Middlesbrough Football Club (nicknamed The Boro and Smoggies), are a professional football club based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. According to Boro folklore, the idea for forming the football club was suggested during a tripe supper at the Corporation Hotel, Middlesbrough, and while this has since been discovered by club historian Harry Glasper to be untrue, it is certainly true that like many football clubs of the time, Middlesbrough were formed by members of the local cricket club wishing to stay fit during the winter.

They won the FA Amateur Cup in 1895 and again in 1898. The club turned professional in 1889, but reverted to amateur status in 1892. They turned professional permanently in 1899. After three seasons, they won promotion to the First Division, where they would remain for the next 22 years. Middlesbrough enjoyed their modern peak with the appointment of former Manchester United legend Bryan Robson in 1994, followed by signings like Neil Cox, Jan Åge Fjørtoft, Nigel Pearson, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Juninho Paulista, Emerson, Paul Ince and Nick Barmby. The club plays its home games at the Riverside Stadium, which was built to replace Ayresome Park (1903-1995).

Would love to see Timothy get a game here ahead of Fellaini, won't happen but what can you do. So long as Rashford and Shaw get a game I'm happy.

That midfield doesn't fill me with hope, but with Jones barrelling down the left wing like he did tonight, we're sure to open them up.

The trick here is not to expect Boro to sit back, they've sacked Karanka who would've definitely played for "nick it on the break". Now the shackles are off and our midfield is weaker than normal, they'll press, expect Fellaini to be collecting a lot of long balls to knock down to the front three in this game. Have to hope Martial and Miki can produce some dribbling skills in this one.

I would be surprised if we win this. A draw will be the most likely result.

Fully expect a 1-0 loss or 0-0. Anything less than a win and our league campaign is over.

I think we'll see the below team unless Rojo is rested and Young plays at LB. It will be a miracle if we win.

Hopefully we'll grind a win out. Players looked wrecked tonight. What some of our players need are lengthy journeys to South America for their national teams. With any luck we'll go away (on international duty) with a win to see us into the home straight.

Disgraceful that it's played at noon, weren't all of the games played at 3pm on Sunday? I remember a lot of score updates from Super Sunday matches.
BT are taking advantage of us, from Monday evening game to Sunday morning is basically 3 games in 5 and a bit days.

Darmian / DDG / Carrick / Fellaini / Rashford / Jones / Martial maybe and Lingard to come in.
    We should be fresh enough

This is going to be tough with suspension, injuries and new manager syndrome.

So far away I get up 4am to just watch Utd on TV
We need to wait & see what if any injuries we still have.
From here on in we have to play our best 11 every game but this game might be slim pickin's.
We may be forced into a back 3 formation for Boro
We know won't have Herrera or Ibra thru suspension. We may not have Pogba - if it's ham string tweak it could be a while
Rooney might still be out and possibly Martial as well. Doesn't leave us much does it!
