Boring as feck. :boring::boring::boring: Similar to the (almost) yearly Bayern-AFC ties. We played RM in the group already twice (group and SF) in 12/13, once in 13/14 (QF), this CL season again in the group. Bring on Barcelona, Atletico, Monaco or Leicester, I don't care - anyone we haven't encountered yet.

It's funny because I can actually see this happening. Who do you fancy in the next round if you get to choose?

Yup just like it was for PSG last week. Why people ignore the thousands of times when a team set up defensively and ended up paying for it and jump on the chance to highlight in example of the opposite is something I will never understand.
You dont understand irony either. Look it up .

Honestly, I don't really care as long as it's a team we haven't played 'recently' (RM and Juve) or play regularly in domestic competitions (Bayern). (I generally don't like it when teams from the same association play against each other so early, like MUFC and LFC last EL season, or Gladbach and Schalke right now).
Perhaps I'd slightly favor playing Barcelona or Atletico but just by a teensy bit.

It'll be Juve-Leicester:p
It would be tactically fascinating, they are a very physical side and deadly on the counter, I can see Juve keeping the ball very deep and circulating slowly to call them ahead, therefore a borefest.

That's cool but weird logic. Don't you want to get the "weakest" team possible by making your route to win the Cup easier?

Actually no, it isn't. :D My 'logic' is that I enjoy the actual competition, the actual game of football. I'd love to see my lads against Barcelona or Atletico in competitive games, not just a friendly in pre-season or so, because both teams make regularly deep runs in the CL and we've never faced them. It's more exciting to compete with them in the next round than playing against teams we've met (regularly) in the recent past. If we drop out - so be it, but that's also possible against any other team that's left in the competition; we're underdogs in almost all games from now on anyway.

Will Real Madrid become the first club in history to retain the Champions League or will Ancelotti become the first manager to win it with 3 different football clubs?

What a classic.

UEFA, make this happen!
He's managed 3(?) of the remaining teams as well

EDIT: Ranieri's managed 4 of them!

I hope Barca, Madrid, Bayern and Juve get drawn against each other just so two of the big guns will be guaranteed to get knocked out. I want to see some new teams in the semis.

Drawing Bayern would mean 4 matches from this two teams against each other in 17 days...

April 8th is the league match in Munich
April 11th/12th CL quarter final first leg
April 18th/19th CL quarter final second leg
April 25th is the German Cup semifinal in Munich

What happened?
There showing the replay of Nasri vs Vardy. Dixon was trying to call Vardy's cheating dive cute and all that nonsense. Keane called Vardy as a cheat. Dixon immediately went on to say "I'm changing what I said, Vardy cheated". The guy buckled under Keano's pressure.

Barca v Leicester - it's written in the stars...
Real usually gets the easier draws while Barca and Bayern have the tough draws, to it's Real - Leicester. Bayern probably against Juve, again.

Would love to finally see Dortmund - Barca.

My prediction:

Real - Leicester
Bayern - Juve
Barca - Atletico
BVB - Monaco

Would be typical UEFA.

TBF if it was an foreign player doing the same as Vardy he would be called as a cheat by the British press, but that was not the main reason why Sevilla lost, I cannot see Leicester doing more than they have done unless they improve.

Well done to Monaco! Played superbly in the first half, and got somewhat lucky to score out of nothing in the second but either way, happy to see Pep exit at this stage. Gives him a chance to lock himself up in his room and cry his heart out until he has his next great epiphany.

Also, weird to hear Lineker question the away goal rule.
And? Brandt hit him right in the chest with the first attempt, exactly what I said happened, so why do you roll your eyes? The only way that attempt by Brandt ends up in goal is any keeper voluntarily moving out of the way.

Bayern vs Barcelona

If Sevilla didn't bottle it against Leicester, this would surely go down as one of the strongest quarter-finals in recent years.

I would love to see:

Juventus vs Dortmund
Leicester vs Bayern Munich
Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid
Barcelona vs Monaco

Don't mean to sound like an elitist but I'd love to see a semi-final with all the European giants:

Juventus vs Real Madrid
Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Final: Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich

Will Real Madrid become the first club in history to retain the Champions League or will Ancelotti become the first manager to win it with 3 different football clubs?

What a classic.

UEFA, make this happen!
Let Monaco beat Barcelona to revenge for the other French team, and go to the final!!!

:boring::boring::boring: I fell asleep while reading this. :wenger: Really, it's the perfect display of boredom. I acknowledge that inter-association ties become likely if two or more teams from the same association reach the QF but the SFs would be early enough.

That would be boring, as would be against Real, Barcelona or Atletico - and us of course.

Would love to finally see Dortmund - Barca.
I would take Barcelona in a heartbeat and assume Thomas Tuchel would give an arm and leg to get them. I haven't found yet which ex-football player(s) will be doing the draws whom I can blame for playing RM again or you lot. :D Hope it's not somebody likeable.

This had to be one of the most entertaining last 16 rounds in CL history. Plenty of goals, amazing comebacks and total demolitions(Arsenal :D). Barca, Monaco, Dortmund and Leicester have all overcome first leg deficits. And among the PL clubs, only Leicester have managed to get into the last 8. The champions of England are doing us proud!

I think this would be my preference too, but happy with Monaco and Leicester to be swapped around. All fairly newish fixtures too. One thing I don't want to see is another Madrid derby.

One PL club in the last 8. Not even a surprise after the last decade. Still: wow.

Way too much responsibility. I don't want us to be the ones who let the bastards keep it.

Not really a surprise when Premier League is so incredibly strong that clubs have no energy left to play in Champions League. We'd have all-English finals year in year out otherwise.

I am supporting Monaco from here, I think. Really good side, play nice football, very likeable. I am hoping they can repeat the 2004 feat and go one step further and win it. Will be a huge task but nothing is impossible.

I think perfect QFs:

Barcelona v Dortmund
Bayern v Leicester
Real Madrid v Monaco
Atletico v Juventus

At least these are fixtures we have not seen a hundred times in the last 5 years.

Will probably be:

Atletico v Barcelona
Bayern v Juventus
Real Madrid v Dortmund
Monaco v Leicester

With gazillion 'revenge time' tags over the first three and 'underdogs clash' for the remaining.

More like Jardim effect

Goes to show what having more than 8 months with players, coach & playing style can do for you - on top of a City side that are still missing a few key pièces (FBs & Striker). Now Messi critics got a better glimpse of the sort of sitters Di Maria, Higuain & Kun have bottled over the years. It is also interesting how both the home & away matches had virtually idential halves played out, Monaco dominating the first & City the 2nd. Moreover, the Stones critics should acknowledge what we witnessed in the 2nd half too - just how great he can become

Amazing first half performance from Monaco, perhaps one of the most dominant ones I have ever seen. Mbappe will get the headlines but every big club should be considering Bernardo Silva.

City will be better no doubt and success will come despite many hoping for Pep failure, they simply are not there yet - moreover, injuries have cost them dearly as well.

So now this is the bit I don't get. Are Leicester the best team in England for going farther than anybody else in the CL or are they an average team fighting off relegation?

Somewhere in between. They have good enough players to be a top 8 team in England, but they were very lucky in CL so far. Lucky with the group, and lucky to return from Spain with only a 1-2 loss.

From this point forward, it's impossible to get lucky anymore for them.
