doing) concentrated on fame more than achievements, otherwise Okocha and Beckham wouldn't be there.

Whenever I think about Beckham, I think about PSG - and vice versa. True *insert their colours here* legend.
